It was very spacious and the lobby had a cozy atmosphere. The rooms had everything we needed, were clean and minimalistic. I think it only took us 20 minutes to Little Tokyo by foot but there was a metro station and a bus station very close by as well. They also had an underground car park (which you have to pay for) but if you are very lucky, you can also find street parking.

In general all of the staff were very friendly to us! However, one person from our group had a small situation while checking-in. It was a female receptionist that kept on mispronunciation his name (which was no big deal at first) until another friend told her kindly that the name is pronounced differently (the Turkish C is pronounced J like in jeans, instead of a K). Instead of adapting or apologizing and laughing about it, she made a rude remark and continued to mispronounce his name on purpose. Everyone else was really nice and helpful and the mispronunciation can happen but it was her rude behavior in particular which I had to point out once more….

This is a great choice for a short trip where you plan to go sightseeing and not spending so much time at the hotel. The buffet breakfast has a great variety of options so I would definitely recommend it. The room was super spacious for 2 people and the shower was nice, everything was spot clean and modern. There aren't any options for restaurants at a walking distance so you may want to go to the center. The metro is a 5 min walk and central station is a 12 min walk.

If you are planning a more relaxing trip, I wouldn't recommend this hotel because it is super busy, there is not enough staff for check-in or at the Bar and since it gets crowded it can be loud in the morning. The staff could be nicer with the guests. We arrived at 2pm and there was already a queue to check in. When we tried to ask where the line was the lady in the front counter was a bit rude, so we just asked the people that were also waiting.

Room was clean, bed was ok, room has enough space. Breakfast was correct, nothing to special but versatile. BAr is opened 24 hours which is great and there are vendy machines where you can buy sandwich etc... Lobby is more then spacious and with more then enough tables to seat and have a meeting or have a drink after long day. Stuff was very friendly and helpful. Distance to main train station is just few minutes of walk and center is just after station, so location was more then perfect for us.

Would be great if room had some cabinets to put all my clothing, there was something that looks like it but was too small.

The hotel was clean, contemporary and only a short walk from the main station with an underground station and the tram only a few minutes walk away. There is a nice park around the corner with a kids playground and a small lake with lots of birds, geese and ducks. The breakfast buffet was excellent with an extensive range from fresh fruit, yogurt and seeds to cereals, bread, rolls, pastries, cold meats and cheeses plus cooked breakfast. There were also vegan and GF options. Microwave type meals and pizzas are available from the bar in the evenings as the kitchen is not open. These meals were perfectly adequate, tasty and reasonably priced. All the staff, from reception and restaurant to housekeeping, were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable.

The hand/body/hair wash was very strongly perfumed and dried your skin out. Fortunately we had our own toiletries.

Clean hotel, there is free of charge parking aside (common parking ground 150 meter from there). Breakfast was surprisingly rich!!! The room was simple but clean. Bed was comfortable. Shampoo ready in bath. Comparing from Cologne prices, it was very good deal even if taking car renting in consideration.

It would be nice to have water heating equipment for tea or coffee inside the room Closet was symbolic. (no real place to put clothes), only to tail couple of shirts ... Bath, a little naive way to separate wet area and water on the floor ... I would make some better border.

A full 10 out of 10, well-deserved! The hotel is modern and appealing. For the unbeatable price, you get a nice room, there's a 24-hour reception, and a bar that's open around the clock. I'd like to pick up on this point: One of the bar staff members was having his very first day of work during our stay, and my boyfriend and I got along really well with him. He even helped my boyfriend organize a birthday surprise for me in his own free time. Apparently, he cycles an hour to work every day. And he did it anyway, and with so much love. As someone who works at reception in the hotel industry myself, I really appreciate it when people put their heart and soul into their work. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention names on Booking.com, but you know I'm talking about you. Thank you so much! We really enjoyed our time with you and at the niu! If we travel to Düsseldorf again, we'll definitely stay at the niu. See you! ❤️

The only downside is that you can book rooms with queen-size beds online, but according to the reception, there are no connecting beds. If you want to cuddle, you'll have to get a little creative. But thanks to the truly perfect stay, we quickly forgot about that.

I love the design of the room, very modern and comfortable with a huge very clean bathroom. Being able to connect to the TV and built in speakers via your own phone was a delight. Simplistic design made the room very airy, not crowded and very comfortable. Beds and pillows are nice, each person had 3 pillows of different sizes wich is nice. Staff was nice and let us have 2 adjacent rooms as requested without problems. Great value for the money.

Air conditioner was a disaster so it was too hot to sleep with the window closed and too loud to sleep with the window open. The floor in the room was dusty, you could feel it on your feet and on your socks. It definitely needs more mopping and sweeping. Same for the carpeted floor outside the room, had stains and needed vacuumining. No phone in the room to contact the reception or another room, so when I tried to call someone to fix the AC, there was no way to do so if I didn't want to run down in my pyjamas myself. Location is okay, on weekends and nights a bit scary especially if you have young kids. There are definitely better parts in the city.

We liked the breakfast which had a lot of variety and on w/e it offers breakfast until 11:30am.The reception area was quite nice and one can sit in the day or evenings and have a drink or a pizza and its very cosy.The area of the Hotel was also good,just 1min walk from U bahn and 7min.walk to the central station.Very good!Staff of the hotel were all was very friendly and the room was also very nice and warm.

The coffee at the breakfast was not to our liking,u get it with those machines and it just was not good..The waiting time at the reception is just too long.People were always standing and waiting and it is a shame because the staff is really friendly.This hotel is really busy and maybe they should have more people there to help guests.The room was great and the bathroom was also spacious but when u showered the water went outside of the shower and the floor was really wet.Maybe if the door of the shower was a bit longer or closed completely it would be better.

The hotel is clean and great value for money. The rooms are relatively basic but very tidy and well-maintained, which is all you can ask for with the price point. It has an integrated bar area and the lounge looked comfortable and modern. Overall, great for a short stay and exceptional value for money.

Location is a bit of a walk from the main city centre but quite close and convenient to the train station. Just be careful as there's another Holiday Inn right across the street with this one being called "The Niu" so it's easy to end up in the wrong one. When we went to check-in, there was quite a significant line and only 2 staff members on. We thankfully were earlier in the line but it still took about 15 minutes to check-in. By the time we were checked in, the line was out the door so people likely had quite a bit longer to wait.

It was a very quality breakfast, but it was the same daily. I understand that maybe I'm too picky, but I think adding a little bit of variety would be great. The quality of the room and the location are great. It is interesting how they try to create a kind of "home" atmosphere in the hotel rooms with interior design. Cleaning was done every day and was great.

The Wi-Fi speed was pretty bad. I guess many people stay because of the business, so it is essential to have a considerable internet speed. Also, I'd add variety to breakfast—for example, do three types of breakfast sets during the week, not the same every day. Otherwise, everything was great.
