The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the old town but as the hotel is set back from the street you don’t get the street noise at all. The staff were very friendly and attentive, especially Eirini who went above and beyond to make our 5 year old happy, including providing pool toys. When there were a couple of very minor issues with our room the staff came to fix them very promptly. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable, with good air conditioning on the upper floor and a very good fan in the living area.

There were a couple of slightly mouldy patches in the shower, and the towels were quite worn out but otherwise everything was very clean and well maintained.

Wow - a hidden gem in the beautiful old town. The perfect mix of hotel meets small and family run and owned. The location is incredible, in the heart of the beautiful old town and a short walk to the beach. The welcome from Eirini and her care the whole stay was amazing, her restaurant recommendations were the best! The apartment we stayed in was bigger that we expected and just lovely - perfect for us as a family of 4. The hotel itself was beautiful and you can tell every inch was loving restored. The hotel pool was perfect for a dip and the perfect setting for a cold beer by the pool and some cards while the kids had a dip. Peaceful, a hidden gem of the old town. We can’t wait to return again

Nothing, it was idyllic

We stayed at Mythos Suites for our honey/babymoon and we could not have made a better choice! The location was perfect in the old city center with parking close by and many options to eat. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is run by a family and you can feel that. No worries if you don't know what to do or where to eat, they will give you a whole travel itinerary if you would like it. The breakfast is small but of good quality and, most importantly, with local products. Which is, for us at least, of more importance than abundance. The courtyard is calm and quiet and makes for a relaxing place to sit outside after a long day of exploring or just a relaxing day at the pool. We stayed in the Executive Suite, the room was large with a separate bedroom upstairs, so we had plenty of space. All in all this hotel is a perfect choice for those seeking a quiet but central location, a personal approach to hospitality and morning greetings in the courtyard by the hotel cat!

Everything about our stay at Mythos Suites exceeded expectations! It is on a quiet side street in Rethymno old town, walking distance to most bars and restaurants and to the Rethymno beach. The hotel is not accessible by car, but there is a parking lot nearby for 5 euros a day and the walk to the hotel is flat. I did not realize that I booked an Executive Suite (it was the price of a standard hotel in the United States) and could't believe it when we walked into the room and it was 2 levels, with a sitting area and kitchenette on the first and bedroom and bathroom on the second. All the rooms have access to a balcony or the terrace around the pool. The pool is small but perfect for a dip after the beach or before heading out for the day. The breakfast was amazing as well! What really makes this hotel special is the staff. They are all family and friends and seem to have worked together a while. They took a lot of time to help every guest plan activities to do during their stay. We got great recommendations for restaurants in town, on the southern side of the island near some beaches we were visiting, and on our way back to the Chania airport. We were also given tips for where to park, and what beaches were worth visiting over others. Lastly, I am not even a cat person, but I loved the hotel cat Erika. She is always relaxing on a chair by the pool and is very friendly.

Nothing! It was perfect.

We came to Mythos Suites 10 years ago and had a truly wonderful stay. 10 years later we returned to find it even more magical than the first time. This hotel is an absolute gem. It’s right in the heart of the Old Town, which is full of great bars, shops and restaurants, but yet, as soon as you set foot in the hotel the noise of the town fades away. It’s so peaceful and tranquil in the hotel. We enjoyed wiling away evenings in the sun on our balcony, overlooking the charming pool. The rooms are spacious, clean, and stylish and the breakfast was lovely: a smorgasbord of homemade Greek pastries, fresh fruit and other homemade local delicacies. However, above all, what makes this hotel is the staff. It’s a family run hotel and they were some of the loveliest people we’ve met. Eirini and Eva went to great lengths to make our stay a truly memorable one. 10 years ago I would have given this hotel a 10/10, and now it’s more deserving of a 12/10. It’s a tranquil idyl in the heart of Old Town Rethymno.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Mythos Suites Boutique Hotel during our small honeymoon in Rethymno. The location is absolutely perfect right in the heart of the old town, yet quiet and peaceful, making it easy to explore everything on foot. The service was excellent from beginning to end. All the staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely made us feel welcome and cared for. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety, and the breakfast area had such a cozy and calm atmosphere. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable exactly what we needed after a busy wedding weekend. We truly felt taken care of throughout our stay. A big thank you to the Mythos suites we hope to come back one day!

Mythos suites is absolutely beautiful. We had an executive and junior suite, both were amazing, and all the communal areas, especially around the pool were stunning. Staff were all incredibly welcoming and helpful, very attentive and would do anything to help. Room came with breakfast, which was lots of lovely Cretan specialities which the owner explained all came from local producers or was home made. Location was amazing, in the old town, nothing more than 10 minutes walk away.

Mythos Suites Boutique Hotel is wonderful. It's incredibly classy, but in an effortless and unfussy way that means it is also extremely relaxed and relaxing. Eirini and her team are magnificent - keeping everything running smoothly, always there to help but never in the way. Breakfast is brilliant - lots of local and delicious produce on offer, and if you get the chance to try Eirini's rice pudding or her mum's coffee cake then you have to take the chance! And the location is great, right in the old town but with very easy access to the beach too. With only about eight rooms it is small and everything feels very personal. This is one of my favourite hotels. Thank you, Eirini and all of your team!

It was completely idyllic - we loved it all.

Mythos Suites is an extraordinary hotel on an extraordinary island. It is situated in the centre of the old town, yet a quiet place. The old port, the beaches and most of the restaurants are within walking distance. They have really nice rooms , arranged around a beautiful courtyard with pool. But above all you will hardly find a hotel with a more warmhearted charming and cosy atmosphere. Irini, the owner, is a very charming and friendly young lady who, together with her team, offers real hospitality and perfect service.

Irini, the daughter of the owners, greeted us on our arrival and was a daily presence at the hotel. Her warmth and advice on local matters were very welcome. The included breakfast was fresh and varied and catered for all tastes. The room was cleaned daily with towels also changed. Although situated in the town the layout of the building means that the rooms and central courtyard were devoid of any traffic / pedestrian noise. The Mythos suite is a peaceful hotel with great staff who made our stay very pleasant and we have no hesitation recommending it.
