We spent four nights at the hotel at the end of April in a family room, which is two normal double rooms with a door between them – meaning that the kids also had a separate, fully quipped bathroom!! The rooms are spacious, well furnished, the beds are very comfortable (not too soft, as in many places). The outside wall of the rooms are made of two huge sliding doors – leading to a nice little terrace –, which provide an amazing panoramic view to the Acropolis! From the bed!! If you don’t like it or want to sleep until late in the morning (or take a nap in the afternoon), you can close the curtains and make total darkness inside. The bathrooms are nice as well, the hotel doesn’t only provide shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, but also toothbrush and toothpaste too! Located on the walking street Apostolou Pavlou 800m from the main entrance of the Acropolis (to avoid big queues, buy tickets online in advance to a chosen 1 hour time slot!!!), this is one of the closest point to the heart of Athens! As our primary (and secondary) aim was sightseeing in Athens, we were expecting basic features: besides having a proper room, we wanted tasty food and cold drinks! Hotel Thissio provides them both: in the street terrace and on the roof garden restaurant area as well! Not to mention the a-la-carte breakfast menus with good portions: eggs prepared in various styles, toast, fruits, fresh orange juice, coffee, tea. Last but not least – a big thank to every member of the staff, who are very kind, helpful and make your Athens tour a really unforgettable memory!

We were only missing some shelves in the bathroom (there were only towel hangers), so we had to keep our bathroom accessories on a shelf in the room.

Terry and the team are so friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. The location is perfect we even had a view of the Acropolis and Parthenon from our bed and it's easy walking to everything. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Athens. The Thissio neighbourhood is great it's a living neighbourhood not just a tourist trap. The rooftop restaurant Thissio View is great and Terry even gifted us a bottle of Rosé wine to enjoy with our dinner.

We just wished we could have stayed longer !

Literally everything. From the view to the staff. From the room to the food on the top floor restaurant. Literally EVERYTHING about this hotel was amazing from beginning to end. We loved how quiet the neighborhood of Thissio is and how calm the atmosphere is. The hotel is on a pedestrian street called Apostolou Pavlou which is about a 10 minute walk on the other side of the Acropolis to the busier centers like Monastiraki and Psyrri. Just an all around great place to stay.

Absolutely nothing.

THIS HOTEL IS A WONDERFUL FIND. A general comment about the hotel is that is has the PERFECT location. It is only about 4.5 minute walk from a GREEN Metro Line (Thissio) Station. (And only one stop from Monastriaki Station and one more from Syntagma Station). The Hotel is also on a virtual Pedestrian Street, which in crowded, noisy Athens it a quiet heavenly break from both the crowds and the noise. And the Hotel itself is a relatively short walk (on that same pedestrian street) to the Acropolis entrance. SIDE NOTE AND THIS IS IMPORTANT: We had a 1st floor room (one floor above the ground level) with balcony (Room 103) for the first 4 nights. The room has one set of double windows with a small balcony on the side street. It has a nice view of the Acropolis. For our last day/night the corner room became vacant and we switched to it (#104). The price difference was only about $40. Room 104 was almost double in size and it did not have one balcony but TWO balconies (about 300% more balcony space) and it also had a jacuzzi tub. Instead of 1-set of double windows, Room 104 has 3 SETS OF DOUBLE WINDOWS and your views are of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora with nothing interrupting you. (The Booking.com description of the room says it has 'a balcony'. It is modestly incorrect.) IT HAS TWO BALCONIES and instead of being on the one side street, it is a full corner. The hotel is boutique hotel, I think with only 9 rooms. BOOK EARLY AND BOOK WELL.

The coffee but that is a European thing and not a hotel or an Athens thing. Ask for the filtered coffee. The breakfasts are whatever you want and the staff is very helpful, accommodating and very congenial.

The view from the room was the best! We stayed two days / nights at the Thissio; check-in was fast and friendly staff. The location is one of the best in the city, for visiting Akropolis and museums, and for walking the trails around the cliff and slopes. Metro station and train to/from the airport is 10 min. walk away from the hotel. Quiet pedestrian quarter with plenty of cafés and restaurants. (Ermou pedestrian shopping street is within walking distance as well, through the old streets.) We were paying for the view and location....

The hotel/ our room at the first floor was a bit run-down, not very clean (also, housekeeping staff turned up at 4:30 in the afternoon, when we had just returned back to relax in the room, - so we managed without); the room was noisy with (upstairs) water and sewerage pipes running in the thin walls... Only the second / last morning, the breakfast was as expected / described; and better than the first morning. First night there, someone, by mistake, locked herself into our room at 3 o'clock in the morning, with her own room key .....😮 ....but who cares, when you can wake up to clear blue skies and see the sun rise behind the Akropolis....

This property is in an excellent location, a very short walk to the acropolis, also restaurants. Cafes etc. Terry, the manager was very helpful, welcome drink on arrival. Breakfast was very good. Cappuccino Coffee with breakfast. Our room had a view from the window of the Acropolis, also as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant they had a restaurant right in front of hotel which was very pleasant to have a meal or snacks with a drink, again, with a view of Acropolis.

Nothing really, rooms not very big and only slightly worn in places but nothing to really worry about and it didn’t take away from our enjoyment at this Hotel.

We had a very good impression of the hotel. Great location, easy access (near Tissio metro station), amazing view of the Acropolis from the room window, close to main attractions, friendly staff. The room is small, but decorated tastefully and thoughtfully. Plenty of space for personal belongings. I would especially like to note the perfect cleanliness and housekeeping in the room, good breakfast. There was also an accident during our stay. In general, no one is safe from accidents. I liked how the staff reacted to it, everything was arranged very quickly, we were given the help we needed.

Among the shortcomings, we could mention that the bathroom had a very small shower cabin. I am 177 cm tall, quite a slim man, but even I found it difficult to turn around in this cabin. I imagine what it would be like if I had more than 100 kilograms of weight !!! The breakfast was good, but, in my opinion, you had to wait a long time for the hot food to be served (well, it's Greece), and sometimes the ham was overcooked. We would like to add that the above-mentioned observations did not diminish our good impressions of the hotel. Rather, they could be suggestions for improvement. If we ever go to Athens again, we will definitely choose this hotel.

Location, location, location - lovely hotel with attentive staff - you really are in the heart of Athens right next to the Acropolis - the rooms were great, breakfast was solid - the staff were very helpful. The top floor restaurant has beautiful evening views of the Acropolis - it is very special! We'd for sure stay with them again the next time we are in Athens!

Nothing too specific comes to mind to be honest.

The staff were excellent from the moment we arrived. Very helpful and friendly, and had a great sense of humour also. Our thanks especially to Terry and Panos. The breakfast also was really good and plentiful. The view of the Akropolis, from the room was superb.

Although the room was good, with a great view of the Akropolis, it required some maintenance!! IE: toilet seat was loose/broken, the bathroom door wasn't hung properly so couldn't close. Insulation from other rooms was poor, so we experienced a lot of noise.

Absolutely everything about this hotel was 10 out of 10. From the moment we arrived when we were greeted with the friendliest and most helpful and generous check in process I have ever experienced to the moment we left was outstanding. The room was fantastic with breath-taking views. The location couldn't be better and the service and helpfulness of the staff was wonderful. A small place with 5 star service and comfort. Amazing. Thank you.

The only disappointment was that we weren't staying for longer.
