The loft (4 bedroom apartment) was very nice. Friendly staff.

Expect street/party noise if you open the windows at night. Disorganized (free access for all) ski storage.

A Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Chamonix! We had an incredible stay at Hotel Gustavia! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The staff were super friendly and incredibly helpful, always going the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better—right near the center of town and just steps from the station, making it ideal for exploring Chamonix and getting to the slopes with ease. Our rooms were comfortable, beautifully decorated, and provided the perfect retreat after a long day outdoors. The food was another highlight—healthy and hearty breakfast options that set us up perfectly for a day on the slopes. A special shoutout to the hotel bar, Chamber 9, which became a firm favorite, especially among the 20-somethings in our group. The lively atmosphere, great drinks, and friendly vibe made it a great spot to unwind. New Year’s Eve was the absolute highlight—amazing food, a fantastic atmosphere, and a celebration we’ll never forget! Thank you, Hotel Gustavia, for a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Soft, comfy bed, but very tiny. It was a "double", which is not what we're used to, but it was very comfy. We LOVE the bed linens. They were perfect! Not too hot, not too cold! We left the door to the balcony open overnight, and got a nice breeze. It was wonderful! Breakfast is nice. Coffee was OUTSTANDING! The hotel front desk went out of their way to provide me with a simple beer on the day the staff had their time off. They also provided us with the little travel cards for the train (ride for free), which we used to explore other towns! That was a very nice PLUS! Upon checkout, we met the soon-to-be GM from Sweden, who was a wonderful person! As a former hospitalities employee, I could have talked with him for hours, but we had to catch a train! The rooms are SOLID and quiet. We had a wonderful Scottish young couple next to us with a 1 year year old child who refused to sleep. We never heard them. We talked a lot at breakfast, and made new friends. We're very happy with the location of the hotel, and the staff. We loved it. We'll be back!

No mini bar. No face washcloths. This is typical European, so we're not complaining. The room was so tiny, but who spends the entire day in their room? The shower could use some modifications, as the doors allow the entire bathroom to flood everytime we took a shower. A small door modification would cure this. This is no issue with us, but it must be hell for the housekeeping staff. The room was adequate, comfy and QUIET! The elevator is standard 19th century, and very slow. We laughed every time we had to use it, as we could walk up three floors three times by time the elevator arrived. No Big Deal.

It was all great but breakfast could have been better. Not enough food out on a number of occasions and variety could have been better It is a bit noisy in the evenings as there’s a lively bar downstairs but it didn’t bother us at all but might bother others. The bar had a great apres-ski vibe!

The staff were very friendly and the hotel is a nice walking distance to wherever we wanted to go. The breakfast was also good. We could see Aguille du Midi from our room which was a lovely way of saying good morning every day :)!

We did book a small room, was just really small for a lot of suitcases, but for us it was fine. Unfortunately no kettle was available for us to use, but we truly enjoyed the coffee at the buffet breakfast.

Hotel Gustav is located right in front of the main train station, and is within walking distance of the town centre. All the major attractions, or the ways to get to them, can be accessed quite easily. The room was small but quite comfortable. The staff at the reception and the restaurant were super friendly and helpful. Actually, that was the best part. Nice value for money too. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was neat but a bit dusty in places. As I have a dust allergy, it was a bit problematic for a few minutes but I could quickly overcome it. The room and bathroom were quite clean otherwise. While waiting in the lobby for our bus, my wife happened to visit the WC near the restaurant, and was horrified at how dirty it was. This was the only negative aspect of an otherwise excellent stay.

We loved this hotel. We stayed here after completing the Tour du Mont Blanc (with a tent) and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the comforts of a hotel room after our adventure. The hotel and room were very cozy, beautifully decorated with warm colours and a luxurious feel. The bed was fantastic and so was the shower. Location perfect, right next to the train station (no noise) and with a few steps you are in Chamonix' main streets where all the shops and restaurants are. The receptionist (short blond hair, glasses, earrings) was very friendly, thank you!

Great location and parking available on site. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was great with the ability to open the window to keep it cool inside. It was a bit noisy initially as I had a room facing where the restaurants/bars are located but not bad at all. Eventually it was really quiet. Bed was comfy and bathroom was nice and clean and had amenities, including shower gel and shampoo.

I guess maybe have breakfast included for all folks staying in the hotel would be nice. Didn't realize it was not included in my stay. Probably in the description and I just missed it. Most hotels have it included in the reservation but I missed that part. I ended up just paying for a coffee and grabbing something from the bakery.

The staff at the hotel, all of them, were extremely kind. They helped us from the very beginning by getting our luggage from another place in the city, took us to the bus station on the day of check-out, and also gave us great instructions about the city. It was really, really, really good! The hotel's location is also great. It's close to the city center, the train station, and the view is amazing. We will always return to Gustavia whenever we are in Chamonix.

unfortunately it was too noisy the night we stayed there - first we heard some screams from the pub downstairs - probably someone was having a hen party until 11 pm (thanks god no later) and then they went to their rooms upstairs on our floor while being drunk and noisy - sound isolation isn't great in the corridor. Moreover, I believe the hotel uses central heating, as I wasn't able to control the temperature in the room but it wasn't too cold, I just wish it was slightly warmer in the room...
