Well located near Hirschgarten station which allows you to easily access other parts of Munich. There is Hirschgarten itself just near the hotel which has a large beer garden and restaurant along with some resident deer. It is also near to a number of supermarkets and other restaurants should you need them. Breakfast is fairly basic but good and for the price of the hotel I am impressed with the offering. We prefer to stay here than in central Munich / the old town as it is less busy and cheaper, but if you are needing a more central location then this is not the hotel for you. Staff at reception always helpful and very friendly.

Room facing main road is quite noisy if you open the windows

We especially liked the location. The closest train station is within a 5 minutes walk. There are three grocery stores and a very nice park nearby. Our room was quiet and spacey.

The breakfast service was slightly below the level we expected. The counter next to a coffee machine and several tables were not wiped well. There was not enough space, for example, next to the pot with scrambled eggs, to place a serving tray. The prices in the convenience store in the lobby were unreasonably high.

What impressed me most, aside from its great location is the service of the staff. I inquired about day trip to Schloß Neuschwanstein, the gentleman at the reception desk offered very useful suggestions and even helped us throughout the whole booking process. München is our last stop in Germany, the hospitable and professipnal service of the staff gave it a perfect ending. From the hotel, it's convenient to go anywhere you want by subway, which is only two or three minutes by walk. Breakfast is great as well. Highly recommend!

It is a verry basic though functional facility. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Station was within a couple of minutes walking distance away, several very small food joints close by. Easy to get cabs.

It is a very basic facility. Rooms are cleaned every alternate day. No king sized beds, no room service even with extra charges. Small rooms, no cupboard, no iron/ironing table, etc.

Great location for us - easy to get to the airport and the hauptbahnhoff from the local station. Very quiet room on the top floor (tip: ask for a room on a high floor when you book) and it came with everything we needed, including a kettle. Breakfast was fine, busy but not chaotic and the staff working in the breakfast area were particularly friendly. There are two great beer gardens with restaurants a ten minutes stroll across the park if you don't want to travel into the city centre.

Pillows are a bit lumpy, and in common with most chain hotels, the decor is a bit soulless.

Holiday Inn Express is always a flawless choice wherever we go! This couldn't be different! Location is perfect if you don't want to stay in downtown Munich - but the train station is virtually at your doorstep and you're only 3 stations away! The hotel has very good facilities, with amazingly comfortable beds and pillows! Staff were also nice and helpful. This is a very reliable hotel chain and I surely recommend the Munich unit!

Breakfast was very good, with a fresh variety of food, but it could surely be better if it offered some hot options.

Hotel fit my needs for small room that is used for traveling for work. breakfast is very good, (too crowded on Saturdays,,) Lobby and bar and self service are very comfort but too expansive. parking in hotel parking was ok for first day, after that i found parking in streets every day. Crew were very informative and helped in all questions. Thanks, I am repeating visitor, previous visit in Olympia Holiday inn hotel was good and i returned to Holiday inn express west. Avi

Missing a small Jim to exercise a little bit when away from home. ICE machines

First of all, the staff. The "petite" lady with glases and dark hair in reception and the black gentlemen tending the bar have gone the extra mile and tried to help me find a specific place to eat nearby. Even called a few places for information. Hats off to them! 11/10. Facility is located in a very good position. Just by the train station. Trains going through there are direct-rides to both airport and also Marienplatz. No need to change trains whatsoever. Can't stress enough how important that is. Hotel is also 1 minute walk away from the "Backstage", where you could grab some drinks. Also Aldi and Rewe are just 2 buildings away. Great location! The room was just enough in size. And was very clean, other than the carpet. But that is always the case in hotels. You cannot walk around barefoot. I reckon the carpet is very hard to clean. No biggie. Also the window was big. There was a great day light inside the room. Bathroom was good, shower area was large and water presure & temperature were good. My room was looking to the courtyard and was very quite. That bed. OMG. Comfort. Superb Wifi Only downside to the room was there were no slippers. When I asked for a pair, staff told me that this is an "Express" and therefore there are none. What is the cost for a pair of disposable slippers? Wet feet are a nightmare after the shower without the slippers. Also because the carpet is not looking too clean, they are a must. There's a self service grocery area to buy water and other drinks, as well as some chips, chocolate, etc. But they are way too expensive. No need to sell that expensive in my opinion. A milder pricing would help increase the sales. Breakfast was "enough". There were some varieties. Main problem about the breakfast is that the breakfast area, I mean where you get the food, not where you sit, is always way too crowded. There are always long queues.

Self service market prices are just too expensive. No slippers in the room. No minibar in the room. Constant long breakfast queues. For the weekends you have to "book" a timeframe to eat your breakfast. And you have to know when you will eat beforehand. You can imagine the inconvenience.

Good breakfast which starts a traveller up for the day. The S-Bahn station is just a few yards away with a direct link to the airport so the location is excellent. The room was quite warm - a little too warm and the temperature control in the room seemed ineffective. That was my only complaint. I have stayed at this hotel many times and will use it again should I return to Munich.
