located about 30 minutes walk from the town centre and next to a lake and country side this hotel is on the outskirts of chinon...make sure you have binoculars if you book the castle view rooms as the castle is a fair way away..the south side rooms have a country side view which we preferred. , breakfast is a continental type and enjoyable. the pool area has had a minor refurb and is clean and tidy..only 6 sunbeds though.. theres a super u supermarket some 25 minutes walk/10 mins car ride southwards and a large e.lercrec and aldi on the north side of the town .. the castle is a popular tourist attraction.

the air conditioning has one outside unit supplying a whole block and one person puts the ac to 'heat' then the whole block will get heat which isnt pleasant if its 30 degrees outside..if this happens then you need to go to reception where they have a master control screen and they can override and turn you ac back on..

The location was great and the setting pretty, the breakfast was good and the staff were amazingly helpful and kind - always going out of their way to ensure guests were happy. Pool was not too big, but more than enough for the amount of people. Restaurant was good.

The place itself is a little rundown and in need of renovation and a good clean, particularly the carpets, but having said that the hotel was decent value for money and would return if in the area.

Location of room was very quiet. No banging doors at night. Good car parking. Short walk into town. Breakfast was included in the room price. Evening meal was quite good.

We had twin beds, bedding could have been better. We had double quilts in single quilt covers !! Restaurant is closed on weekends.

Staff were really nice and welcoming. Location was good. 15 minute stroll into town. Comfortable bedroom with nice view Nice meal .Good location for cycling. We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay.

Hotel looked a bit tired. Outside terrace was scruffy, Hotel probably needs a refurbishment. Still enjoyed our stay though.

We stayed for three nights, second morning the pastries for breakfast were "overdone". Concern over hotels delay to allowing Booking.com online access until end of February (all other Hotels booked prior to Christmas 2023.)

Nice large clean rooms, with a large comfortable bed. A very good shower, although in a bath.. The surroundings were very pleasant and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.

One would have preferred a walk in shower, because climbing in and out of a bath can be tricky if slightly disabled.

Easy to find very nice location plenty of parking. Very well maintained and the gardens. Very hospitable staff made us very welcome. Nothing to much trouble. Would certainly recommend. Excellent buffet breakfast.

10/15 minute walk to Chinon centre in quiet location. Free secluded large car park for our classic car. Very helpful friendly staff. Comfortable, clean, quiet room. Good breakfast. Good air con during very hot weekend. Recommended. ps: 15 min hop on-hop off bus passes by.

Good room with a balcony with pretty country views. Nice walk into the old town. Lovely evening meal and breakfast included in a very reasonably priced room.

Separate toilet a little dingy and cramped but functional.

All the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Delicious, plentiful breakfast buffet and we enjoyed an evening meal there. Ideal location for visiting Chinon within walking distance of the fortress, which we had a good view of from our room.

It would have been good to know that the rooms also overlooked the neighbouring school! Decor is looking a bit tired, but clean and comfortable, and I understand is due to be updated at the end of the year.
