The food and staff hospitality is top tier. The roof top restaurant is as advertised, and the food easily is one of the best we had all outside restaurants including. Breakfast spread is wide with a lot of options, better than most branded chains. The staff are very helpful and go beyond to help.

All facilities are smaller in size than their brand chain counterparts. For example the lifts can only carry 3 people at a time meaning baby strollers are near impossible to go in. Also an older model lifts with a door on the outside making the whole lift affair an adventure. Rooms are quite smaller as well, but neat and well maintained.

we have stayed for 4 days . I cant complain, room we had was a double room with balcony, last floor. Beds were comfortable enough, room service was good, tv was allright, A/C was ice cold, iron board was in the room . breakfast was 5 star, lots of choices . PLeased with the stay, close to town center . Kostas and Milena at reception were very helpfull, i could even borrow a iron to iron my clothes. Thank you

the tables in the breakfast room were wobbly, i couldnt find a single table to not be wobbly. I would suggest for the single beds to have stoppers on, it will help a lot .

Breakfast was excellent with a huge and varied choice. Room was adequate but we booked the rooms with outdoor terrace which made up for it. Terrace was lovely although overloked by people either side of you. To be fair, no one either side of us used their terrace while we were on ours. Night time view of the Acropolis lit up was a bonus.

Location isn't really the nicest part of town but to be fair, they can't change that. Just didn't do my research well enough before. I don't think it would stop me from staying there again though.

The Wifi was very good with speeds around 100Mbps. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a vast array of tasty choices. We opted for an Executive Double room with balcony and Acropolis view. I'd really recommend that. It was nice to sit on the balcony in the evening with the Acropolis becoming floodlit. We also had a clear view of Mount Lycabettus to the east. The hotel location is midway between Omonia Square and the National Archaeological Museum, This area has a bad rep but we did not feel unsafe at all during the day and walked most of the time. We generally ate early in the evenings and were pleasantly surprised by the delighful ambiance, food and service (kudos to Lisa!) of the rooftop restaurant. The bed was large and comfortable and the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Pictures below are Mount Lycabettus and the Acropolis taken from our balcony and the hotel buffet breakfast.

There wasn't much to complain about. The elevators were very small as was our bathroom shower.

Hotel is centrally located in Athens from Syntagma metro station it is approximately 20 minute walk to the Hotel or two stops to Omonia metro station from Syntagma. Polis Grand Hotel is located on a main street and there is also bakery, shops and coffee shops close to the hotel. We booked a executive double room with private veranda acropolis view and we were not disappointed. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable for two. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the veranda and take in the amazing view of the acropolis. Even though our room was overlooking the main street we heard no noise and slept very well. Breakfast was amazing, great choice for everyone and very fresh, cereals, pastries, tarts, cake, fruits, yoghurt, pasta salads and many hot foods to choose from. We stayed during the Christmas holidays and the breakfast room was very busy with guests but everything was very smooth while the Manager Vasilis was making sure all the guests were enjoying their breakfast and was on hand if we required anything further. The receptionist Myrto greeted us with a warm welcome and a friendly smile upon arrival. She was very helpful and gave us all the relevant information we needed to know. Her colleague Yiannis was also very helpful and gave us further information on shopping malls, places to go and how to get there. This was very helpful to me as we moved around Athens easily following his instructions. The two other gentlemen who were on reception were also very friendly and greeted us as we entered the hotel from our days out. The security personnel also were very friendly and kindly called the elevators for us and helped us with our luggage when checking out. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and food was fresh, tasty and a good choice to suit all while staff were very polite. Check out was fast and efficient and the hotel kept our luggage until we were ready to go to the airport. Overall this is one of the best hotels we stayed in and will visit again.

We stayed on the 8th floor and sometimes the lift took a little long to arrive to our floor.

I picked a room with a balcony and a view of the Acropolis which did not disappoint. The room was ok it had a very large bed but lacked cupboard space, if your staying more than two to three days and living out of a suitcase it great but I was there for six days which I would have liked a cupboard or draws it would have been more convenient, but that's my opinion and it didn't distract from the good stay we had. Breakfast was amazing it had exactly what was needed it catered for all types from meat eaters to the vegetarians and if asked probably for vegans as well, and as for the breakfast staff so helpful and nice. The one thing I would recommend is its location, it is a two minute walk to the Metro and Amonia Square where you pick up all the tourist hop on hop off buses and other transport hubs also access to the airport using the metro. The hotel location is just right so your not exactly in the thick of it but just right in walking distance to everything, its a straight line to the base of the acropolis about a 17-20 minute walk and about 12-15 min walk to Plaka and Monastiraki which is the heart of all the action like shopping, restaurants and most of the arkeological sites you need to visit. Overall Staff where great and helpful facilities where good and location couldn't fault it.

Two things that could be improved. One, lifts there are only two and only accommodate three to four people at a squeeze, so if you are at a high floor you could be waiting for a long time and if there are too many people then you'll have to wait. After a long day of walking you really don't need a walk up eight flights of stairs. Two, the showers are small well in my room anyway I cant judge any other room but as I paid a supplement for the top floor with a view I would have though might have got more room to move, and when you get out of the shower the end of the sink was protruding so to exit out of the shower I would hit myself nearly every time.

Very clean room, comfortable bed, very friendly and helpful staff. Grab bag ( kind of takeaway breakfast) provided when I could not have breakfast due to early flight. Walking distance to all attractions and shops.

Why electric kettle in the room, when no cups or coffee or tea provided? There was a note that 2coffee sachets, 2tea and 4 sugars would be provided for €5… this is first time I saw something like this… Not even one English tv…

The staff made my stay really comfortable. They are super helpful and supportive. The hotel is located in the center of Athens, few minutes from a central Metro station. The neighboorhood is not super touristic but the hotel offers great value. The room had a nice balcony. The restaurant on top is a bit pricy but has very good cuisine and a great terrace with view.

The neighboorhood is not great; there are some restaurants at 10 mins walking around, better to avoid walking on secondary street. The hotel is a bit old despite it having been renovated. Rooms are comfortable even if not super big.

Breakfasts are great with a variety of choices, all fresh and tasty. The location is great, right in the middle of the city. I didn't like the noisy street (from the balcony) but you don't feel it inside at all. The staff is very nice, everyone is polite, professional and helpful. The parking is a block away but it's literally 2 minutes walk. The restaurant on the roof top is a wow experience. Great great hotel!

The noisy street and protests:) The room might be a bit bigger but this is only because we had to add a bed for the kid. Next time we'll take a double room so it's comfortable for everyone. Basically nothing bad that the hotel might have fixed.

The hotel was impeccable: clean, modern, with comfortable beds and an excellent location. The staff was amazing, and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever had, with a wide variety of high-quality options, including delicious Greek specialties.

The hotel's only drawback was the noise level. The doors didn't provide enough sound insulation, which could be disruptive for light sleepers. Additionally, the staff vacuuming the hallway carpet at 8 am on a Sunday morning was a bit surprising and unnecessary. However, these minor inconveniences did not significantly impact our overall positive experience at the hotel.
