THE BEST HOTEL IN RETHIMNO!!! If i could give this hotel 20 more stars, it still would not do it the justice it deserves. When we arrived on the Wednesday it was still pretty early, but we were welcomed with such a warm friendly smile and a nice shot of Raki. Even though we weren't scheduled to check in until 3pm, we were immediately given our key and told the room was ready. And what a room we had (we booked a junior suit), spacious, super clean, huge balcony, mini fridge, comfortable bed, you name it we had it. The staff here are what makes this hotel the crown jewel of RETHIMNO, the service makes you feel like one of the family, whatever you need, they are there to help you. Need help renting a car, its taken care of. Need help with local restaurants, they have a list. Want to visit some beautiful less touristy places, they have a list for that too. Want a massge in your room, they will make it happen. Nothing is too big an ask. The pool is the perfect size with enough beds around it, they have pool towels waiting for you when you come down stairs, the cocktails are to die for and with a 24hour serviced bar and reception even those midnight munchies aren't a problem. Then we have the fantastic breakfast, chef Jana and her team make sure that there is a variation everyday so that you have a variety of tasty delights to try. They welcome you with a warm smile and a very goodmorning. Then there is the view, holy moly... its spectacular. You eat breakfast on the 5th floor rooftop with a full view of rethimno and all its glory. From the venetian harbour to fortezza castle, the rooftop offers a magical view to accompany your morning coffee. This hotel is a budget friendly, yet screams quiet luxury and that's mostly thanks to the amazing staff. I cannot express my thanks enough to George, Jana and the whole team at Menta, they made our 10 day stay in Rethimno absolutely magical and we will certainly be back as soon as possible.

The hotel is very modern, and the attention to detail is fabulous. Breakfast on the roof terrace each morning with amazing views of the town was very special. The choice of food catered for all types and varied each day, especially the homemade cakes! The staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting places to eat and visit. The room was very spacious with our own private balcony overlooking the pool, cleaned daily, with storage space for all our belongings. The pool area was spotless,very relaxing with plenty of sunbeds. Drinks and food are available also. Private parking for our hire car just around the corner was an added bonus. All in all, it's a fabulous place to stay, and we will definitely be going back.

The only thing was the walk back up the hill on an evening from Rethymno, not for the fainthearted, but good for those able to make it!

We arrived late - 1am and we were very tired and did not know what to expect. I remember the images were amazing but when we arrived it was stunning. The man on the desk said he had upgraded us to a better pool sized room because we will have been tired which was very nice and unexpected. He even let us take some water and pop to our room and said we will sort payment out tomorrow do not worry. The room was immaculate and really beautiful. The shower was amazing and the bed very comfy. We moved to a different accommodation because we were staying with friends but we wished that we had the week staying there instead! The pool was amazing too. If I ever go to Crete again 100% we will be going back. Thank you for arranging our transfer as well from the airport it was extremely good service.

Lovely hotel, very quiet and relaxed with everything you need. The rooms are very clean and spacious with an amazing shower. Wonderful breakfast in the morning with different things every day and beautiful views from the rooftop terrace. The pool was great, and there were always sunloungers available. You could get drinks and snacks to have by the pool at very reasonable prices. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful, they really went above and beyond. They recommended places to go, amazing restaurants to go to, and booked the best tables for us. They arranged a car hire for us and made the whole process so easy and stress free. Always a smile and a friendly chat when we saw them, nothing was too much trouble.

On arrival made to feel very welcome. We were given junior suite on the 4th floor, can see the sea view- stunning. Big balcony and very clean and modern rooms, Maids come daily - Shower is great. Pool is clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds. You can use hotels towels. No one is putting towels out in a morning so no sunbed wars. Sunbeds are comfy and plenty of umbrellas. Food is snacky type , sandwiches and pizzas etc. Not expensive I think, can get bottled Mythos €5 each, ice cold. Love this hotel and will definitely return 🥰

Super squeaky toilet seat 🤣

As soon as you enter, you are greeted by what permeates the hotel, friendliness and quality. The staff are consistently very professional and friendly. Clean and tidy and with a small but very nice pool area. The breakfast room on the fifth floor is probably one of the most beautiful ones with a view worth a visit just for that. The breakfast is also well cooked and the elderly woman who runs it gives clear instructions on, among other things, the cakes she baked herself. It is about 20 min walk down to the beach, a bit hilly but it is an advantage after a good dinner in the evening.

The room was nice—spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The employees were also very polite and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.

The breakfast was quite basic, with no vegan options available—not even a milk alternative. There was only filter coffee, and no espresso machine. Although the menu mentioned that guests should inform the hotel of any dietary preferences at least three days in advance, we wasn't infomed before the arrival. The pool wasn’t very clean during our stay, and it appeared that outside guests were also allowed in. This made the experience less relaxing and didn’t feel exclusive for hotel guests.

The staff were incredible, so welcoming and friendly and gave great advice on restaurants and places to go. The hotel itself was beautiful, great facilities and the breakfast each morning was great. The hotel was very clean and our room was cleaned daily. The pool area was very nice and the sunlloungers were very comfortable.The woman cooking breakfast would explain each of the dishes she had cooked that morning and every morning she made different options so it was varied and of great quality. Thanks George and Michaelis for making our stay so memorable.

The hotel Menta was a great choice. We were very satisfied with our room (it might have been a junior suite). The room had a balcony with a sea view and was located on the upper floors. It was spacious and clean in every way. The bathroom was in (fairly) good condition. There was plenty of space for clothes in the closet. The balcony was delightful; plain but spacious. Views in almost all directions. There was also space for the car near the hotel on an empty lot. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed. In March, everything was still off-season which made our visit seemingly peaceful. The breakfast was decent. Good savory pastries in addition to all kinds of traditional sweets. We didn't try the swimming pool but we did swim in the sea despite the cold water. It takes 15-30 minutes to walk from the hotel to the beach and the town center - old and new.

There were some minor issues with the shower equipment. The kitchen did not quite meet expectations. It was poorly equipped. F.ex. the water did not come out properly from the tap. The hotel's location might cause problems for those with mobility issues, but taxis are always available. No more to blame. Mostly a well-functioning hotel.

From the moment we arrived, the reception staff made us feel welcome. They were not only friendly and approachable, but also eager to help, providing excellent recommendations for local places and restaurants. We tried a few of their suggestions, and they were absolutely fantastic A special mention goes to Mrs. Yianna, the Chef, whose warm personality and genuine love for her work truly stood out. We lived her beautiful smile and delicious and thoughtfully prepared breakfast she served each morning.
