Don't be dissuaded by the neighbourhood - it is a little rough around the edges but we felt perfectly safe and there are restaurants, shops and public transportation right at the doorstep. Fantastic price/performance. The room is small and a little worn but it was perfectly clean. Like, I've been at 4* hotels with a lower standard of cleanliness. Super comfy bed, speedy wifi, powerful AC, extra friendly staff, large balcony. At this price in the centre of Athens - you probably can't do any better.

There is a bit of noise coming from the hallway. But you can't hear much from other rooms or the street. Basic amenities. A little worn down. The view is rough.

The reception staff were excellent and extremely helpful. The hotel is less than five minutes walk from the metro station which: is easy to reach from the airport; has a direct line to the port of Piraeus; and three short stops to the Acropolis. You can also walk to the Acropolis area from the hotel. There is an excellent bakery and good cafe next to the hotel. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable.

Very close to Omonia Square & Metro. A few late night eating and drinking options. Cheap clothes market close by. Excellent supermarket, bakery and pharmacy close by. Not a bad base for exploring the city. Americans will almost certainly describe this area as "sketchy" because of the graffiti, drug users and homeless, but the local police were always visible. Welcome to post pandemic Europe folks ! Comfy beds. Free shower gel. Strong WiFi. Fridge in room. BBC News on TV. The staff we met were all very friendly and helpful. Yes, you can leave your luggage. Metro tip - it is well worth buying the 72 hour Metro ticket for €20. It becomes "live" when you first validate at the airport station. You get unlimited "swipes" in and out of the Athens Metro within 72 hours including your final departure journey to the airport. (The single fare into the city is €9 !) Also, when you arrive at Omonia via the Metro, (probably after changing at Syntagma,) walk forward along the platform, in the direction of travel, to find the best exit. (We unwisely used the "rear" stairwell but the two exit gates would not let my wife through and she was stuck here until the next train came in.)

The air con was an unexpected bonus for us but it wasn't particularly strong. The rooms are very compact as is the bathroom. Three people in three single beds with luggage might struggle. TV remote was problematic but not a big deal. Shower door was missing but Greek bathrooms all have floor drainage anyhow.

The staff is excellent, 10/10, they answered all our questions and were happy to even recommend some of the best things to see in the area. The room was very clean and we got fresh sheets and towels every day. The value for money is very good compared with other hotels in the area. There are a lot of great cafeterias, pharmacies, and stores close by, and the metro stop is a few metres away.

The area that the hotel is in is a little scary at night especially if traveling alone. The room is a good size but even with the balcony door closed there was noise at night from outside that woke us up. The floors are quite creaky so other guests coming in at night made noise as well.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Elikon. The room was clean and the atmosphere quiet, making it a relaxing place to rest. Its location is very convenient—perfect for walking around and exploring the area. Overall, it is a great value for a simple, comfortable stay. The front entrance staircase is quite high, which made it a bit challenging to carry my luggage. However, the staff were very quick to come and help, which I really appreciated. Their prompt assistance made a big difference and left a positive impression.

One thing to note: the road behind the hotel, especially on the left side, didn’t feel very safe at night. I’d recommend sticking to the main streets after dark.

Perfectly located hotel (especially for people who are taking a ferry from Piraeus port the next morning - it's just next to the metro M1 Omonia, 20 minutes ride to Piraeus), close to the historical center (walking distance), but at the same time on a calm street, so I could sleep with the french window open, which is amazing (avoiding air-condition at night). The staff were respectful and professional. The wi-fi seemed relatively slow, but stable. The room was small, but nice, perfectly clean and smelled nicely, which is essential to me. The bed was comfortable. The price was very good given the peak touristic season. The check-in and check-out were totally smooth and hasslefree. The reception is open 24 hours. Coffee and tea at your disposition in the room. Shower gel, shampoo, two pieces of hard soap. I missed nothing, maybe a small bottle of water in the fridge would make it even more amazing. I would definitely stay again.

The pillows could be softer / smaller, but that's a detail.

We liked the hotel. If you are like me looking for a clean, safe place in the city center to stay and spend the whole day exploring this remarkable city, this is a great place for you. Close to the metro and airport connection, quiet at night, there is a kettle for hot water, coffee and tea and excellent friendly staff. There is no problem with hot water in the bathroom either. I would define the place as a basic hotel with excellent value for money. Very close to Omonia Square, the surrounding area has buildings under reconstruction,, but we did not have any problems. The hotel has a 24-hour reception.

Stayed here before so as expected. Warm welcome at reception and the guy helped us with our luggage. Probably the smallest room we’ve had here but ok for an overnighter. Firm beds, tea/coffee/kettle, good air con., small but manageable modern bathroom, nice towels and toiletries provided. Picked up a hairdryer and extra pillow at reception. Lovely little balcony with seating although time/weather meant we didn’t get to use. Located just off the square - down the side of Venetti so easy to find. Omonia has seen improvements and a few big name hotels have moved in. Still a bit sketchy down side streets but easy to avoid. A short walk down Athinas Street to reach Monastiraki. Don’t be put off because of Omonia’s reputation. The area is improving.

All as expected.

Kettle, tea/coffee provided, large fridge, lots of towels, more pillows provided upon request, someone always on reception (all very good), not disturbed when "do not disturb" sign on outside of door but maid very happy to assist when asked, decent size room (three beds) and balcony, and decent size bathroom. Very quiet, supermarket almost opposite, taxi rank and metro only a three minute or so walk.

Quite a few stairs up to reception from street level (not much they can do about that) but there is a lift to other floors. Our room had a step up into the bathroom which was a bit disconcerting. The shower glass door was a bit short which meant that the bathroom floor and bath mat got wet even before getting out of the shower.

Convenience is key - superb value for money for a room with private bathroom, comfortable beds/pillows, even containing a wardrobe and minifridge. Location right off Omonoia square with easy walking and metro access to the whole city. Also, the 24hr reception is useful as I arrived late in the night. The big bright windows with a Parisian balcony were a nice addition.

Not really a negative as much as expectation management - the room was naturally small, and the orientation of the toilet in the bathroom felt very cramped for a taller person.
