The location was excellent. The room was light and airy and the breakfast area was beautiful.

It would be nice if the lounge area by reception could be an area where you could have a tea or glass of wine

The breakfast was amazing. Tried different things on the menu and all were excellent. The only slight criticism was it would have been nice to have a second cup of tea or coffee. The staff were all friendly, polite and very professional.

See above re: tea Some noise at night with guests talking loud (not the fault of the hotel). Also, we were on the 6th floor and on our last night it seemed many people were using the rest room and making a lot of noise. Perhaps a sign reminding them of people sleeping nearby would help.

Regarding breakfasts: The food was extraordinary. The view was extraordinary. The server, Sabrina, was the friendliest person I met in Budapest in my four days there. I had intended to have breakfast in a variety of different restaurants, but Solid, at Hotel Rum, was so special that I ate there every day. Regarding the room: I loved the thoughtfulness and ingenuity that went into updating the room. The room functioned well, was aesthetically pleasing, and inspiring design-wise. Regarding the location: I could walk to all the important sights in the center city. A few blocks south I felt that I was also able to be part of the daily life of the average person — a convenient way to get to broader understanding of Budapest and it’s residents.

This is one of the best city hotels that I have stayed in. It is relatively small and that is a distinct advantage, staff were efficient and very helpful and the room was well above average. Breakfast area and bar quite small and menu limited, but very good. Handy location and quiet at night. Difficult to find any thing bad to say really

Room very clean, comfortable. Best shower - instant hot water. Very quiet location - no traffic noise. Interesting building, the rooftop restaurant is lovely. Breakfast was delicious (the eggplant dish was exceptional). A great start to the day.

Didn't like having to book a time for breakfast, as restaurant is small and busy - used by non residents. When on holiday I prefer to be able to have breakfast any time in between the opening hours. Would have liked a 'fresh fruit' option on menu. It was very much 'cooked' dishes. Was craving a fresh fruit/yogurt dish. Didn't like that my husband could not have a top up of coffee. Only one cup is allowed, you have to pay for another cup. Really! We paid a lot of money for the stay and could not get a second cup of coffee at breakfast! We were told we had to pay, but had not taken money/card to breakfast, and waiter said could not charge to the room. So we went without.

Hotel very central and clean. Staff very helpful & friendly. Beds very comfortable to sleep on. Bathroom large with good shower. Tea/Coffee available in room and 24/7 Reception Cover incase you needed anything. The Number 100E Airport Bus dropped us in City centre which was round the corner from hotel.

Bedroom too small & compact. No actual wardrobe to hang clothes, just an open rail with a few hangers. Bathroom/Shower doors made of glass that didn't reach ceiling, with frosted bits in middle so no privacy if staying not as a couple. No chairs or room to sit in Bedroom if you wanted to read or chill out in your room for a while. Standing room only or sit on the bed.

The elevator was broken during my stay and I have been given an upgraded room as a "we are sorry for the inconvenience". Boy, was I positively surprised. I had a mini-fridge, proper air-conditioning, and a bed that would fit two of me. And it all looked good to boot. If other rooms are like this than you get ridiculously good value for money here! The hotel is not right next to a metro station, but close enough that you can walk. There are bars, pubs, restaurants, etc nearby if that's your thing. The staff know what they are doing and are prepared for emergencies. I managed to cut my hand, and it was not a problem to come downstairs bleeding to ask for a first aid kit. They had it on hand and ready.

We really enjoyed Rum Hotel, great location and central to Budapest and easy to get to places. We loved the little side street it was on, we had a huge room with all the amenities. Great view over the roof tops of Budapest and beautiful buildings. Really trendy, smart building, great lounge area to sit on arrival. Reception staff were helpful, provided us with milk for drinks in our room! We loved the breakfast, roof top restaurant and we thought it was great to pick from a menu rather than a buffet. Great choice, yummy food and drinks. Really enjoyed the hotel, would recommend it!

The cover to the key pad fell off every time we opened or closed our doors (on both rooms) The lobby was well designed but felt more doctor’s waiting room than cool hotel lobby as it had rows of chairs around the walls rather than relaxed lounge area.

The location is perfect. It's very easy to get there from the nearby metro station, wich is very well served in terms of transportation. You are close to the market, the river, and you can easily walk everywhere. There are plenty of restaurants around the area and shops. Some of the staff is very nice (the lads from the reception).

Some of the members of the reception (one young lady), and the staff from the rooftop were very cold. Not welcoming at all. The breakfast is not buffet and costs way more than you get. The bedroom was confortable (the beds), but there is lack of space to put your stuff (instead of a bedside table, you get a painted log of wood that barely has space to put your phone or glasses. The cleaning could be a bit better, but not something bad.
