I went to Paris for the Olympics and I had a wonderful time. As well as enjoying every moment of the Games, I also really enjoyed staying at Hôtel Verlaine. The hotel was very clean and tidy. It was also in a very central location, close to the metro and close to lots of shops and restaurants. However the best thing about Hôtel Verlaine was the amazing host 'Elodie' who went out of her way to make every guest feel special and to help in any way that she could. My very happy memories of Paris 2024 will always include Elodie and Hôtel Verlaine.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. Good price. Clean room and bathroom, fresh bedsheet, towels, comfortable bed, hot shower. No smell. The location is perfect, very close to the metro station, couple stops and you are in the center. There are some cafes and restaurants on the street where you can have breakfast or dinner. The owner of the hotel is super welcoming, helpful and charming. I highly recommend this hotel.

A wonderful family run boutique hotel in a great location in Butte aux Cailles. The owner was so so nice as soon as arrived. After a 25 hour flight and arriving in the morning, she asked if I wanted to have a shower in one of the rooms that had checked out so I could freshen up before exploring beautiful Paris for the day. What a lifesaver! My room opened onto the main street with a lovely view. It was super clean and a great size for Paris budget hotel standards. The location is great with Place d'Italie just <10min away and several metro lines running through. The Latin Quarter, my favourite neighbourhood, is also just 15-20min walk away.

The pillows were very flat and weren't comfortable for me. Walls are also very thin but that's expected with most older buildings in the city.

Actually a good hotel - well located with metro lines close by and some nice bars/restaurants and bakeries opposite. The best thing about my room was that it was facing a courtyard so very quiet which is unusual for 1 or 2 star hotels in Paris which are usually noisy. Everything was clean and the staff were very helpful. I thought it is very good value for what it is and I would also say the area is ideal in terms of places not in the very centre but accessible

Be aware there is no lift if you are not so able bodied. Also perhaps a safe in the room would be useful to keep valuable belongings although I did not have any problems in terms of anything missing but still nice to have a safe.

Apart from the location of the hotel, I especially liked how much they cared about me as a guest. Friendly, helpful, obliging, every wish was fulfilled. I didn't feel like a guest, but like a member of the family. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms had so much charm. I stayed there for 2 days and would have loved to stay longer. I was in Paris because I was doing a "bike race". For that, I needed peace and quiet above all. I got enough of that. Once again, a big thank you for that. I arrived in Neu-Breisach after 26 hours, for your information ;-). I hope I can come back to Paris soon and stay in your beautiful hotel.

The welcome you receive when you walk in is fantastic and throughout your stay the host is friendly and very accommodating. Definite b&b feel. A morning coffee was on offer every morning. The location is outside the tourist area (if that is a problem), but the metro is only a 5-10 minute walk. I was guided to go a street over for a drink and I was very pleasantly surprised to find a village strip with great cafes and bars which gave the location an authentic local Parisian feel which added to my stay. The room, while small is comfortable. I booked a single and was pleasantly surprised the size of the bed. The bathroom was small, but had everything you need. My room faced the street and it was reasonably quiet.

The room could do with a ceiling fan for the warmer nights.

The staff. Wow! I arrived late at night (because of my flight) and this was no issue. The owner is simply fantastic. She is kind and extremely helpful. She remembered my coffee order after the first night and breakfast was ready and waiting to go every morning (Breakfast was 10/10). I was blown away with the level of service provided and I absolutely will stay here again when I return to Paris.

Nothing. The hotel itself is limited due to the buildings age but that is out of their hands. As long as you are aware there is no lift and can handle the stairs, you will have a wonderful stay.

It’s a great cozy family run hotel in a cute less touristy part of Paris. I was staying during the Olympics, and the owner was extremely kind. I had not paid for late check out, but she even offered me to stay and rest a bit after check out time after returning from seeing the marathon that morning. This made for a great trip to Paris, even as someone who has not always loved Paris in the past.

There is no air conditioning, so be aware of that in the summer. While you could open the windows, there may be mosquitoes so just be prepared. None of this is the hotel’s fault as this is common to Paris.

There is so much to like: it’s clean, the street is quiet in front and the rooms are quiet too (even more so in the back), great friendly helpful least-available staff, village-like neighborhood with small local shops, quite a variety of nice places to eat or have a drink, well-connected by metro and so easy to get anywhere in the center.

There’s nothing to complain about, but it’s worth noting (which is clear from the hotel description) that there is no air-conditioning and no lift/elevator. I found this no problem at all, but there were only mild summer days. The staff also offered to help with the bags if needed. If I have to look for something to improve, it might be that the shower temperature sometimes varies and the interior appears just a little dated.

The staff is phenomenal. I was travelling solo for the first time and it was my first visit in Paris. I felt so safe and comfortable, knowing i could easily turn to someone if i needed any support or help. I cannot stress it enough how geniuenly nice Élodie (the hotel manager is). It honestly made me feel like i found a friend to come back to Paris too! She graciously offered me a bigger room because I was staying there longer and was very flexible with my request of late check out.

I lIKED EVERYTHING. But to be a fair reviewer i would agree with other reviews about location, shower pressure, and thin walls. But that did not affect my experience at all. I would stay here gladly again and would recommend it to everyone i know.
