The Breakfast is superb as is the breakfast wait staff. The dining room is very nicely decorated. The location cannot be beat if you are wanting to stay in old town. One block from the main plaza and lots of local markets and good dining nearby. Rooms were clean and plenty of hot water for showers. The hotel manager referred us to a little restruarant "off the beaten path" that was charming and excellent.

Rooms are on the small size even by European standards, with little space to hang clothes. The mattress on the bed was on the squishy side meaning it probably needs replacing. The little safe in our room did not work. Rooms on the front of the hotel do tend to get a lot of street noise which seems pretty constant throughout the night. Also there is beer hall next door. Patron's smoke outside and the smoke tends to drift up and into the windows so be cautious.

Comfortable and efficient single room. Very nice shower and bath. Quiet location off elevator above breakfast room. And an excellent breakfast it was as well. Helpful, friendly staff. I was looking for a modest hotel in the Altstadt within walking distance of all the old city attractions and restaurants and the Hotel Schlicker proved and excellent choice. Taxis and Hop On Hop Off sightseeing bus stop within a few meters. I would definitely return.

Wish the fan in the bathroom was independent of the light being on but not that big a deal. Surprised how many cigarette smokers (outside on the street and on Marienplatz) there still are in Germany but obviously not their doing.

If you are visiting the Christmas markets or any of the major sites in Munich, this hotel is the perfect location. I had looked at other hotels that were just outside of Aldstadt, but I am so glad I chose this one. The location right next to Marienplatz meant that I could pop in during the middle of the day to rest, drop off my bags, or use the facilities. As a solo female traveler, I also feel safer being in an active part of town where there are always people on the streets. Despite the downtown location, my room was so quiet at night! If this is important to you, you should book a room in the rear building. I booked a large single room, which was very spacious. The breakfast in the morning was a wonderful way to start to the day, and the staff were always friendly and attentive. The staff at the front desk were also very friendly, and one gentleman even helped me find a clothing donation bin. The S Bahn is a few minutes walk away so it was so easy to return to the airport. Highly recommend!

One of the best hotels we have stayed in out of the 7 we stayed in our eurotrip. The room was amazing, well furnished, fridge, safe and lots of space, slots and places for you to store everything. We barely heard any sounds from neighboring rooms, which is great and, unfortunately, rare nowadays. The bathroom was spacious and super clean. My wife and I are very picky and we have an eye for detail, so we would know for sure. The staff was amazing! The cleaning lady was really kind and helpful whenever we needed toiletries. Special thanks to Mr. Paul, the night manager. I won't go into details because people might use this information improperly to take advantage of their goodwill. What I will say is that his kindness and his great help when we needed the most will never be forgotten! The young lady with Paul was very kind and helpful too. Sorry I didn't catch your name! The breakfast was delicious and the variety was great. Again, the staff was very kind here as well. The location is great, but if you like peace and quiet, perhaps you should ask for one of the rooms on the quieter side like we did. The street is busy and noisy, especially on the weekends. Other than that, you will have everything important and necessary close to you. Book a room here and enjoy your stay :)

The location was so great, perfect for visiting any part of town by walking, but especially the old town, Christmas markets, and outdoor Viktualien Market. Lots of food options nearby as well as a grocery market and convienent store if you need anything. The Residenz was a little further walk, but we had no problem walking it. Breakfast was really good (meats, cheeses, fruit, pastery, and yogurts) and the staff was very helpful. Very beautiful place. I would definately stay again.

I knew there would be two beds pushed together, but they were so light weight that they slid away from eachother at night. There were also very noisy pigeons outside the window and loud church bells at 6am, but that's not really the hotels fault, but it was still an issue keeping us up at night.

The location is so great, a 2 minute walk to Marienplatz and beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Through the lobby and past the kitchen area is a little ally way with tables and a nice little setting to have your coffee and a smoke if you would like. I believe there are free bikes there to borrow as well. A grocery store about 1 minute walk on the corner was great for us. Breakfast area and staff feels like fine dining, so nice!

Be a bit prepared, the room is super tiny, but really it was fine for us because we didn’t spend a lot of time in there. Bathroom was exactly what was needed.

The location is a quarter block from Marien Plaza. There’s lots of activity on Tal street including bars and restaurants. My room was on the backside, even with the window open I did not hear much noise. The staff are not very friendly, mostly have a dry affect. They provide you what you need, no more , no less. The room and furnishings were simple but very comfortable. The water pressure was good. The breakfast and restaurant staff were wonderful.

The dry personalities in the front desk. They just provided the minimal service needed, nothing else, not even any pleasantries.

Best aspects: - location was excellent, especially for public transport - staff helpfulness, including before we got there (they organised a cake for my daughter’s birthday and made her feel really special at breakfast so thank you!) - breakfast was excellent, with a selection of food to suit all tastes - wifi was strong -there was a minibar/fridge, which could be used to keep your own drinks cool - rooms were lovely and clean and were kept like that throughout our stay The room was perfectly adequate, with plenty of seating, and was easily accessible by a lift. We would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again if we were ever in Munich. Tip: if you arrive late ring the doorbell at the side of the front door to let a member of staff know you are there

The only issue was that the air con was not very good (a typical older hotel system), so we had to buy a fan when we were there as the room was extremely hot. The bed was also really wobbly when we got there - on investigation it was because 2 of the wheels had become unclipped and were not attached to the bed. We did not report this as it was very late, and I fixed it myself - however, the rooms just need a final check before being declared ready.

- The hotel feels as a 4 star! For me it’s strange it has only 3 stars. - Located right in the old city center, the hotel has a pleasant traditional and warm atmosphere. - Friendly and professional staff. Especially the night receptionists who helped us a lot. - Own parking (you better check the availability and parking lots’ size in advance) - Very clean rooms. Many people said they are too small, but I disagree (I’ve seen smaller). There are plenty of space for two people. - Great heating system. We had an open window the whole night and it was still warm in the room. And with a backyard view it was pretty quiet. - Decent breakfast with lots of options. You can even order a lactose free coffee. - Teapot and shoehorn in the room!

Some minor things that world be nice to have in a room: - slippers; - more sockets near a bed.

Breakfast was great. Was surprised by the quality of the food. Great way to start the day. Location was convenient to all we wanted to see. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. We felt safe and enjoyed our stay.

Room was a little small, but very functional. Distance was a bit of a walk from the central train station (about a mile). We learned after the initial trek that the trains could have been used to get us closer to the hotel. Our return to the train station was much easier because of that.
