Socrates is fantastic! What we loved the most about the hotel is definitely hospitality, cleanliness, serene atmosphere both in the hotel and around the hotel area and very very friendly and smiley staff! Rooms are cleaned every day. There was no noise of the busy streets, but the hotel was still close to the old town and main streets (about 10 minutes walk). We very much loved the pool area and the sunbeds. Despina and Eleni made all our days very enjoyable and happy! Supermarkets and other important facilities are all very close and we would recommend this hotel for everyone! Would definitely come back. Hotel also offered their own transportation from the airport to the hotel and back and the guy was super friendly and professional!

We had a wonderful stay at Socrates. A special shout out to Anna in reception and Despina around the pool and restaurant area. Both looked after us throughout and gave us all superb service with a smile! The pool restaurant food is excellent - some of the best we've had on holiday. Great location - in a quiet area but bars/restaurants are only a few minutes walk away. The pool area is lovely and there was never a problem getting a lounger - comfortable too! Pool towels are provided. Thanks to all!

It was a lovely hotel with nice and kind owners and staff. Breakfast quality was high as they used their own products and house made food. I really enjoyed the beach as it’s just opposite the hotel! Looking forward to visit you next year for longer stay!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool area was great. Plenty of hot water, and good water pressure in shower.

The only bin in the whole 2 bedroom apartment, was a very small one in the bathroom for loo roll, as you can't put it down the loo. We could have done with a bin in the room for other rubbish. We found the shower a bit awkward, as even though it was good pressure, we couldn't hang it on the wall, so had to hold it all the time.

Very friendly and helpful staff, making you feel like you are at home. Variety of options for breakfast, free transfer from and to airport. Overall a great place. I recommend it, close to centre and some lovely restaurants. Amazing pool area.

Some of the hotel policies were absurd. Like having just one key per room, which is problematic as the key is needed for electricity in the room. Eventually we got a second key from the lovely receptionist. To the hotel owners - Please, don't spoil the nice experience at the hotel with such inconveniences. Also the lights in the toilet near reception switch off literally 20 seconds after you enter and they are not activated by movement.

It was my first time in Malia and I didn’t know what to expect but Socrates Hotel exceeded my expectations . The stuff was lovely especially the receptionist, Klaudia . She would answer any of our questions, she always had a smile on her face , she would recommend us traditional shops and restaurants and she would help us live the whole experience of Malia .Our room was clean , the beds comfortable and the breakfast good . The you so much Socrates Hotel for exceptional hospitality x

rooms were very spacious and always clean, pool area was amazing especially the sunbeds and pool bar! Drinks were 10/10

only issue was lots of tiny ants in the room but i’m assuming that can’t be helped. Wasn’t a bother though

Extremely friendly and helpful staff (especially Despina). Rooms cleaned everyday. Great location. Quiet and relaxed. Breakfast was excellent, the pool never too busy and always available sun beds. For a family holiday, it was perfect for us!

Very nice little hotel with friendly staff. Location was perfect just between the Malia old town (about 15 min walk), beach (10 min walk) and night-clubs' street, but still far enough to be quiet and calm in the hotel area. Exceptionally clean both inside and outside, rooms were cleaned every day with care. Pool area was beautiful and comfortable, including little bar with drinks and food to order. Breakfast was the same every day, but there were enough different choices so we didn't get bored at all (sandwiches, eggs in three different ways, sausages, bacon, greek yoghurt, several cereals, greek specialities, pastries, fruits etc). Airport transfer was extra bonus. All our requests and questions were handled professionally and it made our vacation really carefree.

In the apartments the kitchen facilities were very basic, so probably it would be difficult to prepare bigger meals.

The hotel and rooms were kept spotless by the 2 hard working cleaners, the rest of the staff were also exceptional friendly and professional and were definitely 5 star hotel material…..we thank them all for making our stay memorable.
