The location of the Utopia Ermou was absolutely brilliant, we could walk to all the main places of interest within about 15 minutes, which also made it easy to pop back for a break during the day. The hotel overlooks Ermou Street, the main pedestrianised shopping street in Athens, it was nearly always busy, but as our room was high up and at the back we didn't have any problems with noise. The hotel only occupies from level 3 to 7 of the building, so the front rooms may well also be fine. The area feels very safe and friendly, the restaurants nearby were not as touristy as around the main attractions in Athens, and we found them a bit cheaper, but still very friendly to tourists. We had breakfast included in our stay, as people have commented the choice is limited, if you like eggs that helps, we enjoyed the scrambled eggs, fried eggs, omelette and avocado toast, which were all made very nicely and came with tea or coffee and orange juice. The rooms were great, roomy and quite stylish, although watch out for the step from the platform the bed is on if you get up for the toilet during the night! It was great to have a fridge and each day we had two new bottles of water left for us as well as plenty of tea and coffee sachets. Aircon was good. The staff were lovely, especially on reception, always spoke to us on our way past and happy to help. The rooftop bar/restaurant had a brilliant view of the acropolis, especially when it was lit up at night!

All in all I would be very happy to recommend the Utopia Ermou, apart from a couple of small niggles. Firstly - the shower. It was very difficult to shower without causing a flood in the bathroom, the problem is the design, which needs to be sorted out. Secondly - lack of storage in the rooms, there are no drawers. As we stayed for a week it would have been really useful to have some drawer space, rather than a bit of hanging space and a couple of shelves. We managed to live with both issues, but it is a shame as otherwise the hotel is perfect.

The reason I would come back would be Aggelos and team who are extremely friendly and helpful. These young people working so well are an inspiration to young people across the world. Cleanliness. Towels can be changed as often as liked and toiletries supplied adequately. One litre water supplied daily in the fridge was very handy. Perfect location for sightseeing. The highlight was the view of the Acropolis from the window.

Classic room could have at least one small wardrobe or drawers. Lighting needed above the dressing mirror. No staircase so need to depend on the lift even if one can climb down to start one’s day quickly. But these points are outweighed by the positive points stated above, I would stay here again.

Loved the location- it's right outside the popular Ermou shopping street. Literally right in the middle of the action. The view of the Parthenon from our room was really great as well. The room was clean & bed was comfy. Everyone was super friendly. Lots of positives for this hotel! Would stay again.

The noise from the street could be a factor, but you get what you sign up for so just be aware! Also, I booked this hotel due to the rooftop restaurant, but was NOT notified that it was under construction during our stay. So that was disappointing. Maybe provide a note to the guests beforehand next time. The hole in the bathroom mirror was plugged with tissue... which looked really gross and unsanitary.

Not easy to get picked up as Ermou is a pedestrian only street, and taxis are not allowed to stop in streets. But easy to walk or get the metro!

The hotel is placed perfectly in the middle of Athens, which gives easy access to the most important historical and shopping sites. The staff is amazing and friendly, and is willing to help with any request. The rooms are perfectly cleaned and have all the necessities you might need. I'd like to specifically mention the restaurant staff's amazing attitude. The blonde woman (I don't know her name) who works there greeted us with a warm smile every morning and made us feel like home. The food was great and looked very appealing, and the view to Acropolis from the restaurant's window was very meditating. We will gladly return here in our next trip. Highly recommended.

Location, location location!! In the center of attractions of interest (Ermou market, Syntagma, Monastiraki, metro stations etc), you don't lose time, crucial for a 5 day trip. Breathtaking Acropolis breakfast view to start your day. 24/7 assistane if needed. Magnificent friendly people (not just stuff) welcoming you in the front desk and the breakfast area. clean 100%, a magnificent experience WILL come back. Happy New Year.

Not much to mention, it was an all around Christmas perfect experience. Perfect value for money services.

Great location, lovely hotel. We had a very large room with a bed big enough for 3 people! Air conditioning very powerful, probably the best I’ve ever known when travelling abroad. Staff were all welcoming and polite. Very kind of the reception staff to include a welcome drink and breakfast during our stay. The roof top bar and restaurant has good views over the city. Food good quality and prices on par with other restaurants around the city.

Only downside we found was it was a bit loud outside during the evening. It’s a popular and busy street so we’re woken a couple of times by noise outside (with the windows shut). Not the hotels fault but just an observation.

Staff are fantastic The location is great easy walking to everywhere. Room was large and bathroom was great with everything thing you need. The roof top restaurant has great views of the Arcoplois, great food and service. The tea drinkers need to take their tea bag from their room and ask for hot water to make one with your breakfast, they don't serve tea at the restaurant.

The noise from the street unfortunately for us they where doing construction 🚧 down the road and they started at 6am, could here this in our room.

I liked pretty much everything about the hotel…the best possible location, spacious and beautifully decorated rooms, super clean. And the breakfast was fantastic too and with the best view of the Acropolis 😍 And the same rooftop restaurant Kalispera was spectacular by night too…what a view!!🤩 Very friendly and helpful staff too!

I stayed three nights and on two of those nights I felt like the AC had been switched off at night. I complained about it and on the third night did not face this issue at all. I hope this doesn’t happen again.
