That Acropolis view! Wow! Great to wake up to, and cool at night. Plus, great location - short walk to all the major stuff - but also surprisingly quiet considering. Didn't hear any traffic. Fridge in room, great and powerful rain-head shower. Black out curtains. 2 channels in English after 8pm, and of course 24 hour BBC World News. Didn't eat or drink anything in the hotel - not sure if there is anything - but lots of supermarket/corner shops (search AB or Bazaar) for drinks,

Crazy lift! It says 2 people - but 150kgs - so really only one with luggage, and even then a squeeze. Only used it once. It's lie stepping into a capsule! Nuts!

– No private parking for guests, though this seems common for most hotels in the area — worth noting rather than criticizing. – Slow Wi-Fi: good enough for browsing, but not for smooth YouTube or Netflix streaming.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and tidy. The hotel was close to everything, just a short walk to Syntagma and a 5kin walk to Monastraki, close to the Arcopolis, right in the middle of the action. Close to eateries, laundry facilities, shopping, great location. Had a nice garden area on roof with a good view of Acropolis especially at night.

The bathroom was a bit on the smaller side and the shower in our room was tiny. If you are a bigger person you would definitely struggle with this even a smaller person would have found it cramped which was a shame as everything else was great. Not sure of sizing in other rooms. Our room was small but it had an outdoor patio which was nearly the same size which was nice and not all rooms had this.

Excellent location in the Plaka- walk to everything. Super helpful and friendly staff, nothing was a problem. We were put on the top floor in a room that could access the rooftop area. Anyone can use it in the day then it is locked off at 10pm. It was secure, quiet and the most amazing views over the Acropolis - especially at night when lit up! We enjoyed sunset drinks with other travellers on the rooftop. Great food options across the road and around the corner for authentic Greek food.

We chose Athos because we wanted to stay in Plaka. What we didn't realize until we got there was that the rooftop deck has an amazing view of the Acropolis! Our first night, we were too tired to go out for dinner, so we got Greek takeout from a little place straight across the street -- which has AMAZING food at very reasonable prices -- and ate up on the roof. The Athos staff insisted on sending plates and utensils up with us. Breakfast was excellent as well. We'd definitely stay here again!

The location of the hotel is brilliant - easy walk to the main part of Plaka and the Acropolis and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes everywhere. There are two cafes at the end of the street and a small restaurant directly opposite the hotel. Our room had a view of the Acropolis and there is a roof terrace where guests can sit which also has a view of the Acropolis. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

I booked a double room with a very comfortable bed. Room located on a quiet street. Slept well both nights. The hotel felt very safe, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. The location is excellent—close to Syntagma Square, Plaka, and lots of restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They kindly allowed me to store my luggage before check-in, and later in the day, after I checked in, I found my bags had already been placed in my room.

Nothing really though would have liked milk in my room for coffee in the morning.

The Athos Hotel is well located with a helpful staff. The room was clean, the WiFi worked well. Not handicap accesible. The shower area could be considered small, with an overall average bathroom size. I never had breakfast because it starts serving at 7am, it is not included, and you have to notify the night before of your breakfast reservation, which is not overly convenient. There is a great restaurant directly across, a hole in a wall, but great food. Two bakeries very close by. The staff was, in general, helpful and very courteous.

I did came home with evidence of bedbugs bites all over my legs, even though I inspected the bed thoroughly before and did not see evidence. I stayed at two other hotels during the trips and are unsure which hotel room was likely the one with bedbugs.

Excellent location for exploring Athens and a short walk to the Parthenon. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a lovely rooftop to see the Acropolis at night. (BYO drinks from the nearby Wine Tunnel). Staff were friendly and helpful. We explored using the 'hop on hop off' bus which had several stops nearby.

Room was basic and a little small to fit three people. We requested a room with a view but were told (in advance) this is not an option for family rooms. Air conditioner did not cover the whole room, so our son was cold underneath whilst my husband was too hot.

The hotel is a 5min walk from Syntagma Square/Metro. Located very close to Plaka and Acropolis. Rooms and bathrooms are very small. My adult daughter and I upgraded to room 501 to have more space. There were a few issues: safe did not work; hair dryer and plug in the bathroom did not work and the shower leaked through the sliding doors. Other then that the hotel was good value, and we would stay there again. The location also felt very safe.
