Our 3-night stay at Pepi Boutique Hotel was dreamy and unforgettable. Housed in a historic building—one of the first mixed boys and girls Primary School in Crete—it has been lovingly transformed by the owners into a stylish and charming boutique hotel, blending Venetian architecture with modern comforts. The staff’s kindness was exceptional. Despite a hot water issue in our suite, they provided access to a neighbouring room and refunded one night’s stay as an apology. Elefteria, the lovely receptionist, was beyond helpful, making us feel truly cared for. The young manager/owner made us feel truly special and welcomed, and we would like to thank him for that. Breakfast was a highlight, with fresh, locally sourced dishes tailored to our low-carb diet—don’t miss the poached eggs with smoked salmon or the Cretan omelette. Enjoying breakfast in the lush courtyard surrounded by historic walls and exotic plants was pure bliss. Our suite was comfortable, featuring antique stone walls, large windows overlooking the garden and pool, and a unique wooden platform bed. The hotel is filled with thoughtful details, like a vintage Singer sewing machine next to a modern iMac, a beautiful wine cellar, and a selection of books to enjoy. Meeting the founder, who named the hotel after his wife, added a personal and touching connection to our stay. Pepi Boutique Hotel is a perfect blend of history, culture, and hospitality, and we are already planning to return! We left Pepi Boutique Hotel with full hearts and are already planning our return. It is a place where history and hospitality come together to create memories that linger long after departure. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly special stay in Rethymno!

This is not a criticism of the hotel but a recommendation for travellers. Make sure you travel light because it's quite difficult to stroll or carry large suitcases or bags through the old town's tiled streets. The zone is pedestrian and this makes it a bit difficult if you have large luggage. Other than that, everything was pure perfection.

This is a lovely boutique hotel! It has a small, deep plunge pool which can be used daily. It's a perfect location and is away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was lovely but quite small and hot! The aircon did work but it didn't seem to spread across the room very well. It was a comfortable night's sleep however the room could do with a few blinds to block out the light. The breakfast was fabulous! Lots of buffet pastries and breads to choose from before we were offered a hot choice, which was delicious. The setting for breakfast is beautiful - around the pool and very peaceful. Plus lots of local cats! It was a lovely stay, thank-you!

The temperature of the room. Despite the aircon, it took a long time to cool down in the heat.

Gorgeous, large, comfortable room with an enormous, very comfy bed. (We chose a superior room.) Nice modern decor, spotlessly clean. Breakfast by the pool was a delight. Staff were super friendly and attentive. An electric heater was supplied in the room, which was really thoughtful for the cool spring nights. The location couldn't be more central and the municipal car park really is just a 5 minute walk away.

A bit more strong light in the room was needed to be able to read comfortably, though the subtle lighting was admittedly atmospheric and tastefully done.

Picturesque boutique hotel near by the heart of Rethymno old town and the city. The rooms are comfortable with all amenities including coffee and tea makers and coffee capsules. Beds are spacious and comfortable but bathroom was adequate. Sitting area just next to the kitchen one is spacious and cozy with a sofabed for the possibility of accommodating a kid or so. Front sitting area is quite spacious and perfect for a coffee or drink and some work. Personnel was very friendly and helpful to propose solutions and areas to visit. The receptionist was super friendly, helpful and polite! Outer areas will board you to dreamed places of Latin countries. Just take a look at the photos. All in all, this hotel is located in a perfect location and is highly recommended.

Beautiful ‘gem’ of a hotel right in the heart of the old town and despite it being in the centre, it’s lovely and peaceful. The pool is a wonderful treat. The suite was large and comfortable. Having a fridge was a real bonus. The breakfast was perfect served by just the most genuinely warm and friendly staff.

Perhaps a couple more sun loungers wouldn’t go amiss. The bed was a little firm for us but that’s just us wanting a bed a little softer.

Pepi is a little gem in the heart of the Old Town. Small enough for a personal touch, yet big enough to have wonderful facilities. The breakfast buffet is a truly tempting spread,with fresh orange juice,endless coffee and local pastries and breads. There is also a 'to order' cooked breakfast menu,with delicious local produce. Sympathetically decorated rooms with all mod cons. Comfy sunbeds and huge parasols in the beautiful garden. And of course -a dipping pool to refresh from the heat. The best thing about Pepi is the lovely staff team. All so warm,friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. They combine true professionalism with Cretean warmth.

I wish the pool could be a bit warmer!

We stayed at the Pepi Boutique Hotel before and really liked it and so booked it again. The location is perfect -in a quiet alley in the centre of the old town. My request for a spesific room was kindly met by the staff. What I like specifically is the lovely pool where we could cool off after shopping. The shady pool area and sun beds for lazing around when you get tired of the busstling of the old town are a big bonus. The breakfast was superb with a big selection of fruits , cakes, cold meats , cheeses and various warm breakfasts could be ordered. My request for a spesific room was kindly met by the staff . They also recommended authentic restaurants for our evening meals. Each room has a Nespresso Machine and coffee pods are supplied.

The room had a kitchenette which is useful but no cutlery ,plates ,dish cloth were supplied. This would have been useful. The shower cubicles are terribly small which I understand as this is an old building which was converted into a hotel

Pepi Boutique Hotel was perfect in all ways. Very central location but still quiet at nights, because it is situated in a side street. Staff was very friendly and hotel was kept very clean during our stay. Pool area was comfy and the breakfast was one of the best we've ever eaten. You could order eggs made in a different style every morning. Would highly recommend Pepi to adult couples.

Water pressure wasn't that good but water was warm and you could wash yourself still easily.

Beautifully designed exterior. Our room was stunning, but see negative. Wonderful breakfast. Superb location, with an amazingly cheerful coffee place "Pirate Deli" diagonally opposite the hotel. About 15 minute walk to the excellent city beach which stretches for kilometres. Special thanks to Anna and Despina!

Be aware that, at least with the superior double rooms, as of September 2024 the features should be understood as “or”, not as “and”. So in our case, the room neither had a balcony nor a terrace, in spite of those being listed as features. Luckily, we liked the room anyway. The same goes for the view – it lists city, garden and pool views, but in reality you will have one, perhaps two, but not all three. So if you attach importance to a particular feature, you better check with the hotel for availability.

Beautiful boutique hotel right in the middle of old town. Loved the design and style of the hotel with the plunge pool in the middle of the courtyard which I overlooked from my room. I believe my room was the only one with a balcony which I loved. Staff were so lovely Breakfast was delish

My room was perfect but I had a friend staying in one of the lower rooms and the room was quite dark, works with the aesthetics of the hotel so not a big deal but we were getting ready for a wedding so my room on the top floor had lovely natural light that was helpful when getting ready.
