The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. We had our dog with us and she was made to feel welcome too! The ambience is laid back and relaxed. The breakfast is continental style but plentiful, with gluten free options and soja products. The hotel couldn't get any closer to the telecabines. The rooms and beds may need refreshing soon as they are not entirely modern, but it wouldn't stop us from returning as it's such a nice hotel with lovely staff. Looking forward to next year already!

Another plug or two in the room would be great as these days people have lots of gadgets.

My Brother and I Stayed at Le Rookie mountain hotel as we were booked to ski in the Grand Bornand ski resort for the week. We booked this as we were right across the street from le Rosay ski lift which was perfect to get up and go in the Morning. It’s also a short walk into the village where we had a lot of options of where to eat and shop. We also enjoyed the onsite food and facilities. Le Rookie mountain has a calm and quiet feel which is great afternoon a long day of Skiing. The bar was also nice to visit and get a snack and beer to wind down after a good Ski session. The Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful and welcoming. We really felt very welcomed and at home for our stay. Our room was spacious and had all the room and facilities we needed. Very comfortable beds and nice big bathroom. Thank you to everyone at Le Rookie mountain hotel. We can’t wait to come again.

Superb location next to the ski lift with rental shop underneath the hotel. Great value for money in a great place. Room was cosy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was well organised in a spacious breakfast room.

Room was on third floor with lots of steps - ok for us but ask in advance if this might be an issue. You can order drinks from the snack bar, but it would be nice for the bar inside the hotel to be open. Bathroom decor was dated but it didn’t bother us. Our room was quite small but fine for 4 nights. No hot options at breakfast and no variation throughout the week, but we enjoyed it nevertheless. We loved our stay and would stay again.

Amazing location, very comfortable and inviting with a shared lounge, breakfast area and bar. Very pleasant snack restaurant just outside, and a ski rental (with hotel discount) underneath. The staff were kind and accommodating, everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast was nothing extravagant but there was plenty of choice. Nice croissants.

The rooms were cosy but may benefit from a bit of modernization - more plugs, better lights and a lick of paint. Also, minor gripe but the bed was a little on the small side.

Had an unexpectedly fantastic stay at Rookie mountain. I booked an ad hoc last minute short, budget stay for myself and my son. For the money I wasn’t expecting a perfect location, very friendly staff, and a great inclusive breakfast .

It’s nearly perfect for the money, the Hotel is right by the slopes. To be super critical, the bath tub is about 4ft long, doubles up a shower, and has no shower curtain, so the bathroom becomes bit of a wet room, that a side, the rooms are warm, clean and cosy.

This is a friendly smallish hotel which is just lovely. The staff were very helpful, especially when we wished to check out late (skiing on the last day). The location is unbeatable for skiing (lifts and buses to the other resort of La Clusaz) are 2 minutes walk.

Breakfast was quite basic. Fruit, toast, croissants, and good coffee. An egg or some cold meats would have been nice. But there was plenty of it and nicely presented.

Very kind staff gave us a warm welcome. The hotel is on a great location with a parking spot for clients. Het town of Le Grand Bornand offers enough bars and restaurants in walking distance. The price was excellent for the room and breakfast was included.

The shower had no curtain so everything was wet and the beds were rather old.

Perfect location and distance from the main ski lift to where the kids had their lessons! Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast and choice of sandwiches available for lunch and dinner on request. Good value for money, would definitely recommend for a family ski week away!

Not much to say other than our room didn't have a shower you could stand up in.

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel I have to following our recent stay in this fantastic no-frills B&B hotel. Located right by Le Rosay and La Joyere gondolas, it gives easy access to the mountain and you can ski back almost to the door. Buses to La Clusaz stop opposite the hotel if you want a larger ski area. Although our bedroom was compact, it was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. You can spread out in the guest lounge which has an open fire and you can be served drinks and snacks bought from the window. There is also a ski locker for each room. And, of course, the great breakfast.

I have no complaints whatsoever, but I'd have given ten stars if the coffee machine was available for an apres-ski coffee or hot chocolate.

The location was amazing: very very close to the ski lift and to 2 ski rental shops, and yet no more than 10min walk to the village center with other shops and restaurants. They had a ski locker at no extra fees. They packed our breakfast on the last day so we could have it despite leaving super early. The staff is super nice in general, including the staff of the snack bar. We ordered food from the snack below, and they delivered it to the hotel's living room, and they also added wood to the fire so we would be cosy. Honestly very nice people.

The ski lockers area is not very convenient to use. It's very tight, and there are a couple stairs to go down. Also the light is timed and the timer is short, and the door auto-closes rather quickly, so we often end up in the darkness if we take too long to take our equipment or put on ski shoes. The rooms are not very sound proof. This wasn't a big problem, though, as we woke up early to go skiing. The bathtub in our room was pretty small, more like shower-sized. We couldn't lie down in it after the ski day (you could if you're really flexible, but I'm not sure it would be comfortable).
