The Kronprinz has a nice old Hotel Charme. The ceilings are high, old wooden doors and a classic hard key system. Whilst the room had everything needed, one thing is missing. Sufficient power outlets. There is a small tv in the room but in the end, who turns on the TV really when at the hotel for a night. The bathroom has the classic shower and even tho, there is wear and tear visible, everything works fine and is clean. The breakfast room is set up nicely and the continental breakfast gives you almost everything you need It could have a little bit of music in the morning but other than that. A pleasant stay

Fantastic location if using the trains. Brilliant to be able to drop off bags before official check in time, and leave them there after official check out time so could maximise sight-seeing. Excellent breakfast. Room clean, comfy bed. Good value for money.

"Bathroom" was a bit of a strange set up with shower and sink not being in a distinct other room from the main bedroom but manageable. Room was very warm so had to open window as no aircon and room faced directly onto station so quite noisy but not a complete disaster.

We often have stopover hotel nights in Hamburg and have stayed at a number of different hotels very close to the Bahnhof. Of all these hotels this had the biggest rooms (for the same money) and we had, by a wide margin, the most silent room we have ever experienced. Also, it could not be closer to the Hauptbahnhof. We will definitely shoot for this hotel in the future.

When we tried the pay the machine didn't accept our cards, despite the fact that we tried four different credit cards. The payment was then postponed to the next morning, when checking out, so we had no problems staying there. After the payment failure we crossed the street to buy some food at the Bahnhof (around midnight) and had no problems using the cards at all. When I paid the following morning the hotel had lost my "checking in form" (whatever it's called) but they accepted the payment, anyway. But it did seem a little bit unprofessional, of course. However, this does not change our "first choice" policy for future travels.

This was such a quaint, practical, and pleasantly surprising stay for my family. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and everything you need is provided. The staff were mostly friendly and were clear on hotel policy and other helpful information. The breakfast in the morning was so tasty and we enjoyed waking up earlier to experience it. The location was superb (just across the street from Hamburg Hauptbanhof train station) and we felt safe.

Excellent location to access public transport, literally 2 minutes walk from Hauptbahnof. Breakfast was excellent, although the breakfast room did get very crowded around 8.30pm.

No tea / coffee facilities in room although some of the more expensive rooms did offer this. It's a shame that they don't offer this facility in all rooms. TV in room on the small side, but no real issue with that.

Good location, very close to the main train station Hbf, it is just across the street, the city center, townhall is also near, around 10 min walk. I got a room with windows to the inner yard, which is good. If the windows are to the main street it might be a bit noisy. Reception is 24/7.

Hotel is a bit oldish, need some renovation, do not expext much comfort there. The breakfast is very basic.

Breakfast was exactly the same each day, but, there were loads of choices - it was up to yourself to vary your meals. Breakfast room was a bit small, and, sometimes, you had to queue yo get in.

Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room. In all fairness, I should have checked before I left home, then I could have packed my travel kettle.

We were very pleased with our stay in the Kronprinz. We booked the hotel based on reasonable price close to the station. The room was a good size, generally quiet with a comfortable bed and decent bathroom. We had read some negative comments about the breakfast in advance on booking.com but were pleasantly surprised by a nice spread of high-quality options. The hotel was very close to both the art museum and the arts and crafts museum which we enjoyed visiting.

The decor in places was a little jaded, likewise the carpets were obviously old but this did not detract from a good stay and at the price we paid we were very content.

One of the recption Lady I don’t her name dark hair from Ukranian . She were very unfriendly horrible customer service.. Everytime I asked her something she told me . that dhe doesn’t speak English.. but I be told the she can speak. and also I hear she speaking with someone

Hotel is right opposite Hamburg Central Station so ideal for a one night stay if arriving late at night or leaving early. I wasn't expecting much from other reviews but I had no complaints at all. The staff were welcoming, my room was very clean and it was nice to have a decent breakfast before leaving the next morning. Would stay again.
