This is a proper 5* resort. Comfortable rooms, various and good food, programs for kids, shows in the evenings. Kind and helpful staff. Many sunbeds, many pools.

A few, small details which will make it even better: - the Lyttopia playground needs some shadowing, in this form it's unusable from 10 to 17 because of the heat. Also the minigolf is unusable due to inadequate construction. A few free table football, darts and other would be a nice add up instead of the extra cost playroom. - the only kind of deception was the argentinian steak house, you need better steaks and cooks here if you wanna keep up or just change it to other type of restaurant.

Highly recommended, simply best hotel in Crete, Staff, service, cleanness, food quality & selection, management, we had a family holiday visit last week, we really enjoyed staying in Lyttos Mare. The main restaurant manager "George" is a great friendly person, I was surprised how he could manage such large capacity restaurant and deliver such good service and quality food from its kitchen. Location is great for both adults relaxation and kids activities. Pools are very clean...always find space around pools.. Room is very clean, bed was very comfortable. I normally read reviews before I booked a place, we heard some people saying kids are playing until late and noisy evenings, this was not the case at all, this is very high class hotel, all kids and guests are very polite and friendly too. Downside is that food and drinks were too good, I couldn't stop myself eating and drinking, 😀... now I need to be in Gym everyday....😂

Lyttos Mare was amazing. The staff was friendly and the hotel is beautiful and clean. When we arrived, the hotel had opened for a few days for the season. Because of this, the snack location and Greek restaurant were not open yet. The street food (snacks) opened the day after our arrival, but the Greek restaurant remained closed during our stay. There were enough sunbeds for everyone. Drinks were great, the food in the restaurants was great. There was enough variation and you can place a reservation for the asian restaurant and the steak restaurant. Special thanks to the staff as service from everyone was amazing!

Our room had some minor issues: safe not working (which was fixed immediately) and the glass shower wall was leaking (needed new sealant). We reported this, but did not see maintenance to fix it. We ended up placing towels to prevent the floor of the bathroom from becoming wet. This worked fine, so we did not complain about it. As to the food: they place signs indicating the type of meat served. For those that do not eat pork: sometimes the sign states beef, but the minced meat was sometimes mixed. We asked about the type of meat for the dishes we had questions about and the staff was very helpful. For the breakfast, the chicken and beef sausages were baked on the plate the pork bacon was also baked on, so for those that do not eat pork, be mindful of that.

The water in the personal pool of the room is cold. The beach is ok, gorgeous sunbeds, but with large stones in the water, a windy area, with flags every day. The food is plenty, but can be better for the money. In Turkey 5 stars offer more. It is not possible to make reservation for the argentian restaurant for free. The asian restaurant is not big deal. The greek tavern instead is perfect, is a must

The food does not change, even if the restaurant is empty, for example, the Asian restaurant requires a reservation in advance. There aren't many activities for children. We stayed for 4 nights and 5 full days and there were only two hour-long shows in the evening. Another thing, the hotel spa is not what you would expect from a large and deluxe hotel. Even if it's empty, it requires a reservation in advance, yes, for the empty sauna. The round pool is not of good quality. The water always spills out towards the beds, and there are shouts from the trainer

Beautiful hotel, very nice area with pools & restaurants/bars, direct access to the beach. Sports options and nice food for all family members throughout the day. The private pool felt very luxurious and we loved that you could always find a free sunbed or quiet place for relaxing.

For our teenage kids who slept in the room closer to the corridor, there was quite a lot of noise in the morning, coming from kids running & shouting. I guess another room option (2 two bed rooms in another building) would solve this next time.

The facilities are remarkable, the staff is friendly and always willing to help. We enjoyed the food and couldn’t get enough of their deserts and mocktails. I like that you can access facilities from Lyttos Beach, especially the water park and go back to Mare for relaxation. It’s more classy and modern that Beach and doesn’t have much noise

The pools and the food! The fact that everything was spacious and we didn't feel crowded Room manager Mary was very helpful to us!

Room cleaning could have been better

Exceptional service: very nice and friendly staff, open bar with a wide choice of soft beverages and alcohol, delicious food. Here I have to specify that the best 2 restaurants were Main Restaurant and Greek Tavern - here you could always find something special for any of your cravens as well as wide choice of fish and sea food which was cooked for you on grill. The first hotel, where they know how to do perfect eggs. Excellent pools and beach. Very clean rooms and all the facilities. Highly recommend this hotel!

The only 2 things that were bad were 2 a la carte restaurants - do not recommend to visit them. If Steak house was just not good, meaning that you order rare steak and get almost well done, then Asian restaurant was VERY BAD - me and my husband got stomach issues after visiting it, not mentioning that dishes were not tasty and fully spoiled by the amount of sauce.
