We stayed at Portokali during our holidays in August. We liked the place, the atmosphere and the staff of this aparthotel. Our was a last minute booking so we didn’t read much about it, we just had a look to the reviews and we must say it was the right decision. The pool area is really well-kept, with a bar where you can enjoy drinks during the day and even in the evening, surrounded by a beautiful garden! The rooms large and bright with a nice balcony, in our case with view on the pool and the see, that you can reach with a small walk. In the morning some delicious ladies prepared breakfast with homemade bread and cakes and many other good things. Maybe the only thing to improve is the shower size in the bathroom.. The two brothers who own the hotel were very helpful and hospitable, as all the fantastic Cretans we met.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home :). The hotel was spotless, and our apartment was not only spacious but also immaculate and delightful. Nestled in a serene location surrounded by olive trees, the hotel offered a peaceful retreat. The pool and pool bar provided the ideal spots to unwind, whether before heading to the beach or after returning :). The breakfast was a real treat, with a variety of fresh and delicious options, including some delightful Greek specialties.

We've recently had the pleasure of staying at the Portokali hotel and were thoroughly impressed! The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. Our room was a spacious mini-apartment with a private bathroom and kitchenette, making it feel like a home away from home. The facilities in the room also included an air conditioner and a refrigerator. The hotel's amenities included a clean and inviting pool, as well as a cozy bar where could be enjoyed a refreshing drink. The staff were extraordinarily warm and welcoming, always ready to help with any queries or requests. And, best of all, the hotel was just a short walk from the beach! Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Crete.

1 star hotel. Yes, the hotel is worn and needs renovation. But it also has so much charm, and the price reflects very well what you get. Portokali means orange. But there is no orange at the hotel.Why not a fresh glass of orange juice in the morning, i love to pay 2-3 euro for that. No prices and menu in the bar.Very close to the beach. The wifi was in top. It was a very authentic family run place that we would like to return to. Close to the busstation to Hersonissos. Taxi about 10 euro to Hersonissos. Several restaurants nearby. Great food at, Palazzo di mare, best pizza at restaurant Volkano, nice food at La Krina and located in an authentic area ,but the best food and service by Tritonas. We´ll return.

Very, very nice family hotel, very well maintained garden, pool. We had a great welcome. The room was clean, bright and airy. Chirping birds and olive trees around. Lovely view to the sea. Two terraces. Breakfast-very good. Beach - 5 min. by foot. Staff-very kind. Location is very good if you have a car to explore the Eastern part of Crete. Not sure how is the public transport to reach it. I liked the bookshelves with holiday books in English and German and may be some other languages that you can borrow while there.

Just a tiny little remark- if possible to provide folding driers on the terrace.

The owners and all the team are fantastic. Welcoming, helpful and friendly. The breakfasts are very good with a buffet selection to meet all tastes. It is a quiet location with a very good , well maintained pool and surrounding area.

The bathroom is small and the shower about half normal size. But you don't spend your holiday in a bathroom!! We knew this when booking

Good location. Nice owners and crews. The breakfast is ample and delicious. The pool is clean and big enough. Many beautiful beachs are close to the apartman. You can rent a car on the beach (10 minutes walk).

The bathroom is very old... need to repair asap. Lots of cicadas are around on the threes and could be very laud.

I really liked that this is a family-friendly hotel where everyone is extremely kind and welcoming. The staff goes out of their way to ensure that every guest has a wonderful experience, making sure that the stay is enjoyable for everyone.

There was nothing I didn’t like. Everything met my expectations, and in fact, the experience exceeded what I had hoped for.

The garden and pool are amazing, lots of green, lots of shadow, very good club sandwich in the pool house. The staff was extremely friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was varied. The bed was comfortable. Close to the seaside. Would come again.

In the bedroom a soft cozy reading light would be a nice extra touch. Besides that everything was very nice.
