The hotel is simple but it has everything you need to enjoy some time off. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms, excellent air conditioning and amazing pool and ocean views! The location is great, the very large pool with a fun bar and right behind it the beach. You can easily walk to Finikounda but there is a small hill you have to deal with (Gramma said no because it was so hot but there is plenty of parking in town). :) The hotel is run by a very nice Greek family. Finikounda has a great vibe, lots of good restaurants and a few fun excursions to offer. We loved that there seem to be a lot of Greek tourists and it wasn't overrun with others. Prices are much cheaper here than in other parts of Greece. Overall, we spent a very relaxing week here and would highly recommend it!

My only suggestion would be to change up the breakfast a little bit every day for those people who are staying longer. The bread tasted old (cut too early in the morning?), so either different bread, let guests cut it themselves or offer a toaster.

Top location, right at the beach, only neighbour is an o.k. beach bar. Nice pool, great for kids, with very friendly staff and a decent drinks & snacks section. We could book a family room for two adults and two teenagers. Should be no big deal, but is far from usual practice.

The whole place is, well, a little run-down. The bathrooms are very basic, and accommodation has not been maintained properly. Beds are absolutely o.k. though. The reception area has not seen any makeover in many decades. Breakfast is dissapointing. Management is kind of negligent, though not unfriendly. Summary: a fine place that could be fantastic with more effort and a vision. Now it looks like their best days have long gone.

Basic contental breakfast. It was nice and the staff managed to accommodate some extra requests. Th rooms were basic, spacious and clean. Staff accommodated all requests for extras. The staff were very nice. The hotel is dated but the pool area and views make up for it. The beach is just a few steps away and you can walk I to town within 15 minutes or a 5 minute drive. The lunch at the pool bar is fantastic.

The hotel could do with some updates, particularly in the room and bathroom.

The hotel is in a really beautiful location and has lovely gardens and a large well kept pool. Rooms were a good size and clean. There is a lovely outdoor restaurant, run by very helpful staff.

Getting to the hotel on foot with luggage (from Finikounda) was a nightmare that involved a long winding uphill road. Apparently there's only one taxi and it was busy for the day. It's possible to walk part of the way via the beach (which shortens the walk) but that's not sensible with luggage and if you don't know the route. I'm more than happy to recommend the hotel for those with a car but it's not ideal if you're travelling by public transport.

Location is fantastic. Right on the beach with excellent pool area for both adults and children. The staff were fantastic providing high level of service at all times. Many Great Greek & international restaurants only 10 minute walk. I would definitely come back and would recommend it any looking for a more relaxed Greek experience.

My stay was too short

They had a great breakfast each morning. The location was not walking distance to the city so you would require transportation. But it was so beautiful and very quiet. They did have food to order at the hotel that was delicious and another restaurant a short walk down the beach. Rooms had AC and were nice. The pool was beautiful. I recommend water shoes for the beach. Overall it was a great experience!!

Seems like most of the beds in Greece are much harder than in the USA but we felt with it.

We loved the breakfast and had everything we could want. The food was great with a food selection and the setting perfect - looking out over the sea. The pool area was very well maintained and the facilities were great. Beautiful view of the beach with free beds if you preferred the beach. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Honestly our stay was perfect

Second time at the Golden Sun. I enjoy the pool and beach below. Comfortable matress on the bed. We stayed in a side view room this time. Equally as Comfortable however if the sea view rooms are available definitely worth the extra for the stunning view. Breakfast is plentiful . Continental. My only gripe is the coffee however you can order from the pool bar. We ate several times in the evening. Nice homecooked food. Snacks , club sandwiches etc available all day by the pool. Overall very relaxing. I would return.

Extremely friendly people working at the hotel. Great costumer service. Wonderful pool area, delicious food and the location of the hotel is excellent. Would always stay there again.
