A great little family run place. The hostess was so kind with my limited french, so patient and helpful. She helped putting my motorbike in the garage and gave me information and tips on how to see Saintes. Super cool garden with an artistic splash. Location is perfect for hopping off the train and getting to your accomoation as Saintes centre was just a beautiful 10 minute walk down a tree lined boulvard.

Le Parisien is a small traditional hotel in walking distance from the city centre of Saintes and close to the SNCF station. I could park my fully loaded car in the locked yard. The garden probably looks fantastic in spring and summer. 53 years ago I was an exchange student in Saintes and decided to go check up on the town again. Coming from Andalusia I was a bit disappointed because the it was much colder and no people in the streets of the old town. I liked the hotel, the service and the breakfast. Next time end of summer I will book Le Parisien again. The host was really friendly.

Felt like I was visiting and staying with a family member, like staying at my grandma's house. The host was so lovely and friendly and helpful. The room/facilities were quaint but clean and comfortable.

The garden was absolutely gorgeous- the owner obviously spends a lot of time there. The owner was lovely very friendly and obliging. bed comfy and lovely fresh linen. coffee in garden for €1 - heaven!!

decor pretty tired and needed to be careful on stairs. Shower very old but functional.

Great place to stay in Saintes, close to the train station with good value bars and restaurants nearby. The historic centre is only about 10 minutes walk away. It has secure parking for bicycles and a very welcoming host, while the shared shower was clean with plenty of hot water. But the truly outstanding feature is the flower filled and serene back garden which was huge and organised into semi separate alcoves with tables, the perfect place for breakfast on a summer's morning.

Le Parisien was the perfect place to stay over during my travels to the Southwest of France. The ability to park securely at the hotel was well appreciated.

Beautiful breakfast. Coffee, tea, bread, lovely croissants, jam and chocolate. Great start to the day.
