We loved the deck along the sea— so special in the morning or any other time. We loved the quiet neighbourhood. We especially loved the walk from this hotel into the city along the sea and park and beach— so lovely in the morning light, and walking home this way in the evening, leaving the crowds, the quiet small groups on the beach, the moon over the line of boats, the glamour of Cafe Barriere en route. This year too we discovered the Mail itself with the tree lined walk in also nice.

We would love a bit of cooked breakfast and better coffee.

The helpful welcome, useful advice on restaurant options in La Rochelle and booking service created very positive first impressions. The hotel and room are comfortably laid out and the interior decor is notable for the artistry and positive experience it created. We enjoyed a beautiful view and as sailors, loved watching the passing boats.

The additional costs and tone of notifications instructing guests on how to behave! Parking is an additional cost and breakfast is an additional cost. There may be practical reasons for this, but we feel they should be contained within the accommodation costs which somehow make them more palatable.

We asked for a room with a sea view room and that is what we got. Fabulous balcony and stunning views of sea and marina. Continental breakfast was very nice also. Breakfast times really suited us. You did not have to book a time just arrive before 10.30

No evening meal facilities. But we knew that before we arrived. There was a great selection of restaurants in La Rochelle all within a short walk. I liked everything about the hotel.

We had a lovely room with a great sea view. It was clean and comfortable with all the facilities we required. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The terrace was nice to sit on with sun loungers, umbrellas, chairs and tables etc. It was a 20 minute walk into La Rochelle but there was also a regular bus Monday to Saturday. There is a small bar / bistro a couple of minutes walk away and the neighbourhood is quiet.

Breakfast is not included in the room cost and you have to pay extra. We had it in the room each day for an additional charge which was worth it but the selection / choice of breakfast foods was a little limited in my opinion. Value for money wise, breakfast could be better - more choices, better quality items (the croissants I found to be a little hard) The TV channels were also very limited and some didn't work or the reception was poor - I know most people don't want to watch TV on holiday but it's good to have as a back up in case the weather isn't great or you want to watch a film in the evening

Lovely hotel set about an easy and flat 2km walk from the centre. Comfortable rooms and fabulous view of the sea and harbour. Good safe parking which can be pre-booked.

No air conditioning in the rooms so in the height of summer this could be an issue as the rooms are very warm. Also we tried to get a drink one evening about 10pm and was told by the night porter it was not possible even though the hotel brochure said we could be served up to 11pm.

The room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfy. The hotel had a beautiful position and gorgeous views. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient in all they did.

The room was warm due to the heat coming from the fridge. The toilet extract fan was not workingcso a ceiling tile was slightly moved for ventilation. The drive from the road to the hotel needs attention, as a big pothole.

It was right in the seashore. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was parking available at the property. It was within 20mins walk of all the restaurants and ancient town centre. The walk to the man part of the town was beautiful and very dog friendly.

If I had to find something amongst all the great stuff it would only be a preferential thing. I would have preferred warm pastries at breakfast.

Staff were lovely and it was clean and view over sea was great. Could hear the waves at night and the breakfast was really good.

It is not on a beach while it is right on the sea swimming is not nice and you cannot get any depth. It is a little bit out of town but nice 10 min walk.

Very friendly staff. Good location with an easy walk along the coast to the centre of town. Good breakfast. Lovely seafront terrace.

Hotel details specified that parking could be reserved but did not mention that it was chargeable. We had two cars so the charge for two nights added a considerable amount to our bill. There is nowhere else nearby to park, so it seems a bit mean to charge guests who are staying in the hotel an additional charge for parking.

View was great at this time of year from the deck or room balcony. Breakfast was good quality but variety a little thin. Room a little small but clean comfortable and great value. The 1 mile walk into town along the harbour front is very enjoyable late summer.
