I arrived before the room was ready but the stuff let me take a shower and leave my luggage there. You get a free travel card for the train up to the lake and also the stuff told me everything there is to visit. The room was perfect, spacious enough for one person. The breakfast was delicious.

In the night the hotel is not lighten enough, there’s only a tiny light on the hallways and one at the reception, nothing in the restaurant nor in the garden. I get that the restaurant and the pool is closed but with no light is pretty creepy. I wanted to go out in the garden to watch the perseids meteor shower but couldn’t find the exit/ didn’t know if i’m allowed to go out. The reception is closed after 9 so I couldn’t ask anyone. I feel like the reception should be opened until 10, especially in the summer. The downsides are just a suggestion and small details,not relevant for everyone, but the rest was amazing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view is spectacular! The grounds were beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The spa was great! The breakfast was excellent every morning with the table all set with our name placement card. We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious! The location was super especially for getting to the Zugspitze cable car and for enjoying all the trails in the area. The local town area was quaint, within walking distance, and had a great Italian Pizzaria and ice cream shop. We enjoyed afternoon and evening beverages on the outside patio looking up at the gorgeous Alps.

Our room didn't have a balcony but rather opened up to the roof. At first we were disappointed because we didnt have the balcony with the flower boxes but we found we could just move our chairs to the rooftop and could enjoy the view with more space. Also they didn't mention the guest card on our first day which allows one to use the train between Garmisch and Grainau and to Eibsee for free. So make sure you ask about this card and the benefits when checking in.

The hotel is in a nice quiet location up the hill from Garmisch. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices. I particularly like having eggs cooked to order every morning. It's so much better than the scrambled eggs that have been sitting forever. A very nice touch were the name tags on the tables for each meal. You always knew where you're table was. The staff was great and the view from the balcony was wonderful.

It was unfortunate that there was no lunch available, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby

This very charming hotel was exactly the Bavarian fantasy! Everything you need for a city break to explore this part of the alps. Food at the restaurant was delicious and in inhouse sauna makes for a comfortable way to unwind after exploring the eibsee or hiking.

Not much to say here except that some servives offered in the directory (pickup at the station for instance) was unavailable when requested. I also think a coffee and tea station in the room would be a great addition.

Staff at the reception was nice. Breakfast and wellness area (which included 2 saunas, pool and a massage table) were great. Owner was very friendly and talked with the guests at breakfast and even gave me a lift when I needed to go to train station in the rain and did not have umbrella. Rooms very clean and generally the hotel is very well thought through and equipped well (spare umbrellas, newspaper, souvenirs you can by right at the hotel, post box if you want to send a postcard).

Carpet and beds are worn off in the room, clean but clearly oldish. Not a negative, but more of particularity - people of older generation seems to favour the hotel, did not see much youth.

We had booked our stay three hours upon arrival and I had not expected to have the exceptional service as we had. We had stayed here due to short notice of a family members health issue and was close to the clinic. My child had a smile on her face the entire time as she enjoyed the hot chocolate that came in a kettle; the swimming pool; the use of the sled and a Teddybear souvenir from the hotel that helped bring my child comfort for the upcoming days in the clinic. We definitely will be coming back to stay. Thank you.

There was a beautiful stream flowing through the courtyard, and although the water was very cold, the children enjoyed playing in it. There was also a playground for kids and a large pool facility near the hotel, making it a great location for families with children.

The location cannot be beat.. there is nothing I could say negative about this place…room was spacious and comfy, staff were so helpful, room was super quiet, and breakfast was awesome! we did t have a view of mountains we were in front side of the place, I’d book the back side because WOW the view is incredible…pictures don’t do it Justice! and be sure to walk around this the area to get a better view of the mountains… I was sad to leave here!!

I liked the restaurant, very traditional German fare and lovely entertainment but the kids weren’t so enamoured with the choices available. Breakfast was fantastic for all.

Very complete hotel. There are pool and sauna. Breakfast delicious. Staff very nice. Good location, 10 minutes on foot to the Grainau station, very convenient to go to Eibsee and Zugspitze! Grainau city is so nice and the view is amazing!
