I felt like I struck gold with this hotel and didn’t want to leave! Firstly, I came on my first solo trip and instantly felt so looked after by the two friendly reception staff, who both were so lovely and helpful to me. As well as this, the waiters at the bar were also so friendly and accommodating. I felt very safe here. The hotel itself is stunning! It’s set up high on the cliffs, surrounded with trees and in the most beautiful setting. You can hear the crickets all day and night. I stayed in a junior suite, which was clean and had everything I needed including a kettle and a gorgeous balcony view. It is located around a 15 minute walk to the centre but it is very steep and hilly so only walk if you have good fitness. There is a short cut there down the steps from the pool. Do not make the mistake in walking up the main road from the bus station to the hotel - yikes! Anyway, following on, the hotel is helpful with organising taxis. The two pools are great and fairly quiet all day. They were so peaceful to relax at during the day and read a book. The snack bar was great with many options including hot food and decent prices. In the evening, the hotel overlooks a stunning sunset, which I enjoyed every night with a cocktail. I didn’t try the buffet but it looked good. The hotel allowed me to store my luggage after I checked out and relax at the pool all day before my flight. There was also a shower at the gym to use. I fully recommend Forest Park Hotel and I definitely want to visit again. Thank you so much! :)

Our double panoramic sea view room was spacious, clean, and equipped with the necessary amenities. The balcony offered a stunning view of both the city and the sea—just what we needed for our final days in Crete. Since we had a rental car, the hotel's location slightly uphill from the city wasn't an issue at all. The breakfast was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and overall, the hotel felt cozy, clean, and well maintained.

The only issue we faced was a heavily smoking neighbor on the balcony next to ours. We did not raise it with the staff, as we were only there for a couple of mornings and evenings, but it did affect our time on the balcony—especially during the evenings. Although the hotel lists non-smoking rooms and non-smoking throughout, there was an ashtray in our room, so if this might be a concern for you, it is worth double-checking the smoking policy with the hotel in advance. Despite this inconvenience, we highly recommend this hotel and would definitely consider it again for a future stay.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are nicely decorated. The views are stunning and the staff are also very friendly. There is plenty of parking for a car rental. Despite it being a top a hill which means you can ENJOY the beautiful sunsets and views, we always took the car into the city and parked for free along the street. I am sure the walk, if you take the short cut, is much shorter than some people have written in the reviews. I would book this place again.

The price of the breakfast is not worth what you receive, therefore i would prefer to go to a local bakery for breakfast. Also the coffee was pretty terrible, therefore i would opt for just a room without breakfast.

We had a fantastic stay here! The receptionist was friendly, thorough, and efficient. The room was modern and comfortable. We had a gorgeous view of the Venetian fortress and the bay from our balcony. Breakfast was delicious. They had a lovely pool and a collection of board games in the game room. There is a lot of parking space, which is a luxury not to be overlooked in Rethymnon! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future!

Fantastic views. Location was peaceful for but accessible to town / sea - walkable or by taxi.

Food variety was limited when the pool bar closed. It was the end of season but all the same many guests still staying I would expect the lunch menu to remain available. We were without hot water on a few occasions.

This hotel was the best hotel I’ve stayed at! The room was great and the views were absolutely beautiful! The receptionist and pool bar staff were also so friendly, accommodating and helpful, which made the stay even better. I didn’t want to leave this hotel and stayed a further 2 nights after this with my friend when she came to stay with me! It’s 20minutes from the town by foot, which was lovely as it felt really tranquil being at the hotel by day but easily accessible to the lively centre. Absolutely faultless, thank you for the perfect stay! I will definitely be back!

The location was ideal, in a forest, close to the city center and on a hill with amazing view! The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Yiannis at the reception!

I did not like that we did not have access to the gym. Also, at the breakfast they would offer cold coffee but they would charge extra for that (this is not usually the case).

Great view from the restaurant area/swimming pool. Also on our balcony we saw a perfect sunset! We liked to enjoy the pool and the gym while on the hotel.

Breakfast could be better. Location is good for the view, but the way up is not very easy for all people.

Hotel with beautiful views, two pools and a short walk down the hill (15min) to the town center bars, restaurants etc. Rooms were clean, with a/c. Staff very friendly
