I can't say enough good things about the hotel and the hosts Lambros, Nikki and Katerina! The hotel is steps away from the beach and the property is beautiful! We were in a room with a balcony with bougainvillea and a view of Chora... surreal! The hosts are quick to respond and very welcoming, the cleaning lady was also lovely and it was wonderful to have a clean room after a long day out. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a place in Ios!

The properly was cleaned every morning and was perfect for me and my friends. The shower was amazing, the water pressure was great. We were provided with basic amenities and given new towels everyday. The balcony view was also so beautiful to wake up to and the aircon was perfectly needed aswell. The hosts were also the kindest most friendliest people I have come across. They were there for anything we needed and welcomed us with open arms, offering us any help we needed. They made our stay very memorable so thank you.

The beds were a little uncomfy and the pillows had nothing to it, wish it had some more filling.

The owners were friendly, hospitable, and respectful. On arrival, they showed us—on a map—the best places to eat, view the sunset, drink, visit beaches, and do activities. The cleaning staff was always jolly and efficient! The hotel is opposite the beautiful Yialos Beach with plenty of lounging, eating, and swimming options. It is also close to the port, which makes it incredibly accessible. The bus into Chora is in the port and less than 10 minutes ride away - the fare (at the time of writing) is 2€ per person per journey into Chora and Mylopotas.

Our stay at Mare Monte was unbelievable, our hosts Lambros and Katerina were wonderful. They made us feel at home and were so kind every minute we were there! The location is possibly the best on the Island, a short (5-10) walk from the port and restaurants and a 20-minute walk up the hill to the main town and bars. If I were to visit Ios again I would stay at Mare monte in a heartbeat, 25 meters from the beach and a convenience shop next door.

The staff weren’t so great, we had booked last minute due to our other hotel been horrendous. When we arrived we got given a room (staying 3 nights) lovely room couldn’t fault it. However our last day and day, we got rudely woke up saying they’re moving us rooms cause someone else is coming. We were annoyed but moved. The room we were put the a/c was broke. They fixed it but then it was blowing warm air all night. Then the next morning again knocking on our door at 10am when check out is 11:30/12, saying ladies check out time.

Perfect location, short walking distance from the port & right on the beach. Plenty of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Around a 20 minute walk to centre of Chora. Nice quiet area. The staff were exceptional, friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were as pictured and we had a lovely balcony area. The pool was clean and the pool area was nice and private.

Our shower leaked slightly however not a huge issue and we were given shower mats.

The pool was very relaxing and clean and the proximity to the beach was also great. There was lots of really lovely flowers decorating the walkway giving that authentic Greek island feel and making for great photo ops! A very calm quiet area so no disturbance at night!

We ran into an issue with the plumbing in our room but management were extremely accommodating and had the issue resolved and us moved in great time!

The property was very picturesque. It was basic, not flashy but perfect. The staff were so accommodating and helpful even though it was their wedding weekend. If they hasn’t had told us you’d never have known. Located right on the beach and a short walk from the ferry port. It was quiet and plenty of trail runs from the door which I loved. I would go back in a heart beat.

Amazing place, with an amazing staff. The owners were beyond lovely and welcoming, we had the chance of talking to them and exchange, we are so glad we did it! We had an amazing stay enriched by the celebration of the owners of their wedding, which was a pleasant plus to our experience. If I go to Ios, I'll stay at Mare Monte again 100%.
