Spotlessly clean, extremely helpful staff, large, comfy beds, air conditioning quiet and efficient, lovely bathroom and the best buffet breakfast we have had in 30 years of hotel stays in France. I paid for late checkout but we didn't need to use the extra time- the lady at reception reimbursed me ( without my asking)when she realised we were checking out earlier. Great location with lots of good restaurants and a supermarket within 2 minutes walk, just round the corner from the magnificent hotel de ville and cafe fringed square. Not sure how you could top this!

The hotel has the best location, a quick 5 minutes walking distance to the centres of the commerces and close to the main ancient sites like Notre-Dame la Grande church (which is now closed under renovation until 2027), Cure de Saint Porchaire and the Palais of Poitiers (later courthouse), and the other sites like the Saint Pierre Cathedral and the museum isn't far too (walking distance). The cleanliness is 10/10, spotless and the staffs are friendly and helpful. The space is quite big for a triple room.

The fact that the view from our room doesn't look exactly like on the booking.com photos. The rooms and the amenities aren't exactly in the same building.

The instructions for finding the hotel that we received before we arrived were perfect and the welcome we received was delightful. The staff are lovely and very informative. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There is a wonderful sitting room and bar area in the main hotel building too. Hotel de L'Europe is situated just outside the pedestrianised city centre so very easy to walk to. There is plenty to see in this beautiful Medieval city with a huge square surrounded by bars and restaurants. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of foods.

A very efficient and kindly welcome by the staff when we arrived (notably Justine, an absolute star!). We hadn't been able to book a parking place at the property ahead of time (poor internet connection) but Justine found a solution despite the limited parking in the hotel itself. The room was overlooking the roofs of the town, beautiful view (the hotel is on the edge of the pedestrian walkways) and was airconditioned as well (it was a very hot day). Very clean and comfortable, nice bathroom. The breakfast next morning overlooking the garden was very pleasant and copious. We will definitely stay there again next time we drive through Poitiers.

Great central location close to lots of restaurants and the main square. We booked car parking for a long estate car with a rear cycle rack and roof box and as we pulled up somebody was out to meet us and show us where to park. The bedrooms lack air-conditioning, which if it's 30+ (which it can so often be in the summer in this part of France) is a shame, but, the room fan was excellent and quiet and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good with helpful staff helping out when needed, with all the bases covered. The breakfast room led into the Hotel's small private garden which was cool and refreshing in the heat. Hotel staff were super friendly and welcoming making everything very easy.

since they still use the old fashioned room key system where you have to leave your key at the front desk when you leave and retrieve it when you return, it was frustrating to have to wait for over 10 minutes when there was no one at the front desk. I booked this hotel specifically for the fitness facilities. However, all of the fitness equipment is made of wood and really strange to use. I could not use the treadmill composed of wooden slats at all In addition, it would be nice to have blackout curtains and not have to use the cumbersome external blind that was very difficult to get up and down in my room

We got a good impression from the start as the parking was well organized, and someone directed us where to park. The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and very quiet, considering we were a short walk away from the historic city centre, but the hotel is set back from the street. The location was very convenient.

The breakfast was a little bit disappointing, as there were no croissants left, and some items (such as jams) were not replenished when they ran out.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff.. Location was right on the main street in easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The rooms very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

I know it's quite common but I think parking should be included in the price and not an add on. Not too much of an issue as we were only staying one night but it would put me off for longer stays.

Great spacious family room in a hotel right in the centre of Poitier. Parking was no problem once we’d emailed requesting a space. An extra €9 for the parking space for the night we stayed. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. The jardin has table football and ping pong for the kids. Great buffet breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

The AC wasn’t as cool as it could have been- my only issue. Oh, and the art on the walls was hilariously terrible!

The buffet style breakfast served in the garden room was particularly good. It included not only the usual pastries, bread, juices and coffee associated with a French breakfast, but also some wonderful cheese and Jésus de Lyon saucisson.
