This beautiful old Venetian building has been loving restored and from the first year that we stayed here in 2021 we’ve been spending a few nights at the place every year because it’s such a lovely place.The ambiance especially at night when the pool is lit up is calming , the rooms, though basic, are spacious with comfy beds and good linens.Breakfast ,which is buffet style, is plentiful with an eye on healthy eating and the staff are very helpful and kind.The owners do a great job all round and are very pleasant taking care of their guests every need.

Staying at Vecchio Hotel feels like stepping back in time the moment you walk through the big green gate. The location is absolutely ideal — right in the heart of the old town and still just a short walk from convenient parking. The rooms are impeccable: spotless, comfortable beds, air conditioning, fridge, and a kettle for your morning coffee or tea. The little pool in the courtyard is a lovely bonus, perfect for a refreshing dip after exploring. And you won’t go hungry — there’s a lovely restaurant just 15 meters away! What truly makes Vecchio Hotel stand out is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, always ready to assist and make your stay as pleasant as possible. Plus, they offer luggage storage if you arrive early or leave late. All in all, Vecchio Hotel is a wonderful blend of history, comfort, and warm hospitality — highly recommended!

Lovingly restored 14th Century former travellers inn, family owned and run by a father and daughter team. Both were always welcoming and took time to chat or give advice on sights and tours. Right in the heart of the Old City, but whisper quiet. The beautiful courtyard pool was used every day…sparkly clean and always refreshing. Lovely balconies and private lounges to escape the sun. Other guests were all very friendly…In fact as a solo traveller it was lovely that someone wished me ‘hello’ or ‘goodnight’ every time I came ‘home’. Loved it so much, I booked for one night and ended up staying 5… and will definitely return.

Really great location within center of Rethymno Old Town, yes the parking is a bit challenging or expensive, but we were able to park for free within 10 minutes walk. Well, this is quite old building with rooms oriented to inner yard, where is really nice pool. The room quality is OK - considering the age of the building and the pool is really nice with plenty of sun. There are tables and sunbeds around the pool, some inflatables are provided. The hotel is really in center of everything you can find in Rethymno - taverns, bars, clubs - everything is in very close distance.

Sunbeds can get bit annoying :) some folks just leave their towels for few hours marking them as occupied, I would recommend for the hotel to leave some note regarding this, for example max 15 minutes otherwise towels could be removed.

Location in the middle of the city center, close to the famous fountain and many restaurants and bars. It is situated just around the fountain-corner and thus out of the busy part of the city. It is a smaller scale hotel with superfriendly people, a central swimming pool and clean and big rooms. The breakfast is a mix of European and Greek style and includes all one wants in the morning.

Time went by too fast ;-).

Facility was very good, next to center, perfect for someone to be close to all shops, restaurants and the beach. I could go everywhere on foot all day long. People in the hotel were very helpful and helped me any way they could, with information and whatever I asked them. breakfast was nice, for starting was day in Rethymno, pool was great and clean, you could stay as much as you wanted. It was a very nice hotel in the middle of the city of Rethymno, I would visit again in the future.

The only thing I did not like was that I saw stain in both of my towels in my room, so that made me feel a bit uncomfortable about using them. I told about that and they told me that although they wash them there are sometimes stain that are not go, and that they will replace all towels with stains.

Location is perfect. The room and facilities are simple but good. The pool looks great although I had no chance to try during my business trip to the town. The staff is very friendly, attentive and efficient.

Sometimes loud sounds in the night from the neighbouring streets (weekend) made sleeping quite challenging.

Historic and full of character, centrally located in Rethymno old town, but hidden away down some back lanes, away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of places to eat and things to see nearby. Clean and comfortable room with a large balcony, much appreciated. Friendly welcoming staff. There is a swimming pool on site.

The location is ideal and the building itself beautiful.

Breakfast was overrated I believe thus we didn't have any, common area was poor with little space for all guests, we stayed upstairs and had no balcony nor any chairs to sit at outside the room and there was no place to hand our wet towels and bathing suites. The pool gets little sun thus is cold and the place is too quite which makes it ideal for older people. Rooms were average with the "popular" rent-a-room furniture, bathroom and kitchen.
