The room, house and location are very charming. It is right across the street from the lovely Aussenalster lake, which we could see from our room. The neighborhood is very posh with a nice selection of cafés and restaurants. You can also easily get to other areas with public transport or on foot. Walking along the shores of the Aussenalster is a must anyway. The bed was one of the most comfortable I ever slept in. The shower had excellent water pressure and everything worked perfectly, something I find rare in even the most upscale hotels. Make sure to take a boat tour of the harbor and catch a concert at the Elbphilharmonie (the Großer Saal is mind-blowing).

There was a lot of construction going on in the neighborhood, so it made some of our walks a bit less picturesque than they could have been. The breakfast buffet was good, but not extraordinary. It was a bit small and there was not a lot of selection. There were often long lines for the coffee machine, which needed regular "fixing". We stayed for 4 nights and noticed no variation in the buffet. I would expect a boutique hotel to have something a little special every day, like a fresh cake or local pastries. Also the müsli was obviously a cheaper brand. These were small let downs to an otherwise fantastic stay! Oh, and don't waste your money on the Hamburg Card. It's cheaper to get the day card for travel and you won't go to more than two of museums a day anyway.

The rooms are tastefully designed, with the classic German Altbau architecture enhancing the hotel’s elegant flair. Breakfast offers all the essentials and is of good quality, but due to the limited space in the breakfast area, it can feel quite crowded, leaving little room to expand the selection. The beds are sufficiently comfortable.

The building is quite old, and while it is well-maintained, soundproofing is poor—you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms, which was particularly problematic on the first night. The bathroom facilities are generally good, but the shower is extremely narrow, making it uncomfortable to use. Additionally, the toilets have only a single flush option, which is uncommon in Germany, as it results in unnecessary water wastage. The room provides only two small 330-milliliter bottles of water, which is rather limited. Surprisingly, there is no kettle, which is unusual nowadays. Lastly, the reception staff was not particularly welcoming upon our arrival, which left a less-than-ideal first impression.

The room was spacious and light, the bed comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Left a phone charger behind in the room and the Hotel contacted me to send back to my home - very helpful - Thank You The underground garage car carousel is so entertaining !

There is an elevator but to enter from the front entrance you need to climb a flight of steps, the only way to avoid this is to entre through the underground carpark. This might have been helpfulful information shared before arrival. Feathered pillows would be a good option for customers too.

Beautiful historic building beautifully renovated with modern comforts. Great bed and water pressure in the shower. Balcony on the street facing the Alster is a dream for morning coffee. Lovely complimentary breakfast and friendly staff. Truly my favorite location in Hamburg; you can walk to Jungfernstieg in 30 minutes, but you’re away from the tourist core and 10 minutes walk to trendy restaurants and cafes in charming Uhlenhorst and Winterhude.

Would love a bathtub in addition to the small shower

The property itself is gorgeous with a very homely feel to it rather than a hotel. The views from the property are very scenic with lots of trees and Lake Alster. The room and the bathroom are very well decorated and relaxing after a long day sight-seeing.

The location is not ideal for sightseeing as most of the tourist attractions are near Elbe river and not near Lake Alster. The breakfast buffet room is quite cramped and hence difficult to serve if there are more than 2 persons in that area.

Nice, small hotel in well-renovated older building. Big rooms with high-ceilings, comfortable beds, nicely decorated, minibar. Big bathrooms. Nice location at the lake. It’s quite a walk. you can walk along the lake to the city centre

Breakfast buffet in a too small room, gets crowded. Only one coffee machine … which didn’t work. Quality of breakfast food and drink items has declined compared to earlier visits

Toilet was a little bit dirty when we arrived Breakfast room was quite small and the options for warm food were limited. Also bigger plates needed. No air conditioning in room, so very warm even with outside temperatures at 21C.

Beautifully renovated old building, with great location in quiet neighbourhood and in acceptable distance to the city center (if you don't want to stay in the centre of the city). Great breakfast buffet with lots of different options to choose between.

Very nice hotel but also a bit pricy though. And hotel parking was expensive.

A large room with en suite bathroom in a fine old mansion. A quiet location in a very affluent suburb of the city with good public transport links into town. Alternatively a very pleasant lakeside stroll will take you to the centre. Plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast.

The public areas were a bit over heated for my liking but might suite those from warmer climes.

An outstanding boutique hotel with beautifully appointed rooms, a great breakfast and stunning location on the Alster. Sunset walks and cafes across the road, perfect for walking the dog after a long journey.

A second coffee machine in the breakfast room would have saved the need to queue (twice!) for coffee.
