We have stayed here many times over the past fifteen years and in the time, the hotel has achieved a major renovation of rooms, lobby and breakfast room. Though the hotel is geared toward business travel, they do an excellent job with the casual tourist also. Strengths of hotel: location, staff, view, and breakfasts.

Public parking is located nearby and is easily accessed. It is a bit expensive, however. The lift at the garage was inoperable, which is a very un-German condition. Also, beware that the shower's floor surface can be slippery.

Spacious, airy, clean room. Comfortable bed, great modern bathroom and shower. Very quiet room despite central location on the river front and within walking distance of station, Alstadt and Neustadt. Free coffees downstairs in the lounge, excellent and luxurious breakfast buffet in panorama room (!) on top floor with views over the city and the Rhine. The breakfast selection was very nice too. Service staff very friendly and helpful with ordering taxis and requests.

Only slight inconvenience was that there was no kettle in the room. This would have been useful to make tea/coffee in the room and fill the hot water bottle rather than having to use the hot water from the coffee machine at reception. Otherwise everything was fantastic.

I did like the hotel. Close to the river, but inwalking distance to the center. Professional good service. A bit pricey (17 Euro), but quite good breakfast in a restaurant with a nice view over the river & city. Always free coffee & tea in the lobby.

The street on the river side is a bit noisy. The windows are excellent: if they are closed you don t hear the traffic at all. But if you like to have a little bit of fresh air in the night you hardly find sleep because of the traffic noise. Better take a room without a view - at the back of the building

Exceptionally hard working concierge on the day we arrived (19th June). He deserves an extra reward. Amazing location. Incredibly well sound proofed windows (couldn’t hear the carnival outside when they were closed).

Could maybe provide instructions as to whether brief stoppage outside to unload luggage is allowed in the drop off zone-this wasn’t clear and would have been handy in the instructions.

Location, room size, quiet room

No restaurant for meals other than breakfast. when it Rained entrance area was not properly dried so wet and slippery on floor, staff not always at hand when needed and poorly informed of half marathon which affected our travel. Didn’t replace all towels taken for cleaning. Toilets in lobby not accessible, No decaf coffee. Feather pillows affected my allergy and caused coughing.

Beautiful spacious room and friendly helpful staff. First class breakfast in stunning setting-6th floor with panoramic view of the Rhine and much of the city.

Exceptional hot weather with weather warnings in Mainz 35C. Hotel had no aircom so room very hot. However a fan provided which helped especially during the extremely hot nights we were there .

Our staying in Mainzer Hof occured to be a very pleasant experience. We had a spaceful room with the view over the panorama of Rhein river. Although it was the room with the window opening to the noisy street, it was quiet enough to sleep peacefuly. The level of cleanliness meets the highest standards. The staff is open, friendly and ready to help. The breakfast (not the cheapest one as it costs 15 euro per person, but with the range offer of products and drinks) is served on the highest floor with panoramic windows and beaufiful views over the river and old town. The location is also good - it's close to Hauptbanhof, as well as to the market of old town and the boat stops to take a cruise on the Rhein.

I would suggest to introduce 2 size of pillows - the one we had weren't very comfortable, as for us they were to big. It will be also nice to have tea and coffee equipment in the room, as well as the small fridge. Anyway - there is free tea and coffee and the ground floor. As for breakfast - I am vegetarian and it was ok to me, but as for vegans, there could be some products more.

First off, our preference is to be on the river facing side of the hotel, with a generously size balcony off the room. It is the best view in Mainz. Our wonderful receptionist was able to change our room on the spot. We have been coming here for over ten years, so they know us. The room is large and recently remodeled, and the bathroom is long but fairly narrow. The shower is small but functions very well.

Nothing! Wait- CNN international was available but not working. Too bad!

Somewhat older hotel, but renovated. Very large room and large bathroom. The hotel is situated at the river Rhine and the car can be parked nearby. In the garage there are 2 loading points for electrical cars. The rate is below €10/night. Breakfast is very good and servd at the top-floor with a magnificent view over the city. The city itself is on walking distance (about 10 minutes).

Drinks could not be put on the room and had to be payed at the bar.

Around 30 min train ride from Frankfurt, then 15 min walk from Mainz Hbf. Close to anything you might need - shops, cafes, markets. The room was cozy and warm in winter - you can regulate the heating according to your needs. The room was spacious ( including the bathroom) with a large bed and a small sofa. Toiletries, hair dryer - everything as necessary.

No fridge or kettle in the room - that would be a nice addition to the room. In general - a good hotel that meets all the needs for a short stay, but probably wouldn't recommend it for a longer period as it's missing some touches.
