We stayed in the Kaiser suite, and it's even better than described. It is updated very large and luxurious with many comforts of home. There is a small patio that we enjoyed a beverage on before going out to dinner. The breakfast buffet was included in our rate and is definitely worth selecting when booking. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Christine in reception. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful big room. Perfect location in middle of Regensburg, easy walk to everything. ( 15min easy walk to train). Studio had lovely big bath, great shower, comfortable bed. Washing machine and dryer a big bonus. Friendly staff...nothing not to like

Well, we expected this hotel to be good ! It wasn't good... it was really really great. From the moment we arrived, we felt I to was going to be special and we were right.  Our host, Christina, brought us to our room (a Deluxe Queen Suite) and we loved it straight away. It had everything and more than we expected. It overlooked the Haidplaz so we had a prime view on all the activity going on below... but the windows were so good, we could shut out the noise if and when we wanted.  The large bed was superbly comfortable. The room was also large so we had lots of space. The bathroom was a perfect size and everything was spotlessly clean. The cooking area was well equipped and very functional.  Breakfast was wonderful... A great choice of food, in lovely surroundings... a super way to start the day. Christina was so welcoming & lovely and she gave us great background to the hotel's history, the oldest part of which dates back to 1230, and its links to famous people through the ages. The other staff that we met were very pleasant & smiley and so helpful.  The location of the hotel is perfect and all the sights are within easy walking distance... as is the train station. There is also two free bus routes (A & B) that pass by the hotel to take you around the city, if you want them.  The tourist office has a free app that gives you a marvelous walking tour of the city. Regensburg is a special gem - very beautiful - not too big and not too small. Our top picks are the Bavarian Historical Museum, closely followed by the Thurn und Taxis Palace.. both are simply brilliant but in very different ways. There are tons of bars and restaurants within easy reach of the hotel. We would highly recommend a stay in Hotel Goldnes Kreus.

We enjoyed staying in this lovely, historic hotel in the heart of Regensburg. Our room was well appointed, clean and comfortable, with nods to the history of this hotel. (Beams, four-poster bed). Parking is in a public lot about 3 minutes from the hotel. Glad there was an elevator for our luggage! Breakfast was very nice, but the best part of our stay were the people. Great staff, very welcoming, and helpful when we needed to solve a quick issue with our rental car. Two thumbs up!

The bathroom was a bit outdated and could use more light.

Somehow we managed to drive our SUV rental down a lane that was surely meant for 2 bicycles to take turns leading the way. The kind owner, who had already stayed late to check us in, said she had been trying to reach us to warn us of the Google Map vehicle mouse trap! Too distracted, we had missed them and had only booked an hour earlier. She showed us our room, grabbed the hotel keys and said, “Let’s go. I will help you’. Back down the narrow lanes, in the dark and the cold, she looked over the car. Went to front to measure by taking large steps and counting. ‘Yes’, she said ‘I think you can make it’. My husband and I looked at each other and said okay then…. Going back would be equally as difficult. And then 2 women brilliantly directed an already frazzled man to victory with a half inch to spare on both sides!! We parked our vehicle in the back hotel courtyard. It was then we realized that the PARKING REALLY WAS SO SIMPLE!!! Easy in and easy out, if you go the right way!! Ah, the adventure of it all…. What a wonderful woman the owner is. The hotel itself was everything promised and then some. Complimentary water and coffee in the room. Breakfast included until 11:30am!!! In the most beautiful area in the heart of it all. A TREASURE!

The room was very large and comfortable. Despite being right in the center it was very quiet and we slept well. The building is centuries old with thick walls and gigantic wooden beams and I loved the feeling of being steeped in history. Plus the location is excellent: right in the middle of the old town and walking distance to everything.

The decor was a little sparse and modern and I felt like they could have made it a bit more cozy. But this was a minor point and probably a very personal one. Overall, it was good value and a great location.

Beautiful building , lovely furnishings and big rooms. Nice sq outside to sit and have a drink. Easy to walk to the sights. Fabulous breakfast room and many delights. It was my birthday and I had a cake included in the breakfast. Nice of them. All staff were helpful and cheerful.

Not so much a dislike yet it’s in a pedestrian area and to drive to the parking courtyard was a tad tricky yet the staff were helpful and explained how to arrive and park.

The breakfast was excellent and the location could not be better. It is very central, located at the heart of the Altstadt and at the same time is very quiet so you can rest. The old building is very charming and the rooms are spacious. The view from the cafe is beautiful and the attention by the hostess was absolutely welcoming and warm. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Nothing, everything was good.

Situated in the centre of Regensburg, the Goldenes Kreuz is a beautiful hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was served in the cafe next door and there was lots of choice, including freshly cooked eggs. Staff were great too.

Everything was great, nothing to complain about. However if you are driving into Regensburg the streets are very narrow and pedestrianised so parking can be difficult. But parking garages are available

We had a lovely room in an amazing location, within walking distance of all the sights. Our hostess was lovely and breakfast was delicious. The bed was moderately comfortable and the room was quiet - just what we needed for a good night sleep. I only wish we had planned for afternoon cake in the cafe before our departure, it looked amazing!

The room lighting was a bit dark but the charm of the hotel made up for it.
