The setting was absolutely beautiful and very private. The accommodations were really comfortable and spacious, and the kitchen had everything you could need. We especially loved the gardens and talking to the property owners. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine, some cheese and a baguette and looking at the gardens— the roses were in full bloom. (We were there in early June.) It’s clear the owners love meeting people and sharing their love of the area. Also, the wines of the Chinon region were excellent. Next time I need to remember to pack a bigger suitcase so I can bring back more wine. Two other things that we really appreciated: the owners spoke English very well and there was parking right in front. We had such an amazing time, we did not want to leave. Thank you Bruno! Everything was perfect!

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! Our stay the cottage at La Penesais hosted by Anne and Bruno was that good that I am writing this review! The location is perfect as you are basically between 2 towns! Parking in front of the cottage was also a plus! It was extremely clean and well stocked. A full stocked kitchen (with an oven) should you choose to make home cooked meals (which we did)! It was honestly the perfect place to stay in this area, only being 50 mins away from Tours train station! Would absolutely go back and recommend to a friend! A Plus is their dog Lou who greets you when you arrive and is sad when you check out!

The 'house' had typical French charm, very comfortable, interesting art works, very well appointed and excellent hosts in Bruno & Anne. It provided everything it said it would 'on the tin'....lingers in our mind for another visit.

Fantastic location, 5 minutes from beautiful Chinon and Avoine. Heavenly residence. Large, stunning with all the comforts of home. Excellent hosts, Anna and Bruno. So welcoming and helpful.

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and informative. The gite was extremely well-equipped and immaculate. The outside private terrace a real bonus.

I had not realised before arrival that there is a 10 euro per night supplement for heating from April which we agreed to pay but had not seen advertised on Booking.com. The heating did not come on at night so it was a bit chilly although it worked well in the morning. The decor is delightful but if you break something you do have to pay full cost to replace it, so it's not necessarily a good place for boisterous children. Nice romantic getaway for a couple.

Location was very good. Close to Chinon for everything. Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Beautiful property with lovely gardens.

The host were exceptional, the property very well presented, with excellent facilities. The hosts provided excellent travel material on local attractions.

Located a bit out of Chinon, it was quiet and beautifully appointed. The outside spaces were beautifully landscaped in a way only the French can do! The apartment was also very well designed- combination of modern with touches of classic French details. One of the nicest properties we have rented in our many years of travel. Highly recommended and we hope to return.

Quiet rural location. Excellent hosts who were very welcoming. Beautiful garden and outdoor sitting area. Freshly cut flowers in the accommodation upon arrival.

Nothing to dislike. A wonderful place to stay.
