We had a stylish, clean, but slightly tired room in the main part of the hotel. The location in the centre of town next to the cathedral was excellent. The food and beer were very good as was the table service. The al fresco breakfasts were lovely.

This is a carefully nuanced comment. The hotel is much bigger than we expected. Its courtyard restaurant is incredibly popular (literally with a hundred plus diners). Even as residents, we had to take our place in a queue waiting for a table. Thankfully the very helpful hotel receptionists intervened on our behalf, and saw us bumped to tables where we had super meals. Without those interventions I am not sure we would have been able to dine at “our” hotel during our stay.

Oh my goodness. This was such an amazing place to stay in Regensburg. The location is perfect….right in the middle of this darling town. Walkable to all of the Christmas Markets. The courtyard is so picturesque and right below St. Peter’s so you hear the beautiful bells. Do yourself a favor and get the suite. It was worth every penny. Huge, beautifully decorated with a large free standing tub, windows all the way around to view the river and cobblestone streets. Yummy breakfast and very friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Immediately off bicycle trail , great location and next Regensburg Dom . Great indoor secure bicycle storage . Reception was very helpful and friendly . Spoke English well . Elevator to upper floors . Room a bit dated but very clean and bright . Comfortable bed with good storage . Nice , clean bathroom . Close to a plethora of shoppes and restaurants , On site restaurant was very good and had reasonable price point . Breakfast was very copious and good with multiple hot and cold food choices . Definitely would stay here again .

A bit dated but with great character

Wonderful location in the heart of Regensburg. The room was well appointed with plenty of storage. The bedding was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice with good variety. The attached restaurant also serves great food and beer.

The bathroom lighting is automatic. We would have preferred manual light activation to make it less distracting if using the bathroom in the dark. The layout of the breakfast area is not well optimized. During busy times, there's too much potential to bump into other guests. The entrance to the reception is not immediately apparent. Better signage would help.

Our 10 night stay at the Bischofshof in November was excellent and well beyond our expectations. Our room was very comfortable with a view outside our door of St.Peter's Cathedral, just across the courtyard! ALL of the hotel staff were kind and helpful from the moment we checked in. We had a rental car and parking on site was easy. The hotel location in the old city is superb, the restaurant food and morning breakfast buffet are also very good. Highly recommend staying in this very historic, yet modern, hotel.

There was nothing that we didn't like!

Excellent location in historic Regensburg! Hotel appears to be a renovated wing of the historic building behind the cathedral with a lovely inner courtyard. The attached restaurant historic elements remain, and light dinners taken there. Delicious soups! Breakfast buffets were included in the hotel rate, and provided in a dedicated area in the hotel ground floor. Room spacious, clean, and very welcoming. Hotel was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season.

Nothing negative comes to mind!

The rooms were clean and well arranged. The staff was helpful and courteous. The restaurant in the courtyard was good (and incredibly convenient). It was close to the river (why we picked it, close to Viking docks). We would stay here again should we be back in Regensburg.

The only thing I would say is to have a more private door for the toilet. It wasn't a deal-breaker, and more of a nice-to-have, but it would have been nice. As it was, everything was fine.

I liked the location as it was very close to the Stonebridge and old town. I also liked that the parking garage was near, almost next-door to the hotel. That made it very convenient for our rental car. The hotel had a good breakfast and I did miss a coffee maker in the room.

I wish there was a coffee maker in the room or a hotpot to heat up water even for instant coffee would’ve been OK.

A nice hotel very central in Regensburg. We stayed in the green side building. The rooms where in great condition and seemed newly renovated. Our room was facing the inner court yard and that was excellent. Full of life in the day and quiet in the evning. The staff was very nice and helpful - including house keeping. The hotel is right behind the cathedral and the area had lots of cozy shops and small streets to explore. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. From the hotel there is a 2 min walk to the river.

The only minus was the breakfast. The selection was okay but the buffet was difficult to get around in as the room was very small. Also the acoustics in the dining area was awful. When it was full with guest the noise was immense.

The personnel were friendly and helpful; seemed knowledgeable and delighted you were there. The location is excellent, right in the middle of everything; finding the entrance for the hotel is difficult, and the parking was nightmarish, but that is expected in old European town centers. At least they had a garage underground available to park in. Breakfast was good. There is a Bier Garden and restaurant on the premises, but they serve limited items. The beds were fine; typical of German hotels, the mattresses are on the firm side, but one should expect this.

Even though the rooms were comfortable, the bathroom, while large for a European hotel, have a bathtub with one of those handheld shower heads. One cannot help but splatter water on the floor trying to use it; I had to crouch down in the tub to wash and rinse my hair, and had to keep one foot on the shower head to keep it from flying all over the place.
