We loved how friendly and helpful the staff were and how exceptionally clean the bathrooms were, just wonderful! The breakfast was also great with different choices and really good coffee. The hotel is close to the university campus and has a bus stop just a two-minute walk away, so you have convenient transportation into town every 30 minutes. There is a bus schedule next to the door of the hotel, too, so you can plan your trips. It's nice and quiet which we prefer over the hustle and bustle of downtown hotels.

It is a nice small hotel, with very friendly staff. Breakfast is ok, room is good for a short stay, location was great for me because I needed to go to the Uni campus for a conference. The parking at the hotel is free in general, but you need to be lucky to get a spot, so you can also reserve a parking spot in advance for 10 euros/day, or there is free parking on Draiser street just few steps away. In general it was a value for money and totally corresponds to its three stars. There is also a very good Greek restaurant in 3 min walk.

what was advertised as a gym is not exactly a gym - just 2 broken cardio machines and a sandbag in a very small claustrophobic room in a basement... I would not advertise it at all if i was a property manager - you create expectations, but you only give frustration to your customers when they come and see it... restaurant at the hotel is closed, at least it was closed those 2 days that I stayed...although it was still advertised as open at the hotel website.

Hotel Roemerstein is a family run small hotel situated in a quiet location close to Mainz University with easy assess to the city centre and the friendly helpful staff.

We had a small bedroom and the bed was placed against one of the bedroom walls therefore I had to crawl to end of bed in order to use the bathroom during the night without disturbing my partner, would bed to have access at each side of bed.

overall a good stay, the room was cleaned and the place very quiet.

there was a broken fridge in the room. The listing says there should have been a tea and coffee makers but there was not.

Very nice, helpful and generally likeable staff and overall it is a good value for a reasonable price.

Bed could have been more comfortable, but hey - it's hard to make one bed fit everyone!

This little Hotel was in a perfect location for us. Easy to find (with Google Maps), and so quiet. The staff was awesome and the room much bigger than we expected. We will be back when we visit MZ.
