Everything! Right from the amazing host to the location and views. We spent our New Year’s Eve here and stayed 4 days. We couldn’t have loved it more! My friends love coffee and were so delighted to get a made to order coffee by the host every morning with the breakfast. Breakfast spread had tons of varieties. There is an elevator. Subway stations and trams are literally in front of the building. Lots of restaurants in a walking distance. The personal effort from the owner is very evident and makes the whole experience very warm. Would absolutely recommend this property to anyone!

The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable giving us good advice, tips and hints to make our stay more enjoyable, the breakfasts were spot on with a good selection of meats, cheeses, fruits and cakes to choose from. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet, the bathroom was spotless and roomy. The building is on the very edge of the town centre so it's only a few minutes walk to the nightlife but far enough away so you are not kept awake by the madding crowds. There are some nice restaurants and cafes within a minute's walk and the famous indoor market is just across the road. This is an old building with huge doors, winding staircases and uneven flooring, if you want a super modern hotel then this isn't for you but if you want a down-to-earth quirky hotel then book it.

We stayed here before joining our Viking River Cruise Excellent size room, twin as requested, couch & coffee table. Corner room with great view. Close to river just out the window. Great Market Hall across the street. Typical European breakfast, cold meats, cheese, fruit etc. Very central for our needs. Small lift otherwise plenty of steps. Food places nearby. We like to walk so unsure about public transport, was just across the road but didn't use it. For 2 friends great choice of property. Hand wash & shampoo supplied

Shower did not drain very well. Also power point (socket) in bathroom was not attached to the wall, very dangerous in my opinion. Asked to be fixed but was not. We did have a little trouble accessing property. Pushed intercom. Maybe we miss understood what to do, lucky someone was coming out and able to open gate to take us up to accommodation. No towel rails or toilet paper holder. No bathrobe as stated. lacking toiletries. No conditioner or body lotion.

1. The location is great, near the Central Market, Liberty Bridge, Kelvin ter, Vaci Street, and tram and metro stations. 2. The chance to stay in an old traditional Hungarian manson. We liked the experience. 3. The landlord is friendly. Pity that he only showed up during the breakfast time. During other periods, we could only meet housekeeping ladies who spoke no English and looked impatient. 4. Breakfast is nice.

1. The cleaning inside the room leaves something to be desired. For example, spider webs can be sighted in the bath room. 2. The floor in the shower room is slippery when wet, causing me to slip once when taking a shower. I think the floor tiles in the bathroom are for the wall, not for the floor.

I booked the Butterfly apartment based on the location and viewpoint of the city, which holds dear memories. Upon arrival, there is a secure front gate that is coded and likewise another to enter the main entrance. Our apartment was on the second floor, and if you don't fancy the exercise of the stairs, you can jump into the lift. When entering our room, the first thing to do was check the view, and it didn't disappoint. Our apartment had one large room and a separate bathroom area that were well sized and equipped with all we required. I knew we had the breakfast option with our stay, but I guessed it might be some cereals or toast, perhaps, but I was very wrong. In the morning, we entered a communal area and was greeted by András who was warm and friendly. Breakfast was a mix of pastries, meats, cheeses, breads, and yoghurts. Andràs took our order for a fresh coffee and served us at our table, which was unexpected but a great touch. On the second morning, he didn't have to ask and remembered our coffee choices as he did for the other guests. This apartment is in an old charming building that is full of character and history. Location of the apartment is fantastic, opposite the central market hall and a stones throw away from the number 47,49, and 2 tram line, which is all you need to navigate your way into the heart of the city. We had a great stay, and the value for money was excellent for the time of year and the breakfast also. A lot of stays now are not personal. You just collect your room key and away you go. András keeps the personal touch and goes the extra mile, which for us was super appreciated.

Just a few small issues. Our shower holder was broken, so using the shower head was tricky , and the water drained very slow, which could be due to being on the second floor in an old building. Lastly, our mattresses did slope inwards, which is a sign of wear and tear. We didn't take away any points away from our review as in the grand scheme of things, these are minor things that can be resolved easily.

Convenient location right at the start of the main tourist street with 200 meters away from tram stops and 300 to the metro station. View on the bridge and market is adorable. Not needed much because of included breakfast, but a lot of cafes downstairs. Exceptional hospitality, all recommendation and advice from the owner made our stay in Budapest unforgettable!

We stayed at Butterfly Home on July 19–20 and everything was simply perfect. The location is right in the heart of Budapest, with easy access to public transportation. Most of the city’s main attractions are within walking distance, which made getting around very convenient. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable — and having a view of the Danube River from our window was a real treat. The interior design of the hotel is charming and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. What truly makes this place stand out is the hospitality of the host. We were welcomed with a smile, received great local tips, and felt genuinely cared for. It honestly felt like home. I wholeheartedly recommend Butterfly Home to anyone looking for a peaceful, central, and high-quality stay in Budapest. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Butterfly Home!

The location is excellent, especially for families, with a playground right in front of the property. The room was clean, although the facilities are a bit dated. That said, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and breakfast was included—so overall, it’s a great value for the price.

It wasn’t a major issue, but the Wi-Fi and TV connection were a bit weak. It would also be helpful to have a proper place to hang towels. Additionally, it seemed that the towels were not replaced unless a tip was left.

This property is at a perfect location for every mode of transportation in Budapest. Trains, trams, ferries, taxi or uber. My room had a very comfortable bed with clean linens and towels. Two sides of the room are windows looking out on a gorgeous view of the bridge and the Market building. The park in the front of the property provides lovely green space and there are restaurants and coffee shops just outside. The owner had great communication in WhatsApp and instructions to get into the building upon our arrival. The building has an old elevator and a series of doors and gates but it’s easy enough to solve through following the instructions from the owner for entry. A nice breakfast was served in the parlor in the morning and the owner let me purchase a super late check out. I was very grateful for that. I went to the Gellert Spa across the bridge and bathed there and so I did not use the shower in the room. I suspect the plumbing is old in a very old building but everything is kept clean and the staff obviously takes care at upkeep. I will definitely stay at Butterfly for my next visit to Budapest.

The location is excellent and the selling point. So close to the Parliament (Tram 2, 2B and 23 took us there for just around 10-15 minutes), and most of the scenic spots along the Danube. Liberty Bridge just close by is beautiful. Public transport from the accommodation easily brings us to Buda hill and other city center tourist must. Breakfast was good, with good choices of bread, cheese, cold cut, drinks, cereals.....Breakfast was served from 8:30-10am. It will be better if it can be served an hour earlier so that those who want to start their adventure early or have to catch an early train can have it before they go. The gentleman serving breakfast was very friendly, helpful and humorous. We were in Room 5. It was very spacious. The bathroom is also very big. So is the bath tub. There is a fridge, an electric kettle and a hair dryer. All these are very useful. There were tables, but either bedside tables or coffee table. It would be better if a normal working table is available.

Nothing. Areas which I suggested above, ie earlier breakfast time and proper working table, aim to make the service quality even better. One more thing - the property owner sent out detailed instructions on self check-in, yet the email was sent shortly before formal check-in time. It would be better if the email was sent a day before because for visitors like me who travelled all the way from Hong Kong to Budapest, I was then already anxious about finding my way in a totally new environment, and would not think about checking my email.
