The location to old town, restaurants and shops was ideal. The room was lovely, quiet, very spacious and comfortable. Also, the staff were lovely - especially the cleaners who I had a laugh with. It was good to have a kitchenette (but no washing machine unfortunately) and a coffee machine. an iron and board was provided upon request. Our stay was excellent.

Just a couple of small things as feedback. The room looked good but there were several things that needed repairs (make up mirror, fridge door catching on draw when opened). Also breakfast was kind of average compared to other hotels we've used throughout Germany. Although I wouldn't let it stop me from staying here - I'd stay again.

Both breakfast and location were exceptional. The beds were comfortable. The room was well cleaned, fresh, newly painted and furnishings looked new.

No counter space in the bathroom. Not enough drawer space in the room. Not enough space to open out suitcases in the room. It was necessary to leave half of my clothing still packed in the suitcase because of not enough accessible storage space.

The location is excellent. The hotel is 400 meters from Marienplatz and access to U-Bahn and S-Bahn. It is easily walkable to the English Garden and other tourist The neighborhood is full of restaurants and bars. The hotel is amazing for the price. It has obviously undergone recent renovations, and everything was clean, shiny and worked perfectly. The room was plenty big; the bathroom was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful and a pleasure.

The only negative is something beyond the hotel's control. It is on a very narrow street with 5-story buildings on each side. This effectively creates a canyon that amplifies noise. There are at least 3 restaurants/bars on the street. When people step out of a bar and into the street at 1 am to smoke and chat, their talking echoes around. If your room is on the front of the hotel, you cannot sleep with your windows open no matter how pleasant the weather because of this noise

Hotel an der Oper was modern, clean, comfortable and in a superb location for the Christmas market and old town - we were really impressed with the comfort of the beds and the bathroom was very clean - and we had robes & slippers which were not expected but very useful. The attached Italian restaurant was really good and popular. Breakfast was an additional extra in the hotel - definitely worth adding it. And there was a filled minibar in the room (chargeable). We are frequent travellers and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling into Munich to see the sights.

There was no kettle or coffee machine in the room. Also, a daily top up of bottled water would have been nice.

Excellent location near the Opera House and the old town. Well-lit, clean and quiet room. Nice touches like the fresh orchids in the room and fresh flowers on the breakfast table. Good choice at breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

As there is no bar (although an associated Italian restaurant in the evenings in the breakfast space), I would have liked tea and coffee facilities in the room.

Great location and a good value.

There was no ability to have a coffee in the morning. There was a breakfast available, but it was €23. There was coffee nearby, but it would be nice to have it on the property. Also, after the first bottle of water, you had to buy your water which I found inconvenient also.

Fantastic location close to Marienplatz and Odeonplatz, providing a great base from which to see a large part of Munich. The room was bigger than expected as we were upgraded, and it was very quiet. The breakfast was great with a wide choice of foodstuffs and a very broad window of time to eat it in. The room turned into an Italian restaurant in the evening, which was also excellent.

A double bed with large duvet rather than twin beds pushed together with separate duvets would have been preferred, and we would have appreciated low light bedside lights.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable. It is located very close to the city centre which we would reach in less than 10 mins walk. There is a subway close by,which connects you to the main train station, if you want to explore other places by train. Alternatively you can use taxi's for short trips within the city if you want to reduce the walking. Breakfast was also good.

If you are looking for a hotel at a good location for shopping or dining in the center of München for a reasonable price, this is your hotel. The rooms are newly decorated in a traditional style, are always very clean and have all features that you might need. Being a small hotel checking in en out are very quick with a friendly staff at the reception.

They put us in a small double despite me being a loyal customer having stayed in the hotel for 5 years running . I have asked for a big room when I booked. Eventually after the first night the manager put us to room 57 when I have always asked for.
