We came on a shoulder season. Hotelier met us at the port and drove us up to the accommodation. View from our patio was stunning - out of this world. You could see all of Ios. We ate at the hotelier's restaurant that night and it was very good value for money. It is a downhill walk back to the port so easy enough to get to. I will say, walking from the town up to the hotel is very, very steep, but the pay off for that is an amazing view.

The showers were not the best (poor drainage and water pressure) - this is something I think one should expect when paying for budget accommodation, and this would not deter me from staying again.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes driving far from the port, right on the hill in front of the Chora. they have a free of charge shuttle service to pick you up at the port, which we found very practical. They also helped us with renting the scooter. What we appreciated the most was the amazing view on the Chora and on the sunset, right from our apartment door but also from the pool, which also offers drinks and meals all day long. The staff has always been super kind and available in any situation: the room was a bit old and in facts we faced some issues with the toilet tube, which they solved as they could but we had to remind them a couple of times. Cleaning service is efficient and available to come back if we were still in the room at the cleaning time. An international breakfast is served everyday and was super good, and it is also available until 11 - which is quite comfortable on vacation. In addition, they run a restaurant in the city center, 5 minutes walking from the hotel that is called “The Mills”, which is delicious, highly recommended. Our stay was perfect, thank you!

The view of Ios was incredible! The hotel rooms were comfortable and the pool and pool bar was great. Amazing cocktails, happy hour and really good food if you want to stay at the hotel rather than go into town. We had breakfast included in our booking and it was a great variety. All the staff were so kind and accomodating also. They also run the Mills restaurant which is close nearby and after being in Greece for almost a month it was hands down the best moussaka we have had. Highly recommend also.

It is a steep walk up to the hotel from town but views like that don’t come for free! It was not a problem for us at all.

The views from this hotel is absolutely magnificent , it is a very lovely hotel with rooms /apartments laid out in a traditional style .I would highly recommend this hotel and we would not hesitate to return.

It is on top of a hill ( which is great for the views ) but in my opinion you need a car to get to places .This for us was absolute no problem and certainly did not do anything to spoil our stay .

Excellent location as is only a short walk from the village which has bakery, bars, restaurants, shops. Skala is clean, the view is unbeatable, free wifi, good breakfast, lovely staff. Free transfers if you advise what time you arrive. We also walked to Maylopatas beach which took around 20mins there and 30mins on the way back. We thought this accommodation was a total bargain

I have no compliants and loved our stay but Please note, Skala is located on the hillside so if you have mobility issue then you may need a taxi. The pool was not yet open but we were aware of this as it was early season and is due to be opened soon

The pool facilities were fantastic, with the long opening hours for the bar! I really enjoyed staying at Skala overall, the transfer service was a nice touch on top of the recommendations given upon arrival, and great customer service.

The included breakfast was lovely, some more fresh fruit or tomatoes/cheeses may have been nice for the vegetarians. I would've liked some more snack options like crisps at the bar, as the shops were difficult to reach due to the hill up to the property. The cleaning service was good, however for a room of 4, we sometimes only received 1 toilet roll between us which was too little in my opinion.

Good location lift from port to accommodation. Friendly staff nice pool lovely breakfast breathtaking views day and night.

Swimming pool could open before breakfast. Big hill to get to property so think about a scooter or hire car if you’re staying here. 20 min walk into town but it’s all uphill on the way back !!! Ok if you have young legs though.

The view is spectacular! A peaceful setting overlooking the town. Our room was clean and had everything we expected. Breakfast was great with lots of choices, even for us vegetarians. Make sure to arrange for their ferry port pickup!

The hill is steep all the way from the port to the hotel but that is what gives the place so much character and charm. It's a beautiful location.

The staff was super nice. The room was really clean and the shower was so nice. Amazing pool in the summer time and great cocktails by the pool. Had a massage at the spa and it was amazing. Got a ride to the port after my stay which is a big bonus. Could not have been happier.

Only thing I recommend thinking about before you book is it's uphill. If you have a hard time walking or really bad shape it's not ideal. But I did not mind it at all.

This is the most incredible accommodation and the photos don’t do it justice. The pool area is amazing with an incredible view which is stunning at sunset. We also were treated to an incredible breakfast would say this 10/10 value for money!

It’s a very steep walk from the town up to the accommodation however we enjoyed the exercise and made the view that much better
