The location is fine: it's not too far from the railway station and it's just a five minute walk from the nearest metro station; you have a local lidl right in front of the hotel and a rewe just on the corner of the street. The hotel is nice and quiet, the beds are comfortable, the wifi connection is good, and there's a tv that you can link to if you want to watch something. The breakfasts are well-organized as well: you have a fair selection of everything you might eat for breakfast, and there're not many people around, so everyone has a place to sit and there're not queues.

Nothing really special, although I would appreciate if the rooms also had at least the cheapest teapot available, because it's not really 100% comfortable when you can't even make a cup of tea/coffee in the room. As to the neighbourhood, you might seem sketchy people from time to time, although we haven't experienced any outright aggression or hostility.

Fantastic hotel, very welcoming staff and our room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated in between Friedrichstraße train station, and Wandsbecker Chausee train station and U-Bahn. Directly across the road is a Lidl, and down the street is a shopping centre with a Rewe, so plenty of facilities for food, drinks and snacks. We didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on that, although the rest of the experience was fantastic. The hotel is also approx 10 to 15 minutes from Hamburg City Centre via the S Bahn. We would definitely stay here again!

Possibly a fridge in the room so that we could keep food and drinks cold, or store breakfast items etc. but I am being very picky here.

The hotel is quite close to public transportation hubs. You can easily and quickly reach every point of the city. The staff is very helpful in every matter. It was also very good in terms of cleanliness. We were very pleased with our visit. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Hamburg.

The Niu was an excellent example of the new mid-price chains. Location was convenient with S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations within easy walk and connecting to both central station and airport. WIFI was very good. Back-lava on Wandsbeker Chaussee is a quality option for breakfast outside hotel with reasonable prices and extremely friendly staff.

Hotel bar prices were pretty high (although hotel did offer free drinks in exchange for not changing towels/making bed). There was space enough in room to replace the narrow 'ledge' under TV with a wider desk-style top. Difficult to use laptop/write other than sitting in/on bed.

+ Friendly staff + Comfy bed + It was hot outside, but the a/c did a good job + Bluetooth speakers in the room are a nice addition to the ambience + It is located right between the Airport and the city centre, which was convenient for me

Overall the place is nice even tho is a bit far from the city center. You can easily reach it with public transportation. Our room was facing the main street but with the window close we couldn't ear street noises. There's a nice walk through a canal next to the hotel that will lead you to a lake.

Everything was ok

Very friendly check in lady, she selected me a quiet room when I arrived late and was tired. And the window could be opened which quaranteed that room air was fresh and cool!

This time I didn’t take the breakfast because of my earlier experiences, for vegan and glutenfree there is quite limited options, didn’t want to pay full price of that.

- Very nice location; close to S-Bahn and U-Bahn, and there are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby. However, I would not recommend it for people who feel the need to be close to nightlife hotspots, because it's not that close to those areas. But for my purposes it was really good, because I'm not a party animal. But the neighbourhood was much better than I expected; it's a lively area. - Hotel was relatively inexpensive, but it had good quality. The room and common areas were in good condition and there were some nice designs on the walls. - 95% of my interactions with the personnel were good and enjoyable.

- Maybe the view from my room could have been better and more attractive, but we're speaking about a really minor flaw here. Otherwise I had nothing to complain.

The Hotel is very conveniently located 5 minutes from the U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations, also 3 minutes from the nearest REWE Supermarket and across the road from LIDL. There is a bar at the reception, where you can get free drink, just follow the instructions in your room. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was varied and everyone could find something to their liking. Staff was very nice and helpful. Wi-Fi was fast and there was a Smart TV in the room.

Unfortunately it was very cold in the room, and the heating was not working, even after asking at the reception. The only solution was to leave the bathroom door open where it was very hot. There was no fridge or minibar in the room.

Fabulous hotel - part of a chain but very quirky too. Great bedroom, very comfortable bed, excellent shower, power points where you need them. Very handy for S-Bahn (Friedrichsburg slightly easier) and U-Bahn, but in a decent neighbourhood as well with its own big shops and local restaurants. If you don't need your room cleaned and you put the right tag on the door you get a free drink at the bar, which is a really nice touch. And it's a nice bar too - ask for their Landgang Brauerei craft beers!

Slamming doors - the door mechanisms are set to slam if left alone to close, and the whole floor shakes! Not good if you are trying for an early night or a lie-in. The wi-fi was a little unreliable from time to time. The check-in desk is often busy and the machine in the lobby is basically an iPad set inside a big terminal and is slow and fiddly to use - remote check-in hopefully works better.
