This was my first staying in the Hostels, before that i was very hesitant however i didn't regret it. The place was clean and the cleaning team work really hard to maintain it that way. Something i also liked about the design of the rooms that i have taken (4 Bed Room) is that, they had one door that allows you to go to a small common area where you find shower, washing basin and toilet in separate areas. In order for you to get to the room you will have to get into another door. This helped keeping the room very quite during my sleep. All the doors were accessed through cards (sometimes other users might leave them open but generally doors are closed), so make you sure you carry your key always with you. The Bunk got power plug and plenty of storage areas for your personal things. The main wardrobe has a good space that you can easily put your luggage in and lock it with pad lock ( Bring your own lock ). Floors have nice carpets making it more quite when moving around. The staff in general were extremely nice and very flexible, I had several encounters with them one of which i had to extend my stay for few days and they managed to allocate me the same bunk although it was a full house. The ladies are wonderful in the reception and very helpful too. Adam if i remember his name right he is amazing with all these activities that he runs on daily basis. He brings people around for good times and also for exploring the city. Parsa another wonderful guy very friendly hardworking guy that doesn't only stop at listening to your concerns, he will physically go with you to chase the issue until you are satisfied. I remember him struggling around to find a better place for a guest that had issues with the air cleaning smell and couldn't breathe well. He took an initiative to take her to another floor and switch of the air scent dispensers or humidifiers just for the lady to be able to use the kitchen in peace. Again i can't stress enough the team is amazing.

Beds are a noisy a slightest movement is causing noise. Breakfast had no consistency in menu

Everything was super clean. A nice surprise was that each bed had two pillows - something you can’t always take for granted in hostels :D I also appreciated the lockers that worked with a key card so I didn’t need to bring my own lock The breakfast, which wasn’t included in the price was fantastic and definitely worth it.

The only downside was that my room was right next to the shared kitchen, which could get quite noisy at times

Conveniently located, about 5 min walk to the Central City Market, 2 min walk to the river, from where you can take tram no. 2 that basically takes you through all of the main sightseeing spots. I also found it relieving that you can unlock all the necessary doors and your personal locker with a single e-card so you should not worry about the safety of your belongings.

I couldn't reach for the cups on the shelves in the kitchen. Apparently, it was not designed for 5'3 people.

The location was good and the lockers were large. You didn’t need your own lock, they operated with the room key

The rooms were not well ventilated. We had aircon and had to use a fan at night. It was still too hot imo. The offered tours were so expensive. I’m not sure how they justify the price for backpackers. I was told 69€ for a boat cruise… I found one online for 25€. Laundry is also offered for 13 euro which is ok if you have a lot but I just had small garments so I walked 100m to the laundromat and paid 4€. I also found some of the staff rude and dismissive.

It was incredible. The whole staff was super nice and the things they organise for the guests to socialise are super cool. I would also recommend joining their WhatsApp group as it is a very nice tool to meet the people in the hostel and the staff also post what's up in the city today or the next days. I will definitely be back! Thanks Parsa for the nice welcome and all the recommendations. I would be lost without you! <3

Regarding the price, clearness, location, equipment, facility, staff kindness, I would say it was the best hostel I’ve ever stayed!!! I’ve arrived really late, around 2:30am and Suzy at the reception warmly welcomed me and explained everything I needed to know as well as some event info. Room, bed, linens, storage locker, and bathroom were all clean. I was impressed by the locker size, which was REALLY huge. Large enough to put your cabin suitcase and backpack and more! Additionally, you don’t need your padlock, the card is the key for locking the locker!!! That was really convenient. Bed was large enough to sleep comfortably, and I got TWO pillows!!! Different size each. It was hight enough to sit down and organize your things. Bed curtain was well equipped and avoids being disturbed by the room light. Awesome My floor has 4 showers and 4 toilets, separated!!! Each shower room was quite large and many hooks. (4 inside and outside?? I really liked that they have gender separated bathroom as well. Brilliant water pressure and temperature. Few hairdryers side to basins. They also gave me a towel for free of charge! The location is brilliant, it’s just 10-15m from 100E bus stop, and 10m walk from Metro station. Just took me 1h to get back to the airport by metro and 100E bus which costs me just 900huf. Close to central market which has Aldi, and you can find other supermarkets around there too. All famous buildings and places are approachable by foot. I really enjoyed the night view around there. Felt safe walking around at night alone by myself. Well equipped kitchen with two fridge. Morning and evening gonna be a bit crowded though. To sum up, they provided me everything I needed and made my journey in Budapest so much greater!!! Couldn’t be more appreciated! I’ll recommend this place to my friends and leave my honest review here to show my appreciation. I would love to come back!!

I had a pleasant stay. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming from the start. The curtains in the rooms darkened so well that I had an amazing night's sleep every single night of my 6-night stay - something I really appreciated. Since I was traveling with my sister, Tiberius made sure we had two beds in the same room, which was lovely. The whole staff was extremely friendly and helpful - Tiberius, Soroush, and a few others whose names I sadly forgot, but everyone made us feel very much at home. The music playing in the lobby was another lovely touch, creating a nice vibe whenever we passed through. And the terrace on the 6th floor was our favorite spot to chill.

I stayed here 6 nights and felt really at home. Very comfy beds and spacious bathroom. Big, clean kitchen I wish I’d used more. Fun bar and roof garden. Nice staff. Breakfast was good value. Met some great people. Location not as central as most hostels but perfect for me (ie it took 20m to get home from the bar and not 5m) and easy to get to at any time of day or night. Not loud or touristy in the neighbourhood and so close to Balna, which is lovely for a sunset drink, and lots of restaurants. I would stay here again!

The socials felt a bit disorganised and I missed out on a few things as I had made other plans or wasn’t nearby at the time. They sell tickets to external events every day but only told us last minute what the internal activity would be that day. Loved the breakfast when I got there early, but got there at 10 another day and most things were finished.

From the first welcome, to the last day, the staff greeted warmly and made great way for all of my stay. There is a active group meet up at the bar area almost every night, don't miss the karaoke. Great fun to meet lots of people, even locals. Extended my stay and was again welcomed and staff was happy to see me on. They can offer great recommendations and the housekeeping staff are friendly, if you greet them and work continuously to keep the whole place clean.

Sometimes the common areas showers and kitchen can be busy but there are plenty to use on numerous floors.

An overnight experience taken to perfection - I could not imagine a better place to stay! The service & reception was outstanding, Alexa was so welcoming & helpful, this angel deserves a bonus!! Very well designed, extremely tidy & nicely decorated spaces. The lounge & bar is perfect for socialising, the kitchen & common space had all the amenities + coffee&tea and the rooftop terrace was so cosy, an oasis over the roofs of Budapest. The 6-bed female dorm had big lockers, a shower&toilet and the beds were super comfortable with curtains for privacy. Maverick has also a variety of activities & services to make your stay smoother.
