The hotel is very close to the metro (subway) and it is located in a nice area, with small markets, bakeries, restaurants and shops nearby. Friendly people at the reception. You can fully open the two windows in the room and the one in the bathroom, which is uncommon in most hotels I've been to; that was great! I arrived before check-in time, and was able to leave my bags at the reception. Considering that it is a 1-star hotel, it exceeded my expectations!

The place where you put and adjust the height and inclination of the shower was broken. Also, the door of the shower was not properly working (it was a little bent), so a part of it, at the bottom, would always be open. Very pricy for a 1-star hotel (although it was during the Olympics, so there was probably an overcharge because of that).

Clean, comfortable room with bathroom. Nice hotel staff. Good localization with underground nearby. I would recommend despite the cons.

Poor wifi connection. Sometimes it suddenly stopped working and we had to use our own internet. Breakfast was also really disappointing. Wouldn't recommend buying breakfast for the whole stay. It's better to go to great bakery nearby and buy yourself some fresh bread or croissant.

The hotel is not centrally located, but I think it's in a very good location. It's close to Place d'Italie, where there are lots of metro and bus lines, but you can also walk to many places. Nearby is the Butte aux Cailles, which is a nightlife area with lots of little pubs and restaurants, and it's a very nice atmosphere. On Sundays there is a farmers' market on the nearby Boulevard August Blanqui, which is a delight just to walk through, but you can also buy lots of different kinds of food. On the Place d'Italie itself there are many restaurants (both fast food and more traditional or modern ones). There is also a bakery nearby, and a shop open in the evening. The metro goes everywhere: stations, sights on both sides of the river. There are also night buses N15, N22, N31 and N144. It is also worth taking the bus, as there are many things you can see that you can't by metro. However, the bus often gets stuck in traffic and importantly, you need a different ticket than the metro. So I think the accommodation is in a very good location (e.g. the Louvre is about 20 minutes by metro). The hotel is in a quiet little street, very pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately there is no lift, and e.g. going up to the fourth floor with your suitcase is not so nice (but you only have to do it once up and once down) :-) The staff are very nice. You could leave your suitcase after checking out, and I had the feeling all the time that it was important to them that I had a good time. The room was a good size, the bed was quite comfortable. There was also a fridge in the room, which was very useful. There is a hotplate and microwave if anyone wants to cook. The bathroom was also fair: there was a shower, the bathroom was in good condition. I did not ask for breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. I couldn't connect to the internet, but it wasn't that important, I had my own mobile internet. (If I had asked, they would certainly have helped me connect.

A deposit of €80 is payable on arrival in case something breaks. This is odd, but it's probably due to past events. The lack of a lift makes it difficult for some people to get around on the spiral staircase, which is otherwise very nice. :-)

Good location, plenty of grocery stores and eateries around. The neighborhood seems to be safe.There are some basic utensils so guests can prepare their meals at the room if they prefer so. For Paris (renowned for its creepy cheap accommodations) it is 8 of 10 as a score. I recommend it for a short stay without kids.

The hotel is a bit worn-down, like most inexpensive accommodations in Paris I have been to. There is a security deposit (paid by card) that probably takes some working days to get back. I am currently waiting for it. I checked out today, meaning that I cannot judge about it yet. It is not something I like or dislike, these are the hotel's rules after all.

I don't know where all the negative reviews come from. The staff were super helpful and kind. My room was very clean and cozy. The bed was the comfiest bed I have slept in abroad in a long time. The location was by far the best. I had no issues. I've read some people don't like the tiny bathroom. It was tiny, but I'm used to staying in hostels and that's the usual size of hostel bathrooms, so this wasn't an issue for me.

The only thing I'd have to complain about was the staircase. I was lucky to be only one floor up from the ground. But the stairs were super skinny, and no light was in the stairwell or hallway. So if you're a drinker and you come back drunk, be careful. Or be careful in general. If you have lots of luggage, know there is also no elevator.

The reception is not open 24 hours a day. I threw the keys in the box where the administrator showed it. The deposit of 88 euros has not been returned for a week.

Located in the town centre. Easy access to shopping mall, supermarkets, restaurants, metro, pharmacy and bus stops. The hotel looked neat and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Also had housekeeping service everyday.

The hotel looked a bit old therefore had narrow corridors and staircases. Our room didn’t have shower amenities except for towels and a super skin-drying soap. Also there was no cooler or A/C so we had to leave the window open all the time even at night.

The location is incredible! it’s next to the hub station of three different lines and on a silent street. The staff is just incredibly friendly and helpful! we were in a superior room, it was nothing special, but clean, big enough (for Paris) and had everything you need.

it would be great if there were normal blankets, not the woolen one on top of the bed linen. At night it was a bit too cold under it and out of hygienic reasons.

We were pleasantly surprised! The host was very welcoming and the rooms were nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and there was complementary coffee and tea. The location -even though far from the main tourist attractions- was really convenient due to the fact that there was a metro station 2 mins away with lines leading to the Louvre, Eiffel tower etc. The process with the money we pay as guarantee for damage was really easy actually.

There was hardly any sound insulation so sometimes when the guests on the adjacent room entered or left we would hear it all. One of the two towels came a little ripped but that’s hardly an issue.

We stayed in room 10C for six nights in June. It was clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. The hotel felt very secure and was in a nice area with excellent transport links and good facilities very close by. All the staff were very kind and friendly and we saw them being very helpful with other guests too. For the same price in Paris I think it is impossible / extremely difficult to find anything better than Hotel Roussillon so I would just stay here if it's available. Six nights is a fairly long stay for a city holiday and this hotel was a great choice. For dining out I would definitely recommend Au Petit Bistro on Rue Mouffetard....it's a nice fifteen minute walk or 2 short stops on the metro. The food on the fixed menu is brilliant value for money.

Would be unfair to mention anything small......it was all really good.
