The location was perfect. An easy walk to Old Town. We loved that honey was being made on the premises and we made sure to have some fresh honey for breakfast. The room suited our needs for one night and we would stay there again. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I can’t think of a single thing that I would want that they didn’t have. There was ample seating for breakfast and our morning was delightful.

We read all the reviews about the property not having air conditioning but we didn’t care. If you want air conditioning go to a Marriott. We didn’t want a Marriott experience , we wanted a cultural experience and hotels here usually don’t have air conditioning. We were prepared to use the fan that was provided but after about 20 minutes the fan died. We called down to the front desk and a new fan was delivered within 10 minutes. The fan certainly helped and we had a slightly warm but good night.

The location of the hotel is excellent – right by the river and close to the old town. The building itself looks like a luxurious palace from the outside, but the rooms don’t quite match that impression. Underground parking is available for €20 per day. Breakfast was fairly good overall.

There’s no air conditioning or fresh air system, which can be uncomfortable in the summer, especially with thick duvets still on the beds – opening the window doesn’t really help. The pillows were extremely flat, and there was no minibar in the room.

Hotel is very clean with big rooms and great facilities. Breakfast was very good although the old style breakfast room felt a bit outdated. Hotel is a nice short walk from town center.

The staff at the reception was less than friendly . I have asked for some information regarding parking because I did not completely understand the signs on the street and in the end I did not get it. Also the conversation was unpleasant. I did not feel like a welcomed guest in the hotel.

The Residenzschloss provided our family of four with a very comfortable 1-night stay. The hotel is perfectly located to allow for easy walks to the old city with many restaurants and attractions. The suite was very spacious and during a period of rain, our family was fine hanging out in the room.

The breakfast, while tasty, was a bit crowded, but we visited on a holiday, so we had expected more guests. Not a major issue.

The room was great

While I had a great experience, my travel companion was very upset, that after she told the front staff about her physical limitations ( no elevator usage, CPOD) she was placed on the very top floor, which prevented me from assisting her with her bags, as the elevator only went to 2. ( I am older and as a rule, I personally use only small carryon bags, because I can transport them on steps, but I cannot manage large bags on stairs. She had a large bag.)This affected me because she was so upset by what happened that she could not function and I wound up visiting the Nuremberg Christmas Markets alone, having meals alone etc. As a general rule, it might be a good idea to give those third floor rooms to people without physical limitations.

Great location, walking distance to the center. Parking convenient in the underground -18 eur/day. Good breakfast- plenty of choices and large enough dining space to accommodate everybody. Pet friendly. They even prepared bowls with water and food in the room. There is a small park just in front of the hotel so our dog was happy.

It is not cheap but to be expected in this location. Coffee was not great.

Impressive building, excellent room, quiet, lots of space, but without air conditioning - could it be due to the fact that the building is a historical one? Anyway, during our stay it was not necessary. Very good parking place for our car.

Good breakfast, but the coffee was simply awful (the coffee beans were smelling very bad). The gym was small, with old equipment and some of the dumbbells were disassembled.

Elegant hotel in a good location for walking to the sights of Bamberg. Good parking for my motorcycle, it was safe overnight in the garage. Breakfast was nice and it was good to sit at the outside area.

The room I was given had sloping walls which meant I bumped into them several times! Reception staff could have been friendlier.

The beds were very comfortable. I needed a second pillow which was provided immediately. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best I‘ve ever had at a hotel. There were a lot of guests but no line-ups for the buffet and servers who also provided coffee and tea and kept the tables clean and clear. You could also sit outside on the big front patio. The location of the hotel is perfect, easy walking distance to see the sites. It‘s a big seminar hotel but it was still quiet.

There was an exceptionally long walk to our room. The bathroom was a bit dated and the tiles could have used a good scrub and bleach. There was no mini bar / refrigerator in the room but the staff kindly put our thermos cooler blocks into a hotel freezer and remembered to get them for us when we checked out. Still, the little refrigerator was missed.

Beautifully appointed room, though quite small. Finishings and colour palate were lovely. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was superb, excellent perk. Also, the option to forego housekeeping and receive a complimentary drink per guest was a great incentive. Hotel was a quick walk to historic Bamberg. We loved our stay here.

Room was noisy as it was on the road side. Also, with no air conditioning the room was very hot. The staff provided a fan upon request which made the temperature more comfortable for sleeping.
