This stylish little hotel in Pigalle offers a good starting point for exploring the neighbouring areas of Montmarte, Grand boulevards, Park Monceau and, of course, Clichy and Pigalle itself. We booked a superior room that came with a large bed, floor-to-ceiling windows and a small kitchenette. The windows overlooked a large courtyard. Being located on the 4th floor meant that we could see not only the neighbours’ windows, but also a lot of Parisian sky. The room was small, but not too small for Parisian standards. The room was clearly designed with the purpose of fitting the right set of furniture into the limited space available to ensure comfortable stay. The bed dominated the room - as it probably should in a hotel. The quality of bed linen is exceptional and the mattress and pillows are very good. The small kitchenette had all the appliances and cutlery needed for preparing a breakfast or cold/warm snack. There is a Nespresso coffee mashine, KitchenAid kettle and a supply of coffee capsules and tea sachets, replenished daily. If one complements that with some excellent baguettes and croissants available from one of the bakeries around the corner - the breakfast is ready to be enjoyed right in the room. The hotel’s staff were nice and friendly. The lobby was small but stylish and welcoming. We didn’t use the restaurant or the bar, but the area looked quite attractive too. We were also offered an opportunity to book a private access to the hotel sauna and a pool. While we didn’t have time to enjoy this offer, it was nice to have it as an option.

On the improvement side we would mention that the bathroom needs some update: the rubber on a rain-shower head went amiss on a few holes, making the water pressure uneven. The wardrobe is extremely small and there is hardly any other storage space available. Another point is that the music in the bar downstairs is on until 11:00-11:30 pm and is loud enough to be heard even with the windows closed. It was not a big issue for us, but it can be for some, so it would be better if the bar goes quiet at more commonly accepted 10 pm.

The location was in a good neighborhood The room was very clean and serviced with fresh linen each day. The staff were incredibly nice and very accommodating. It was quiet, no outside noise disrupting our sleep. Air conditioned room was lovely. The restaurant on site had great service and food.

The only thing I didn't like and it wasn't a deal breaker at all but the faucet on the sink leaked a little around the base leaving the sink quite wet after use.

Loved this hotel. It is really well appointed, has a great bar and restaurant (of sorts), a very pleasant outdoor patio area, and is on a nice quiet street. Cafés and small shops are located just around the corner. Customer service was excellent. I was told as I was checking out that the hotel had just been upgraded to a four-star rating, something it had been working on for some time. The upgrade is well deserved.

Our room was small. I know this is to be expected in Paris, but still, one can hope. Our room was decorated with dark tones and very small lights, so it was darker overall than we like. Also, we had to ask for directions on how to use the light switches. (They require a quick tap in either the off or on position, and then a two or three second wait for them to turn off or on. Instructions on using the switches would have helped us foreigners.) Other than these two small issues, we like this hotel a lot.

Centrally located - 15-20 minute walk to the Seine, Montmartre etc. Quiet street, plenty of cafe's within easy walking distance, nearest Metro 5-10 minutes walk. Used the pool and sauna - you get exclusive access as it's a small pool with room for one swimmer only (you book at reception). We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we were in Paris to see friends so ate in local cafe's. Room was a good size for a City location, with all amenities you'd expect (including a little kitchenette).

Everything except breakfast

Breakfast - this was the poorest and most “complicated” breakfast in my life… “Ordering procedure” took 30-45 minutes every morning. From some reason, you are choosing from menu where, realisticly speaking - you do not have a choice… You wait for table for 15 min, ordering lasts for 15 min and then you wait for the food for 15 min ( I am not joking…)… Pls fix this…

Sincerely one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in Paris. A beautifully designed hotel; elegant, practical, simple and stylish. Extremely well appointed, it has everything the discerning traveller could wish for, without being a gram over the top. Discretion. Oxfords, not Brogues. Book-ending the day with a sauna and a swim in the sublime private spa was magnificent! I seldom write reviews, but when I write glowing ones, it’s for the staff, who in the case of Ballu, I found to be capable, courteous, considerate, generous in their hospitality and welcome and as elegant as their environment! Chapeau!

I’ve not got one negative word to say. Just a minor caution, don’t let the Billecart Brut attract the Bling crowd!

Wonderful property on the 9th arrondissement, a bit far from the city center and the attractions but manageable and not deterring at all. The staff is friendly, especially the manager Thomas. The rooms and bathroom are spacious, clean with a unique classic French decor. We stayed for 3 consecutive nights and stayed an additional night after our weekend in Monaco. Highly recommend this hotel.

Gorgeous small hotel in a fabulous location, close to but not in the midst of busy Montmartre. Spotlessly clean. Lovely restaurant area with a great breakfast included and additional items also available at a cost. Great for cocktails in the evening too. Brilliant air conditioning which was very much needed during our stay. Would definitely come again.

The room was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. The room had a king bed and double sinks in the bathroom, so it was comfortable for 2 guests. The restaurant was fantastic and the bar area was very nice. The staff was helpful and friendly.

My room wasn't ready at the 3 p.m. check-in, but the staff apologized and provided me with a nice glass of wine in the lounge while I waited.

Hôtel Le Ballu is a beautifully decorated little hotel perfect for a cozy stay in Pariz. Close to Metro on Montmartre, but secluded from all the noise of surrounding bars. Staff is amazingly welcoming and very helpful. Their restaurant is a must try! Reserve it first and then enjoy French couisine taken to a top level. Price per value in all aspects. Would love to have stayed longer.

I had a flood in my room and had to be moved in the midst of night. Staff handled it beautifully and professionally. Apart from that - my stay there was perfect.
