Only 5min walk away from subway station with 3 different lines, so easily connected in all directions. Felt very safe with police station on the same street. The bed was very comfortable, heating was turned on despite only beginning of October, and towels were really clean. For the amount of paid money, much more than you could expect.

The door to the room was a little short leaving too much space (5cm gap by the doormat) thus noise and light from the hallway. But it was easily fixable with a cushion :)

Hotel staff are very friendly. The petit dejeuner (breakfast) spread is EXCELLENT and highly recommended so that you don't have to waste time searching for less desirable alternatives; it included sliced meats and cheeses, breads and pastries with jams and honey, dried and fresh fruit, some granola stuff and yogurt and cherry tomatoes, juices, coffee and tea. The room was clean and comfortable and the street quiet. It's a short stroll from the Place d'Italie metro stop (a great location for those visiting the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle). Truly excellent value for cost.

The bathroom facilities in my room were older and had tolerable quirks or flaws. Notably, the bathtub/shower was higher or higher-walled than usual, and the only thing handy to hang on to when you step out is the freely swinging half-door. It was fine for me, but might be difficult or hazardous for an elderly person with poor mobility.

The reception staff was always friendly and helpful. Hotel is located walking distance from a Metro station. There are restaurants and groceries stores walking distance from the hotel. The police station is literally opposite to the hotel building which guarantees safety.

While the location itself is great, if you have your window open during the night (which was our case because we stayed here in the summer) you will probably be disturbed by the police cars and sirens, but it’s manageable. The room is tiny, but this is an expectation for majority of the hotel rooms in Paris. Bathroom is also tiny, but you will find all you need there.

Cozy and clean place with a delicious breakfast. The staff were helpful and kind. The bed was comfortable and perfect for a good night's sleep. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including an excellent crêperie that offers gluten-free pancakes. It was a quiet and relaxing stay. The metro is very close, and the neighborhood feels safe and pleasant.

The only thing to note is that if you have a window facing the front of the building, there's a grill-place restaurant nearby — so sometimes you'll notice the smell of cooking. Occasionally, you might also hear police officers talking loudly on the street. But overall, it's city life at its best.

I had an absolutely delightful stay at Hôtel des Ecrivains. From the moment I arrived, the staff provided exceptional service—warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any request. Their professionalism and kindness truly made a difference. The location is simply perfect! Situated in a charming and convenient area, it allowed me to explore Paris with ease. Public transportation was easily accessible, and there were plenty of lovely cafés and attractions nearby. The room was impeccably clean, comfortable, making my stay even more enjoyable. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, ensuring a relaxing experience. I highly recommend Hôtel des Ecrivains to anyone visiting Paris. It is a wonderful place to stay, and I would gladly return in the future!

Hotel was easy to find, even though the area isn't that good. Looks like the pictures.

There was no escalator and you have to give your keys to the front person every time you leave, which was weird. The bathroom was dirty & broken and fell into pieces. There is no AC in room, it was very cold all the time. Bed covers were bad and uncomfortable. A welcome letter or candy in the rooms would be nice, there was no hospitality there. The wifi keywoard could have been in the rooms or some kind of food delivery service. NOT worth the price. Rooms were very plain and lacked decor.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms, coffee and tea making facilities (refilled daily), small fridge, soundproof windows, daily cleaning service, very good breakfast, free luggage storage... Nearby: district with many bars and restaurants (Butte aux Cailles), large metro station, big shopping center, Police headquarters directly opposite (-;

The rooms do not have air conditioning. Since most of them are on the south side of the building, it can get a little bit warm in there. However, there is a good fan that helps a little with the heat. The larger rooms seem to be at the back of the building. It is probably better to book one of these in the summer, as it is also quieter there if you want to sleep with the window open. It is definitely worth asking for one of these rooms and making this upgrade!

I've loved the rooms that I've stayed in so far (this is my second visit here; liked it so much the first time that I came back this time!). The breakfast is a good, solid continental breakfast. But I think that what makes this hotel so special is its lovely staff. Besides their friendliness and professionalism, they also have a wealth of knowledge about fantastic places to eat nearby or to visit.

its just next to Police Headquarter and you will hear Police Car Siren a lot. Lift is only till 4 floor and for 5th floor you have to carry your luggage through stairs.

The hotel is conveniently located near two metro stations and bus stops, making it very easy to reach any part of the city within 330 minutes. The room was very clean and quite comfortable, despite its size. Even if it was facing the street, we found the windows were shielding the noise quite well (in summer time it can be different though) and the courtains were also very efficient in stopping the light coming in the morning. The room was also quite warm, but I didn't see any ventilation system, thinking of the summer periods. The breakfast room was small, but very cosy and comfortable, with a vert good breakfast provided. We would definitely come back again.

Not so much we didn't like it, but we found it difficult space wise to manage our luggage, because of the small room, which is however not uncommon in Paris. Luckily we only had one luggage with us. With two, it would have been problematic.
