My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon in La Rochelle and were delighted to have chosen Entre Hotes as our location to celebrate. The host, Olivier was incredibly welcoming, friendly, attentive, and had a wealth of knowledge about the area. The accommodation itself is very tidy and situated in a beautiful traditional French guesthouse in the heart of La Rochelle and near every amenity and attraction possible. 5 minute walk to the port, the beach, the markets. Literally in the middle of everything you would want to see. The location was excellent. We stayed in the private room to the rear of the property and had our own private entrance and exit as well as sun loungers and a picturesque terrace surrounded by flowers for our breakfast. The room was very tidy and cleaned regularly during our stay. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure was strong, and the bath was very spacious and romantic. The breakfast was brought to us by Olivier every morning and was a delicious variety of breads, pastries, cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit, fresh juice and coffee. It was a great way to start every day. La Rochelle itself is best explored by walking or cycling, and the location really enabled us to enjoy it to the full extent! Entre Hotes is truly is an authentic experience and I would advise anyone visiting La Rochelle to consider this location. When we return to La Rochelle, we will be back to this spot! Merci Olivier!

Nothing, perfect stay with everything we needed.

A picture-perfect guesthouse just minutes from the port but hidden away on a quiet side street. Olivier, our host, was warm and gregarious and clearly has great pride in his townhouse. It's a beautiful historic home with a leafy courtyard at the back and a beautifully maintained garden. We step outside and it feels like being in the middle of the countryside. Birds are singing and a gentle breeze rustles the leaves in the trees overhead. We can't hear any traffic at all. Our room is a converted wine cave hidden away at the bottom of the garden with a big double bed and a huge bath. There are candles and low lighting and it's all very romantic. We have our own private entrance and a little terrace at the front with a table and chairs where our breakfast is served every morning. We also have access to a second private terrace, surrounded by trees and plants, with sun loungers and a parasol for a lazy siesta. It's a little slice of heaven. Each morning, Olivier arrives with our breakfast tray. Light dapples through the leaves overhead as we make our way through a delightful feast of yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheese and crusty bread, and a large basket of sweet treats to accompany our coffee. Can there be a nicer way to start the day?

I'm reluctant to note anything negative as we had such a lovely time but just two small things: the lack of a shower (there is just a bath) and the lack of a bathroom door, which meant a lack of privacy.

lovely old property, original features preserved and in a great location. very helpful, friendly owner (Olivier).

just a minor thing but can hear movement above/below and around the property very easily, felt at times like other people were in the room with us but resolved with ear plugs at night. no real communal spaces but perhaps part of being in a guesthouse rather than small hotel.

My reason for going to La Rochelle was more to escape for a few days from the building site which is my current home in Bordeaux while renovation works are completed, so to have a warm, dry and tastefully-decorated room to enjoy with a lovely view over a mature garden was very relaxing. Having breakfast provided by someone else instead of having to piece it together from a kettle plugged in in one room, a fridge in my bedroom and crockery and cutlery in a third location was also a pleasant change! As I insist on large bath towels at home, I very much appreciated the large bath sheet provided in the bathroom - not a feature of other places I have stayed!. Olivier gave me a lot of information both about the history of the house and what to do in La Rochelle while I was there and this was also very helpful.

I enjoyed sampling some of the great restaurants Olivier recommended, but it would have been useful to have a small fridge in the room or access to a fridge to keep some small food items for one meal at least.

The owner could not have been more helpful and kind. Decor had clearly been chosen with care and taste. Breakfast was generous and tasty. After a slightly juddery start, we had a wonderful stay.

Having to double park - awaiting parking instructions, was not something I’d care to repeat - some passing motorists were not happy either. Time taken for entry was also not ideal. It would have been nice to be able to sit in the garden in the evening too.

The property was stately and beautiful, especially the garden where we took our breakfast. Olivier takes great pride in his hosting, proudly sharing the property's history (in English and French), offering spot-on recommendations for things to do and for dining in the area, and tending to our every need. Overall, a delightful stay and highly recommended!

This is a marvelous place to discover La Rochelle. It offers a comfy room/bathroom, in a quiet place close to the cente of La Rochelle. The host is very friendly and open to help you discover this marvelous region. There is a parking option which is certainly worth using, and the breakfast in the litle yard is great.

large bedroom and bathroom with a large window overlooking the garden, which was very pleasant. lovely decor.

the air conditioning did not work, so it was very hot at night, even with the window open. I contacted the host about it but he said it was working. There was no cold air coming out of the vent at all no matter how low we set the temperature on the control. the couple in the room next to us had the same problem.
