Really nicely refurbished, combing modern comfort with historical charm in stunning setting . Staff very keen to please and very professional. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Overall, quite expensive, (we knew that in advance) but we thought fully worth it and we plan to return.

No nearby cafe...but that's personal as I don't eat a lot for breakfast so there was no point in adding a breakfast to my boooking.

We came to stay 14 years ago and loved it to much we returned. There were a few minor changes but the fabulousness remained the same and the changes were positive! Love this special place so much and the restaurant is superb. We will be back.

Have stayed here several times. Always excellent. The breakfast is particularly good and served in a very friendly manner and very efficiently. Dinner at the nearby L'Atelier d'Etoges is worth trying. The hotel staff are very helpful with ad-hoc requests (such as keeping food in the fridge/freezer or storing cases of wine in a cool room). Access to Epernay by car is easy.

Hardly the fault of the property but our two day stay this time coincided with two days of rain in the midst of heatwaves. Not much to do in these conditions. If it's your first visit to the area book a few more days just in case.

We recently stayed at Château d’Étoges for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the impeccable hospitality and professionalism of the staff. The champagne was exquisite, perfectly complementing the enchanting ambiance of the château. Both dining experiences exceeded our expectations. L’Orangerie provided a Michelin-star-worthy dinner that was a true culinary masterpiece, while the other restaurant offered equally remarkable cuisine with refined flavors and presentation. Breakfast was an experience in itself—abundant, fresh, and absolutely worth it. It provided the perfect start to our day, ensuring we were well-prepared for exploring the beautiful Champagne region. We wholeheartedly recommend Château d’Étoges to anyone seeking an unforgettable stay. Whether for a honeymoon, a romantic escape, or simply a luxurious retreat, this gem is unparalleled.

Beautiful building with tons of character and snappable corners full of castle walls, turrets, moats, fountains and gardens. The breakfast was nice with good choice of food (in French terms) and the welcome touch of champagne - even if it was additional to the room price and quite pricey at €25 pp The dinner a L'Orangerie was very nice, with tasty and interesting dishes and a classy environment - but again, coming with the high-ish price tag

The room did not have air-conditioning, but just a large and noisy fan sat on the floor - not ideal for a quiet night of sleep. Also, the bed was very small and with a very thick duvet, far too warm for summer - also because turning the fan off was not an option, as the room would immediately become very stuffy.

The Chateau is delightful. Our room was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed and bathroom. We celebrated my birthday at the Bistro restaurant, which we enjoyed. The breakfast service in the Chateau was fantastic - the staff were terrific!

The room in the Chateau was a little hot during our stay; however fans were provided, which was great. (no air-conditioning) I was a little disappointed that the hotel did not provide a "house gift" (wine, voucher or birthday note) in our room on arrival, as we were celebrating a significant birthday booked months in advance and confirmed by email. We were also travelling with a group of friends from Australia and Germany - 5 rooms (10 guests). As property hosts in Australia, we felt the hotel lacked a spirit of generosity.

The gastronomic restaurant needs major changes, it is potentially superb and needs to greatly improve the service which was amateur at best and the food needs great improvement, whilst generally fine, in a hotel of this calibre and with food at this price the standard should basically reach Michelin 1 star level or close. If this could be achieved then this would be a destination to be truly be envied. As it stands I think the restaurant is taking advantage of its position of being the only nearby fine dining veniue and not delivering the standard required of its guests.

Breakfast and Dinner were exceptional. The menu for dinner was good, a bit confusing at first as to which menu to choose as all options basically had the same dishes but with different price offers. The staff were very attentive and experienced. Food was amazing, prepared to perfection and presented with style. Breakfast was extensive with plenty of choice. Well presented and fresh.

For breakfast it would have been better if the staff were more available and attentive particularly regarding the coffee - we had to search for coffee and refills. Early morning (around 5.30) the fire alarm activated. The way this was attended to by the hotel was very poor. The only member of staff in the building did not know what was happening or what to do - this was a potentially very serios situation and there was absolutely no procedure. no assistance and no knowledge of what to do. This needs reviewing. Additionally, there was very little reassurance or apology for the disruption and lack of management - only compensation was a jar of honey!

The grounds of the chateau were really pleasant. The staff were amazing and we felt really well looked after. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

I felt a bit trapped in that were no other food or drink options nearby and the prices offered in the chateau and their linked restaurants didn’t feel like good value for money for what you got. We were pretty disappointed with the restaurant L'Atelier d'Etoges, the more casual restaurant.
