The rooms were clean, comfortable, quiet, and equipped with all the right accessories. However, above all, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with our room at the beginning of our stay, and the owner came straight away to assess and mend the issue, all within half and hour. Also organised a stress free transfer from Chania Airport at request, which was also ideal. Super service and kind staff, together with great comfort and facilities, makes the hotel one of the best stays we’ve had.

Everything was perfect - if we are nitpicking, the beach was a little bit of a walk. But the old town and boulevard were very close by, as was a corner shop, so no complaints!

We stayed at the hotel for ten nights in June 2024. we had a lovely stay but I think for us what was most noticeable was how lovely the staff were, they are incredibly sweet and gave us many recommendations for eating and exploring in and around Rethymno! The hotel is located a short five to ten minute walk from the old town and about fifteen to twenty minutes walk from the local beaches. The hotel itself is quite small which we really liked, the pool and outdoor lounge area is a decent size and the rooms are simple yet had everything we needed for a beach holiday. What we also would very convenient was that the hotel has reserved parking spots right outside for guests which saved us a lot of time looking for parking spots.

My only critique would be that sadly because we were on the 3rd floor, our balcony was the only one not covered from the above balcony so unfortunately we did notice almost every day bird poo all over our balcony which meant we didn’t end up really using the balcony so that was a bit of a pity.

Our stay in City Hotel and Suites was very good! Rooms seem brand new and the hotel is only 5 min walk from the old town! Owner Mr. Papadakis is extremely kind and helpful. His recommendations about where to go and to eat were very helpful! We would like to stay here again when we come to Rethymno!

A self in the shower room would be really helpful.

Loved this hotel! I have spent 10 days there and everyone was so kind and helpful about everything! The location of the hotel is very good and quiet and yet you can easily go in the city center for 5 minutes. I would recommend going to Rethimno and The City Hotel & Suites if you want to have wonderful vacation!

Very modern rooms and the staff was so kind and helpful. What I especially LOVED was the solid air conditioning and the incredible shower in my room.

What I didn't like were some of the other reviews which ultimately led me to choose staying at this hotel. I'm not about to tell you this was the best hotel I've ever stayed in, but it is modern with the facilities more than reliable; the bathroom especially being impressive. I think the pool is made out to be a big selling point from the photos, but the allure becomes interesting once you see the outdoor space and the way it's enclosed by the other city apartments.

I had a fantastic stay at The City Hotel and Suites! The location was perfect, allowing us to explore Rethymno easily. The breakfast was decent, providing a good start to our days. I must give a special mention to Eleni, who was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to assist us. She helped us book a memorable scuba diving adventure and recommended the best restaurants in Rethymno. Thank you, Eleni, for making our stay even more enjoyable!

The only minor downside was that the cleaning could have been better, especially in the shower area.

The breakfast was excellent, prioritizing local and Greek products and quality over quantity, but with plenty to choose from for various tastes. The location was convenient, with parking available. It was nice to have a pool available. The hotel was nice and new and attractive, with a pleasant lounge area in the lobby and very comfortable beds. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional--kinder and more helpful than anywhere else I can remember.

The pool was a bit small and had odd hours for use, although the hours were not set in stone. Towel racks are needed; there were only an inadequate number of hooks for towels. A second comfortable chair would have been useful in the room. The room cost seemed rather high, especially since breakfast was not automatically included.

Hotel was recently refurbished, so everything is brand new. Our room was nice and clean. Reception was clean and one receptionist in particular (blond hair and young) was very welcoming and lovely.

Unfortunately, not much attention to cleaning was done. When we first entered the room, it was clean but than when they cleaned it daily we could see that not much effort was being made. Shower wasn't clean one day, surfaces were not wiped and filled with dust and sand on the floor in our room.

We were a couple staying at this hotel. The hosts were wonderful and smiling, attentive, helpful and advising. The place is very clean and tidy, the hotel is in a good location, a few minutes' walk from the center of Rethymno. Highly recommend this hotel. Before we left, the hotel manager brought us a gift of bottles of olive oil that he made from the olive tree in his house and it was a moving gesture. We never received a personal gift at the hotel. We will definitely go back there again

Lovely modern hotel room, great size, large comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Quiet area and very close walk to a little supermarket. Pool area was in shade for most of the day which was great respite from the heat! Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful - gave us enough restaurant recommendations for our whole stay.
