Breakfast was more than adequate. Freshly cooked eggs: boiled, scrambled or fried. Good bacon and surprise surprise, smoked salmon. Plus, cold meats, cheese selection, tomatoes, cucumber etc. and selection of bread rolls and mini-croissants and confitures.

Accessability for the less able, e.g. lift or no steps is impossible in a 16thCentury building of historic interest, but what it lacked in that regard was more than offset by its decor both inside and out. This did not come as a surprise but it ought to be noted.

Room with a view on the Rhine, beautifully decorated and comfortable, as were the beds. Bottled water was complimentary and plentiful. Centrally located on a hiking tour of main attractions.

Bathroom was small, but spacious enough for one person at a time. Parking is a problem in most European cities nowadays, but there are spaces close by (use parking disk or pay at automat), except on Thursday night and Friday morning, as there is a market on Friday morning. No elevator on site, so for elderly and disabled, access to floors 2 and 3 (3 has the view on the Rhine) is only possible using stairs. Restaurant in hotel is closed one day a week, but others are available in walking distance. Hotel is not on main drag along the Rhine, so prepare to navigate through narrow passages to get to Oberwesel's main shopping street.

Beautiful hotel in a very old building. Room was lovely with a view of the Rhine. The breakfast is delicious with plenty of choice including a hot eggs and bacon option. Staff were lovely & very helpful. We ate at the restaurant one evening only as it only does Thai food - which was very nice but we like German traditional options and they had none. We walked to Bacharach along the Rhine in about 1 hr 20 which was an easy flat walk and bach again. Highly recommend this hotel if visiting the lovely historic town of Oberwesel.

Beautiful old building, very well maintained and with friendly staff. Breakfast was very good, buffet style but they also offer eggs made at the moment.

It was not a problem for us at all, since we were traveling light with backpacks, but its important to say that since it is an old building, i believe it has no elevator. If you have mobility issues, its something to take i to account. However i think that if its not an issue, its well worth the stay even if you have to carry your suitcase upstairs

The hotel had rustic charm. The room was comfortable and large enough for a solo traveler. The staff was very courteous and helpful and the hotel served a fabulous European style breakfast buffet. My room had a view of the Rhine River and the historical town wall. I would stay there again.

Not sleeping with windows open was a small challenge. There were ear plugs on bedside table. Train traveled directly along historical town wall. I had no problem sleeping, without ear plugs, when windows were closed.

The woman at reception was exceptionally helpful to us, in obtaining the parking permit, serving a great breakfast. The dining room was elegant, and the food well presented, and was very good. The room excellent.

Would have been better to have the room on the first level, but I had no internet the previous day to confirm that opportunity - our fault.

Beautiful property in the main square of Oberwesel. Super friendly staff. Very comfortable room with nice view over the Rhine. The hotel is located right next to the train line but the soundproofing is perfect. Very good breakfast.

Great location, rooms, breakfast, and all of the women staff members were excellent and friendly and kind.

The one male host was extremely rude. My son spilled water on the dining room table when we were eating and he yelled about cleaning it up. We asked for dessert and he didn’t give us a menu (just old cheese cake). I said I didn’t care for any and asked for other options. He said there were no other desserts. Then after that he served the local guests next to us ice cream. When we made arrangements for breakfast (that closes at 10), we wanted a 9:30 am reservation and he said it was too late and would have to be 9 am.

Great hotel. Lovely people. Dignified, classic, comfortable. Huge room. Lots of complimentary water. Right in heart of this small town. We were out of season and had no trouble parking very close by. Limited number of places to eat immediate to hotel. Hotel itself has restaurant service Thai food. Unexpected but was delicious. Breakfast was delightful. Individually cooked to order hot food, buffet for other items. Endless coffee brought to order. Excellent.

If you don’t like train noise close by you might object. In fact we found it quite soporific.

I loved the location of the hotel, it was right on the river and close to town. Ir had easy parking and free water. The look of the hotel was great.

Room was a bit small, right next to the train. I didn't mind the noise but may be noisy for others. Hotel provided ear plugs.
