We had a delicious breakfast with fresh breads, fruit, yogurt, juice and hot beverages. We stayed for one week and slept well despite having a room that faced the street. Location in between park and the historic center, perfect! So interesting with Indian and Asian artifacts along with La Rochelle's history. This chambre d'hote is a jewel. Outstanding hosts who also helped with a concert reservation and local events such as a garden tour.

Beroze and Michel are your hosts in this extraordinary, historic town house, resplendent with beautiful Indian antiquities & treasures, along with La Rochelle historic pieces. That we couldn’t stay longer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Berose was friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful, booking a couple of really nice restaurants for us. The house has an interesting history and many interesting artefacts, and our room was clean and spacious.

Being on the main road, we couldn't have the windows open, which was a shame. And the 15Euro/day parking fee came as a bit of a shock (although we knew that the property didn't have its own parking available).

A strange but very nice place in the centre of La Rochelle. The decorations are beautifully bizarre. The room we stayed in was very quiet, even while being in the centre of La Rochelle. Restaurant Koya (Japanse, Peruvian) is nearby and certainly worth checking out.

Out of the ordinary with a touch of class. Remarkable surroundings. You will be staying in a museum of eastern heritage. Quite stunning La Rochelle is a most agreeable French town with restaurants that please in great measure. This property puts you near the centre and a walk from anywhere worth seeing. The architecture of the town is quite breathtaking and this Chambre D’hotes allows you first hand to experience of what it is like to live in one of the many classic French properties. Far more enriching than staying in a traditional hotel. For three days we felt part of this historic town rather than as outsiders visiting. Hosts are friendly and welcoming

Very enjoyable experience, hosts were lovely, friendly and welcoming, also helpful with information on local area. Interesting tour of the residence and it's and La Rochelle's history.

Possible use of a fridge would have been handy to keep drinks cool and maybe tea/coffee making facilities in area.

A lovely couple hosted our stay whom were very welcoming & helpful with recommendations for places to visit. Wonderful location, very close to main thoroughfare, yet our room was very peaceful.

La Residence des Indes is run by a lovely lady who welcomed us into her unusual and interesting home. This town house had a beautiful courtyard in the centre and our room was very big and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

The house was beautiful and clean, and the beds were very comfy, great location and the hosts were very helpful. A lot of history in this house.

The breakfast was not what we expected for such a lovely place, could have had more choice and quantity.

Staying in a property that is also a museum brought a different dimension to our stay and Michel’s interest and knowledge of the items displayed added to our enjoyment of them. Beroze helped us find some excellent dining and the location was perfect for exploring the town.

Nothing in the way Michel and Beroze looked after us. They were lovely engaging hosts.
