The hotel is old and dates back at least 4 centuries giving it a certain 'olde worlde' charm. Whilst presenting the modern conveniences of wifi and a lift, with a seating area and free coffee during the day. The reception were all very welcoming and kind. Especially when I locked my key card in my room. And when, due to peace, calm and comfy bed, I overslept and missed breakfast I was offered a coffee and something to eat me to tide me over before my train. The location is also very central to the Latin quarter, so perfect for sightseeing or dining out.

This hotel is not like your typical hotel. It looks like an old palace that they turned into a hotel. Big wooden beams add to it's charm. The (included) breakfast croissants are to dye for! There is conveniently a large grocerie store right next to the hotel where you can buy food, any toiletries, beer and even bought an adapter for my "Canadian" hair dryer. The staff is extremely friendly and super helped (even in English). Very reasonably priced for being so close to everything. Closest metro is St-Michel. When you walk out of the hotel, instead of turning "right" and go eat in the Quartier Latin, turn "left" and eat in St-André area instead. The quality of the food is sooo much better!

The Hotel du Lys is tucked away in a nice quiet street with cafes , Metro ,Notre Dame etc just around the corner. The hotel is small but full of character and the staff were especially helpful & friendly. My room was spotlessly clean & serviced daily.The breakfast was fresh & well presented with a good selection on offer, I especially liked the cheeses, fresh fruit & croissants. I was thrilled to have my own balcony high up among the rooftops , complete with bistro table & chairs & troughs of geraniums ! Being on the 4th floor I appreciated the lift, even though it was tiny. I think a large chap may have difficulty squeezing in ! After checking out I was very pleased to be able to leave my suitcase in the lobby armoire for a few hours enabling me to do some final sightseeing unencumbered .

The room could do with a new carpet .

was clear, white towel not as like comments from other hotel. Old buying but clean, banio is also good. we need to understand everyone has own demands but bathroo. was good medium large , hot water, u cam close a door., breakfast cheese, cofe , bagets ,cruasseans, yourt, gams, fruits - enough. u can come.paire but all was good. staff also good.we would like to choose one more time. location is soon perfect.Louvre, notr dam , kafe, malls, 30 min by bus Tiyr Eiffel.just assansör was soooo little. First time.e we saw it but again. it's nothing. u can go on one bh one.its not a flaw

last day assansör didn't work but it can happen also at home.so all was perfect.

Building dates from the 1700's, no two rooms are alike, ceilings have wooden beams, elevator as tight as a matchbox squeezed in... Rooms romantic, lots of old wood paneling and romantic wallpaper, empire style furniture. Oldfashioned bathtubs too: handheld shower (but yes, grab bars). So if you like a bit quirky, far from cookie cutter chains, this is it! Oh, decent breakfast in great setting... Marvelous location!

The lighting in some rooms is very minimal ("guests like it romantic", says owner). There may be no sockets close to your bed. The TV is up there where it is hard to see, and anyway, only French channels - bring your tablet or laptop!

We stayed at the property for two nights and had such a great experience. The staff were super helpful (we were even walked out to the bus stop after check out so we knew which was the right one to the station). Our bed was incredibly comfortable, there was plenty of storage space in our room and we overlooked the beautiful building across the street. Breakfast was super, there was a coffee machine available all day and the decor was gorgeous. The location could not have been more perfect too, we were able to get the RER B straight from the airport to around the corner and so many sites were in walking distance (including Notre Dame and Shakespeare and Co).

We still loved everything but will warn that the lift is very small and it is a winding staircase up to the rooms.

Quaint and clean. Beds are very comfy. Concierge Jean Camille funny and friendly. Location perfect. Breakfast fresh and delicious.

Stairs were rickety - but we managed

I liked the hospitality of the front desk personnel. He even helped me with the phone charging problem. Also, I liked the size of my room and its interior, except the pictures, but I am a nun, and other people might like them. Most of all I liked the breakfast: it was plain, but generous. And I liked the document on the entrance wall, telling the history of the hotel. Spectacular!

There was no shampoo in the shower dispenser. Zero. So, no shower for me. There was some liquid soap in the sink dispenser, coming in minuscule drops. I washed with water from the sink. Unlike the room that was surprisingly less tiny than an average room in a modest Parisian hotel, the elevator was the tiniest of all I have ever seen in Paris. Just enough room for one person and one suitcase, both of average size. I do not complain, and only mention this as a curiosity.

Location is excellent, bordering Boulevards of San Jarrmen and San Michel, Cite, with Notr Dame, Latin quartal in the neighborhood, Metro stations in about 100 meters. Staff is vary friendly, good French stile breakfast was served. We had a cozy twin room, small balcony, with pot flowers, Only consider for the upper rooms that the lift has a narrow cabin. For us even climbing the stairs was not difficult but any way, It is normal for Paris.

The location of this hotel is phenomenal, close to the metro and RER, close to Notre-Dame and a bunch of other stuff! Plenty of cafes, restaurants and supermarkets near it as well! As for the hotel itself it was absolutely gorgeous! It's inside of an old mansion and it's very historical with a lot of original pieces from the mansion remaining! I was very happy with the hotel, I'll definitely stay here again and recommend it to people.
