The hotel is very plain but functional, the rooms are super clean and the bed were very comfy. Eventhough the hotel is on a main road you can't hear any noises as the windows have double glazing. Walking distance to the metro and loads of restaurants and pastry shops around the area. We loved the little market up the street from the hotel . The staff at reception were super friendly and helpful specially the gentleman who gave us a map showing all the main attractions. Will definitely be back . Je Taime Pari

Location, cleanness

Some rooms have the shower outside which is OK. But you have to pay euro 2.5 every time you wish to take a shower.

The location was amazing- 30 min walk to notre dame- and a beautiful walk. The room was really nice and clean w a beautiful sink. Bathroom down the hall was never a problem.

Hard to take longer than a 5 min shower. Hands have to be dry to put 2nd token in and we 2.50 euro was wasted. Breakfast is a bit expensive for 10 euro- croissant, bread, youghurt and granola - w cespeewoo machine - all was good but can get a 4.50 euro crepe Down street - just convenient and quick at the hotel.

Showers cost 2.50€ for 5 min and the breakfast was 10€ for bread and coffee.

We had a lovely stay at Port Royal Hotel.Yes the room and bathroom are small and it's a no drills hotel but the price is good,location is fab and there are great restaurants and bars nearby.We loved the relaxed vibe in the area.Staff are very friendly,room gets cleaned every day.Directly opposite is a bakery with the most amazing pastries and there's also a fantastic restaurant- wish I could remember the names!Have a quiche in the bakery and the chocolate mousse in the restaurant:) We pretty much walked everywhere we wanted to go to but the Metro is a stone's throw away if you want to get the train.Easy to get from Gare du Nord. The Jardin du Luxembourg is well worth a visit.

The location was very good, only a few minutes away from both the bus and the metro. It was very easy to get around, and even better, the food nearby was incredible. I would recommend staying here, and if you do, there is a patisserie across the street, Boulangerie Rainette, do not go to any other one in the area, trust me! This is the one. I tried every single one, and this one has the best pastries. Their croissants are buttery, soft, and crispy. There are also a lot of restaurants in the area that are fantastic as well. The view from our room was quite fabulous, as a little bonus. The room was clean, our sheets and towels were spotless, and the bathroom was clean. Also, the staff was incredibly friendly. We had absolutely no issues on our trip.

The bed was a little bit hard, but it is a hotel. The bathroom, if you pay for a private, is TINY. I got used to it after a day or so, but I couldn't even stand in it with the sliding door shut, my butt would stick out while I was at the sink. Just a little note to anyone who may not be a tiny person, or who is not travelling with their SO. I was with my sister, so it wasn't so bad, but getting out of the shower was kind of hilarious. I would like do a little dance to get out, jump out into the room, then dry off in the room.

The hotel was comfortable and extremely clean. Everyone was quiet and respectful of others. Breakfast of granola, juice, bread, yogurt and croissants as well as coffee drinks or tea. Very close there is an excellent Thai restaurant. Rates at hotel and restaurant very reasonable. We had shared bathroom , but it was very very clean. Showers separate and clean as well. The staff was so kind and tolerant of my efforts to try out my French on them. ( even though I made a lot of mistakes) I would recommend it to singles and couples. Near Jardin des Plantes, Grand Mosque, Latin Quarter and 2 metro stations, restaurants. With bus and metro, you can get all over Paris. We walked a lot and could get to many places on foot.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was nicely decorated with a nice terrace/breakfast area. The location was very close to an excellent metro line and the Rue Monge area which is very nice. The hotel was very accommodating of needs, offering hair dryers etc for the room. Despite being a shared toilet/shower, the facilities were very clean and private and I didn't miss having a private one in the room at all. It was also very handy to have a staff member on reception 24/7 as I arrived late in the evening for check in.

I would have preferred to have more control over the temperature. The heating was on all night which always gives me a sore throat. It was at least possible to open the large window in the room but sleeping with a radiator on can be challenging.

The location of this hotel is just fantastic, right next to the subway station, with a lot of touristic places in a walking distance. The room and the shared spaces were clean, it was alright. Good value for money, in my opinion. The staff was friendly.

The room was pretty small. The hotel has a long list of restrictive rules the guest has to strictly adhere to. One of them was, for example, the obligation to leave the hotel keys at the reception even when leaving the hotel for a short time. Not that is bothers one too much, but i've personally never seen something like this before.

Great quiet hotel, traditionally charming with very lovely staff. We speak decent French and made an effort, but they do speak some English as well. We read reviews prior to coming and got a little scared, but it's nice rooms and breakfast is good. No tvs or restaurant, but we were in Paris for the Olympics so didn't really care. We had a room with a bathroom, which was on the street so a little noisy sometimes, but we took earplugs because August in Paris is always going to be hot and you are going to want the windows open. We used their dining room for dinner a few times and bought our own food in. I would stay again without hestitation. Location was fantastic for transport options and not as hectic as other bits of Paris. Room was clean and tidy and functional, bed was comfy. I'd liked not having to worry about my key when out.
